Opis:
The influence of UV radiation on the gloss, structure (SEM, FTIR), thermal (TGA, DTG) and mechanical properties of polyurethane resins and the three-layer protective coating made of them was investigated. The gloss of the resins was greater than that of the protective coating. UV radiation has been proven to reduce gloss (at 1,200 hours irradiation, 81.3° to 8.9° for resins, and 61.1° to 2.8° for coating). The tensile strength of the resins decreased during aging, and the relative elongation at break after reaching the minimum was increased (at the irradiation time of 100 h). In the case of coating, both the tensile strength and elongation decreased during aging and, after reaching the minimum they increased (at the irradiation time of 800 h), reaching the maximum (at the irradiation time of 1000 h), and then decreased.

Opis:
Precarious manhood beliefs portray manhood, relative to womanhood, as a social status that is hard to earn, easy to lose, and proven via public action. Here, we present cross-cultural data on a brief measure of precarious manhood beliefs (the Precarious Manhood Beliefs scale [PMB]) that covaries meaningfully with other cross-culturally validated gender ideologies and with country-level indices of gender equality and human development. Using data from university samples in 62 countries across 13 world regions (N = 33,417), we demonstrate: (1) the psychometric isomorphism of the PMB (i.e., its comparability in meaning and statistical properties across the individual and country levels); (2) the PMB’s distinctness from, and associations with, ambivalent sexism and ambivalence toward men; and (3) associations of the PMB with nation-level gender equality and human development. Findings are discussed in terms of their statistical and theoretical implications for understanding widely-held beliefs about the precariousness of the male gender role.

Opis:
Collective action is a powerful tool for social change and is fundamental to women and girls’ empowerment on a societal level. Collective action towards gender equality could be understood as intentional and conscious civic behaviors focused on social transformation, questioning power relations, and promoting gender equality through collective efforts. Various instruments to measure collective action intentions have been developed, but to our knowledge none of the published measures were subject to invariance testing. We introduce the gender equality collective action intention (GECAI) scale and examine its psychometric isomorphism and measurement invariance, using data from 60 countries ( N = 31,686). Our findings indicate that partial scalar measurement invariance of the GECAI scale permits conditional comparisons of latent mean GECAI scores across countries. Moreover, this metric psychometric isomorphism of the GECAI means we can interpret scores at the country-level (i.e., as a group attribute) conceptually similar to individual attributes. Therefore, our findings add to the growing body of literature on gender based collective action by introducing a methodologically sound tool to measure collective action intentions towards gender equality across cultures.

Opis:
Social role theory posits that binary gender gaps in agency and communion should be larger in less egalitarian countries, reflecting these countries’ more pronounced sex-based power divisions. Conversely, evolutionary and self-construal theorists suggest that gender gaps in agency and communion should be larger in more egalitarian countries, reflecting the greater autonomy support and flexible self-construction processes present in these countries. Using data from 62 countries (N = 28,640), we examine binary gender gaps in agentic and communal self-views as a function of country-level objective gender equality (the Global Gender Gap Index) and subjective distributions of social power (the Power Distance Index). Findings show that in more egalitarian countries, gender gaps in agency are smaller and gender gaps in communality are larger. These patterns are driven primarily by cross-country differences in men’s self-views and by the Power Distance Index (PDI) more robustly than the Global Gender Gap Index (GGGI). We consider possible causes and implications of these findings.

Opis:
With the development of building seismic isolation technology and the official release of the Isolation Code in September 2021, seismic isolation design in China will now rely on two foundational codes: the Seismic Code and the Isolation Code. This paper take a ceramic jar storage of the RC frame structure as the research object, and carry out the seismic isolation design based on the separated calculation design method of the Seismic Code and the unitary calculation design method of the Isolation Code respectively, and clarify the control index of the Isolation Code is the story drift angle. The maximum displacement is reduced by 37.5%. In terms of material consumption, the Isolation Code leads to a 5.94% decrease in concrete usage, accompanied by a 13.97% increase in steel consumption, resulting in an overall cost increase of 4.98%. The findings indicate that seismic isolation design, guided by the Isolation Code, substantially mitigates the seismic response of the superstructure. The damage extent to structural members is reduced by 15-20%, promoting enhanced safety and repairability. The outcomes of this study offer valuable insights for future seismic isolation designs in RC frame structures.

Opis:
This study systematically analyzed the chemical composition and profile of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) of green tea samples from three counties (Wenxian, Wudu, and Kangxian) in Longnan, Gansu Province of China, to elucidate their quality differentiation. Principal component analysis (PCA) of 14 physicochemical parameters extracted five principal components accounting for 82.25% of the total variance, indicating that most of the variance within the data set could be explained. Significant differences were found in contents of glutamic acid, tea polysaccharides, water extract, caffeine and free amino acids among the three production areas. Seventy-two VOCs were identified using headspace-gas chromatography-ion mobility spectrometry (HS-GC-IMS), and the VOCs were predominantly comprised of aldehydes, ketones, and alcohols. Wenxian green tea contained higher proportions of alcohols and aldehydes, Wudu green tea was rich in terpenes, and Kangxian green tea demonstrated a higher ketone content. Orthogonal partial least squares-discriminant analysis (OPLS-DA) effectively discriminated tea origins with robust model parameters (R²Y=0.937, R²X=0.719, Q²=0.71) and identified 52 key VOCs with variable importance in projection (VIP) >1 and p<0.05 as potential geographical markers for differentiating Longnan green teas from different production areas. These findings establish a quality evaluation framework for Longnan green tea while providing technical support for geographical indication protection and targeted development of characteristic regional tea products.
