Opis:
Chrysocolla is a kind of copper oxide mineral which was difficult to float. In this study, Diethyldithiocarbamate (DDTC) was employed to modify the surface of chrysocolla to improve its xanthate adsorption and floatability. Flotation experiments showed that the DDTC exhibited ability to activate rather than acting as a collector for chrysocolla flotation. After DDTC activation, chrysocolla can be effectively recovered by xanthate. The activation mechanism of DDTC was investigated via Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). During the activation, DDTC bonded to the surface copper atoms of chrysocolla, and more Cu(II) species on the mineral surface were reduced to Cu(I) species, which caused the formation of larger amounts of Cu active sites as –N–C(=S)S–Cu(II)– and Cu(I) species. The results of the adsorption tests and zeta potential measurements revealed that the DDTC-modified mineral surface reinforced adsorption of xanthate ions, thereby improving the chrysocolla floatability. Therefore, the Cu ions double interaction of DDTC and xanthate on the chrysocolla surfaces enhanced the strength and stability of the hydrophobic layer, resulting in an enhanced hydrophobization of the chrysocolla for its flotation.

Opis:
The flotation separation of fluorite and calcite poses one of the most difficult problems in the mineral processing industry. In particular, the surface homogenization of fluorite and calcite worsens the result of fluorite flotation. In this paper, time of flight secondary ion mass spectrometry and principal component analysis are used to study the surface homogenization of fluorite and calcite during grinding and in solution using X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, infrared spectroscopy, and solution chemical calculations. The results show that the surface composition of calcite converts to fluorite after mixed grinding and that the surface composition of fluorite also converts to calcite in clarified calcite solution.

Opis:
Unconventional oil and gas reservoirs are characterised by low porosity, low permeability and low natural deliverability. At present, horizontal wells staged fracturing is an effective development method. However, in the case of staged hydraulic fracturing in horizontal wells, stress interference occurs between multiple fractures, leading to fracture deformation and even inhibiting the formation of fractures, thereby affecting reservoir production. In this paper, based on the extended finite element method (XFEM), considering the fluid flow in the fracture and fracturing fluid filtration, we analyse the effects of fracturing fluid pumping rate, fracture spacing and elastic modulus on horizontal in-situ stress, fracture parameters and fracture extension pattern during different fracturing initiation processes. The results show that the induced stress generated by the action of fracturing fluid changes the direction of horizontal in-situ stress in the elliptical region around the fracture. In the mode of simultaneous fracture initiation (TFIS), the extension of two symmetrical fractures is “repulsive”; in the mode of two fractures initiated at different times (TFIDT), the extension direction is “mutual attraction”. A large pumping rate and small elastic modulus are conducive to fracture propagation. In the TFIS mode, two fractures alternately expand, while in the TFIDT mode, the impact of rock mechanical properties and construction parameters on fracture propagation will be amplified. The extension of subsequent fractures will be restrained, especially when the fracture spacing is less than 10 m. The width of the previously created fracture will be severely affected, even causing a partial closure and becoming elongated fractures.

Opis:
Fluorite and calcite have similar surface properties and natural floatability, so their flotation separation has always been a problem faced by the beneficiation industry. The key to flotation separation is the choice of depressants. Sodium hexametaphosphate (SHMP) has a good effect on fluorite calcite selective inhibition. In this paper, the effects of Zn2+ on the selective inhibition of SHMP in the flotation process of fluorite and calcite were studied through single mineral and artificial mixed mineral flotation experiments. Solution chemical calculation, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), Fourier Transform Infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) and Time of Flight Secondary Ion Mass Spectrometry (ToF-SIMS) analyses investigated the mechanism of action of Zn2+, which had the most significant negative effect on the selective inhibition of SHMP. The results show that the main components of SHMP inhibiting minerals are HPO42- and H2PO4-, which can react with Ca active sites on the mineral surface to form hydrophilic Ca(H22PO4)2 and CaHPO4, while Zn2+ The presence of HPO42- in solution resulted in the formation of stable ZnHPO4 complexes, thereby weakening the inhibitory effect of SHMP on minerals.

Opis:
In pursuit of a novel approach in breast cancer therapy, we explored the ability of vanadium rutin complex to eradicate cancer by efficiently targeting various apoptotic pathways on human breast cancer cell lines. We provide direct proof of the chemotherapeutic potential of vanadium rutin complex by activating p-53 dependent intrinsic apoptosis and modulating the VEGF pathways. The complex was also capable of binding and cleaving CT-DNA at different concentration. The complex was able to inhibit cell viability at 100 and 150 µM doses in both MCF7 and MDA-MB-231 cells. Furthermore, the complex successfully initiated apoptosis in both cell lines by activating the p53 dependant intrinsic apoptotic pathway. In-vitro studies also established that the complex modulated p53, Bax, Bcl2 and VEGF expressions and induced DNA fragmentation in both the cell lines.

