Opis:: The article covers the usability of alternative materials in vehicles construction. The paper elaborates upon the setup of the process and analysis of the results of carbon composite component FEM model. The 3D model, used for the examination, is a part of axle from alternative small electric vehicle. The analysis was conducted with the help of MSC Adams and Ansys Workbench software. Color maps of von Mises stress in material and total deformations of the component are the results of calculation.
Artykuł dotyczy możliwości wykorzystania alternatywnych materiałów w konstrukcji pojazdów z wykorzystaniem symulacji MES. Praca opisuje proces przeprowadzanego eksperymentu oraz analizy wyników elementów wykonanych z kompozytu węglowego. Do badań wykorzystano model 3D elementu osi z małego pojazdu elektrycznego o napędzie alternatywnym. Analiza została wykonana przy pomocy oprogramowania MSC Adams i Ansys Workbench. Wynikami obliczeń są mapy naprężeń materiałowych von Misesa oraz całkowitych odkształceń elementu.

Opis:: This article presents a brief overview of weighing systems and devices designed to facilitate fluent and safe road traffic. The number of vehicles on roads is perpetually on the rise, resulting in increased wear of road surfaces. This is why weight check gates have widely been implemented to check the speed and weight of a vehicle against what is permitted by law. A cheaper, albeit more time-consuming, traffic weighing alternative would involve weighing points using weighbridges or mobile axle scales. The second part of this article examines the development of an axle scale. The design and calculation works were performed with the use of the Creo Parametric CAD system and the ANSYS Workbench FEM system.

Opis:: The aim of this paper is to detail the creation of a large tapered roller bearing model with flexible body cages in the Adams program suite for subsequent dynamic analysis and to obtain information about kinematic and dynamic relationships of steel and plastic cages under various operating conditions. The bearing model was made to closely resemble its real-life counterpart, which allows us to estimate load conditions, dynamic conditions of individual bearing parts and interactions between them.

Opis:: Cycloidal (also called epicyclical or convex-concave) gears are used less often than common involute gears, which are very easy to manufacture and can be modified by corrections to the gear profile. Cycloidal gears are very sensitive to the proper axial distance between the pinion and the gear. The main advantage of convex-concave gears is the lowering of the contact pressure due to teeth flanks meshing and also the lowering of the slide ratios compared to involute gears. The calculation of the selected geometrical parameters and the contact pressure between the teeth flanks of the cycloidal gearing is described in the presented article.

Opis:: This article deals with the economizer as one of the main parts of a boiler. Economizers and air heaters perform a key function in providing high overall boiler thermal efficiency by recovering the low level energy from the flue gas before it is exhausted to the atmosphere. The most common and reliable economizer design is the bare-tube, in-line, cross-flow type. To reduce capital costs, most boiler manufacturers build economizers with a variety of designs to enhance the controlling gas-side heat transfer rate. From this point of view it creates a lack for an investigation and modeling of these parts.

Opis:: In the present paper, conventional positron lifetime measurements on selected zirconia-based nanopowders are reported. The nanopowders were doped with various metal cations (Y³⁺, Eu³⁺, Gd³⁺, Lu³⁺ and Mg²⁺). Lifetime experiments were conducted in air and supplemented with mass density measurements. In a range of lifetimes, from a few ns to ≈70 ns, up to two individual lifetime components could be identified. Such observations confirmed positronium (Ps) formation with subsequent ortho-Ps pick-off annihilation as well as the occurrence of pores of different size. Pore sizes were estimated using a shape-free model of the correlation between pore size and ortho-Ps lifetime. The origins of pores are discussed on the basis of the ortho-Ps data in combination with the results of mass density measurements.

Opis:: The operation processes of adsorptive solar refrigerators based on composite adsorbents ‘silica gel - sodium sulphate’ were studied. The correlation between the adsorbent composition and the coefficient of the energy performance of the device was stated. As a consequence of the decreasing of adsorbent mass, the coefficient of performance is increased when sodium sulphate content in the composite increased. Effect of the regeneration process parameters on the composite on the coefficient of performance of the adsorptive refrigenerator was stated. The growth of the coefficient of performance is shown to result from decreasing the difference between adsorbent temperature and regeneration temperature from 85 to 55°C. The maximum values of the coefficient of performance of studied solar adsorptive refrigenerator about of 1.14 are stated for composites containing about 20 wt. % silica gel and 80 wt. % sodium sulphate.
