Opis:
Abstract: Currently, one of the challenging tasks for Chinese engineering community is to construct a water-way crossing of Qiongzhou Strait in the south of China. This project has also gained significant attention from researchers in academia. The study presented herein is centered on providing a feasible solution for ac-complishing the above mentioned task. Initially, different alternatives as the best location, judged on the basis of the environmental constraints, are studied. Then the comparison between various structural solutions such as suspension bridge, submarine tunnel and SFT is presented. Among these solutions, SFT appears to be a very suitable alternative for Qiongzhou Strait waterway crossing due to distinctive advantages, like shorter distance, lower cost, less impact on environment and navigation, etc. Based on the appropriate conception for cross sections, support systems, materials, joints and connection schemes, a numerical model is developed by means of the FEM software ANSYS/Fluent. It is then analyzed under the influence of different environmental loading conditions, varying the wave heights and lengths, current velocities and water depths, which are typical in Qiongzhou Strait. The numerical results reveal that the proposed SFT solution performs safely even under extreme weather conditions.

Opis:
The invariants for the time-dependent one-dimensional harmonic oscillator and the time-dependent two-dimensional harmonic oscillator in a static magnetic field are derived from the real representation of the exact solution to the equation of motion. Mathematically, the orthogonal functions invariant is the angular momentum of an isotropic time-dependent two-dimensional harmonic oscillator. Based on the invariants obtained here, the wave function for time-dependent two-dimensional harmonic oscillator in a static magnetic field in cylindrical coordinate is simply derived and the dynamical and geometrical phases are easily got by expressing the wave function as the superpositions of the wave functions of time-dependent two-dimensional harmonic oscillator in rectangular coordinate. For the driven system, the driving induced dynamical phase and the geometrical phase are respectively associated with the classical Hamiltonian and de Broglie wave of the center motion of the wave function.

Opis:
Liquid-solid fluidized bed (LSFB) has been widely known and used for separation of coarse coal particles (normally larger than 0.25 mm). The process of separation by LSFB needs fluidization water from the bottom to the top of LSFB. The fluidization water is formed by the water addition at the bottom of the LSFB. Normally the quantity of water addition is very large, which increases the burden of water treatment in coal preparation processes. In this investigation, a spiral unit was introduced into the conventional LSFB and the new separation equipment was named S-LSFB. The spiral unit could provide an upward force for the upward movement of coarse low density coals into the concentrate, and hence the quantity of water addition for fluidization water may be reduced. Samples of 0.5-0.25 mm size fraction coal were used to investigate the difference in separation performance between S-LSFB and LSFB. It was found that the separation performance of S-LSFB was nearly equal to that of LSFB. S-LSFB may be beneficial to coarse coal separation in coal preparation plant since the burden of water treatment can be reduced by the application of S-LSFB.

Opis:
The influence of the variation in water content, sampling location and loading speed on the shearing and across-compression mechanical characteristics of dwarf-denseearly major cotton variety stalks was analysed. The second-order response models of the factors vs. the maximum shear force and critical across-compression failure force were built using the response surface methodology. Besides, the sampling location and water content have a significant influence over the maximum shear force and critical across-compression failure force, especially the sampling location. Both the maximum shear force and critical across-compression failure force reach a theoretical maximum when the water content is 10%, the sampling location is the lower part and the loading speed is 40 mm min-1. When the sampling location is the lower part, optimization is carried out assuming the theoretical minimum of the maximum shear force and critical across-compression failure force as the optimization target. In this case, the loading speed is 20 mm min-1, while the water content is between 30 and 50%. This indicates that the parameter range requires a low power consumption during the crushing of film residue mixtures. The test data can provide some theoretical references for the technical research and equipment development for the crushing of film.

Opis:
Introduction: Adults with overweight and obesity (OW/OB) show deficits in inhibitory control, which may be amplified by prolonged sitting. This study tested the acute effects of interrupting 3-h prolonged sitting every 30 min with 3.5-min moderate-intensity physical activity bouts (MPA +SIT) on inhibitory control relative to a sedentary social interaction condition (SOC +SIT) in young and middle-aged adults with OW/OB. Method: Data from 19 adults (63% females; 29.9 ±7.5 years; BMI =30.0 ±3.64 kg*m2) were analysed from the SITLess pilot randomized crossover trial. Inhibitory control was expressed as response accuracy and reaction time (RT) on incongruent trials of a flanker task. Choice RT was expressed as accuracy and RT on congruent trials. Attentional resource allocation and the speed of stimulus evaluation were measured using the amplitude and latency of the P3b component of event-related brain potentials, respectively. Intervention effects were tested using Generalized Linear Mixed Models with Time (pre, post) by Condition (MPA +SIT vs. SOC +SIT) interactions and simple effects within each time point. Results: Participants were faster on incongruent trials after MPA +SIT than SOC +SIT (F(18.0, 54) =5.59, p = 0.02; △M =16.7 ms, 95% CI: 1.64, 31.7). A similar trend (F(18.0, 54) =4.03, p =0.05) emerged for congruent trials (△M =17.3 ms, 95% CI: 5.66, 29.0). P3b amplitude and latency did not differ between conditions or time. Conclusion: Interrupting sitting with short MPA bouts is a viable strategy to prevent a decline in cognitive performance following a continuous bout of sitting in adults with OW/OB. A definitive trial should test its efficacy in enhancing cognitive and brain health in obesity.