Opis:
The fatigue life prediction of wire ropes has two main characteristics: a large test sample size and uncertain factors. In this paper, based on the small number of wire rope fatigue life data, the grey particle filter method has been used to realize the fatigue life prediction of wire rope under different load conditions. First, the GOM(1,1) model is constructed and the reliability life data of wire rope is predicted under small sample size. Then, P-S-N curve of the dangerous part is determined by combining the equivalent alternating stress of the dangerous part of the wire rope during the fatigue test. Subsequently, the particle filter method is used to modify P-S-N curve. Finally, the fatigue life prediction model of wire rope is obtained based on fatigue damage accumulation, which realized the fatigue life prediction under different load conditions, and the results were compared with that from the test. The results show that the proposed method is effective and has high accuracy in wire rope fatigue life prediction under single, combined loading conditions and small sample size.

Opis:
An ammonium perchlorate (AP, NH4(ClO4)3)-based molecular perovskite energetic material (H2dabco)[NH4(ClO4)3]/carbon nanotubes (DAP/CNTs) composite was prepared and characterized. Molecular perovskite DAP samples were synthesized by a facile one-pot reaction of triethylenediamine, perchloric acid (PCA, HClO4), and AP via a molecular assembly strategy. The results showed that the mechanical sensitivity (impact and friction sensitivities: >120 cm and 20%) and electrostatic spark sensitivity (8.90 J) of the DAP/CNTs energetic composite with 10 wt.% CNTs exhibited less sensitivity than that of DAP (impact, friction and electrostatic spark sensitivities: 112.3 cm, 45%, and 5.39 J, respectively), because of the mixing desensitization mechanism of CNTs. Compared with the pure DAP, the DAP/CNTs energetic composite has better performance with respect to thermal stability, exothermic capacity, and excellent continuous combustion properties. The DAP/CNTs energetic composite has potential application in a weapons system.

Opis:
Obesity-related acute pancreatitis (AP) is characterized by increasing prevalence worldwide and worse clinical outcomes compared to AP of other etiologies. Chaiqin chengqi decoction (CQCQD), a Chinese herbal formula, has long been used for the clinical management of AP but its therapeutic actions and the underlying mechanisms have not been fully elucidated. This study has investigated the pharmacological mechanisms of CQCQD in a novel mouse model of obesity-related alcohol-induced AP (OA-AP). The mouse OA-AP model was induced by a high-fat diet for 12 weeks and subsequently two intraperitoneal injections of ethanol, CQCQD was administered 2 h after the first injection of ethanol. The severity of OA-AP was assessed and correlated with changes in transcriptomic profiles and network pharmacology in the pancreatic and adipose tissues, and further docking analysis modeled the interactions between compounds of CQCQD and their key targets. The results showed that CQCQD significantly reduced pancreatic necrosis, alleviated systemic inflammation, and decreased the parameters associated with multi-organ dysfunction. Transcriptomics and network pharmacology analysis, as well as further experimental validation, have shown that CQCQD induced Nrf2/HO-1 antioxidant protein response and decreased Akt phosphorylation in the pancreatic and adipose tissues. In vitro, CQCQD protected freshly isolated pancreatic acinar cells from $H_{2}O_{2}$-elicited oxidative stress and necrotic cell death. The docking results of AKT1 and the active compounds related to AKT1 in CQCQD showed high binding affinity. In conclusion, CQCQD ameliorates the severity of OA-AP by activating of the antioxidant protein response and down-regulating of the PI3K/Akt signaling pathway in the pancreas and visceral adipose tissue.

Opis:
Background: Potential effect of greenspace exposure on human microbiota have been explored by a number of observational and interventional studies, but the results remained mixed. We comprehensively synthesized these studies by performing a systematic review following Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta- Analyses guidelines. Methods: Comprehensive literature searches in three international databases (PubMed, Embase, and Web of Science) and three Chinese databases (China National Knowledge Infrastructure, Wanfang, and China Biology Medicine disc) were conducted from inception to November 1, 2023. Observational and interventional studies that evaluated associations between greenspace exposure and human microbiota at different anatomical sites were included. Studies were assessed using the National Toxicology Program’s office of Health Assessment and Translation risk of bias tool and certainty of evidence was assessed using the Grading of Recommendations, Assessment, Development and Evaluation framework. Two authors independently performed study selection, data extraction, and risk of bias assessment, and evidence grading. Study results were synthesized descriptively. Results: Twenty studies, including 11 observational studies and 9 interventional studies, were finally included into the systematic review. The microbiota of the included studies was from gut (n = 13), skin (n = 10), oral cavity (n = 5), nasal cavity (n = 5) and eyes (n = 1). The majority of studies reported the associations of greenspace exposure with increased diversity (e.g., richness and Shannon index) and/or altered overall composition of human gut (n = 12) and skin microbiota (n = 8), with increases in the relative abundance of probiotics (e.g., Ruminococcaceae) and decreases in the relative abundance of pathogens (e.g., Streptococcus and Escherichia/Shigella). Due to limited number of studies, evidence concerning greenspace and oral, nasal, and ocular microbiota were still inconclusive.
