Opis:: According to the existing literature, the determinants of environmental attitudes and behavior are important. In this paper impact of information technology adoption environment has been investigated. Some of the studies have successfully utilized Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) for adoption behavior. This study proposed TPB to explain IT professionals’ intentions for Green Information Technology (GIT) practices. For this purpose, a survey was conducted among IT professionals from public and private sector organizations. Core factors of TPB were included in the analysis. Overall, results revealed that the TPB model explains behavioral intent, and all four core constructs were significant predictors of the intent. Limitations of the study, and implications for theory are also discussed.
Według wskazań literaturowych, determinanty ekologicznych postaw i zachowań odgrywają istotną rolę w ich kształtowaniu i warto badać wpływ, jaki wywierać może na nie stosowanie technologii informatycznych. W tej pracy wykorzystano teorię planowanego zachowania (Theory of Planned Behavior – TPB), aby wyjaśnić podejście profesjonalistów z zakresu IT do praktyk związanych ze stosowaniem zielonych technologii informatycznych (Green Information Technologies – GIT). Badania wśród pracowników IT przeprowadzono w firmach reprezentujących dwa sektory: państwowym i prywatnym. Otrzymane wyniki pokazały, że model TPB, uwzględniający cztery filary, wyjaśnia determinanty odnoszące się do zachowania. W artykule omówiono także napotkane ograniczenia, a także implikacje dla teorii TPB, które z przeprowadzonych badań wynikają.

Opis:: Economies are increasingly becoming dependent on Information Communication Technology (ICT) and concerns over sustainability have called for the investigation of the relation between sustainability and ICT. While the majority of the studies in this field have an environmentalist focus in this regard, technical, economical and societal concerns on sustainability have arisen in the last decade. Today, more and more studies are addressing the need for the inclusion of sustainability as a design goal for ICT development and for the systems that rely on ICT. Therefore, the integration of education on sustainability in the curriculum is imperative for current and future generations of professionals to accomplish this goal. In this paper, we propose a curriculum for sustainable ICT along with the expected learning outcomes and components. The course design is based on a multi-faceted approach that embraces different viewpoints on sustainability and aims to increase students’ awareness of the complex nature of sustainability.
Świat w coraz większym stopniu zależy od Teleinformatyki (Information Communication Technology, ICT). Warto zadać pytanie o relację pomiędzy zrównoważonym rozwojem a Teleinformatyką. Większość przeprowadzanych badań koncentruje się na aspektach środowiskowych, kwestie techniczne, ekonomiczne i społeczne pozostają w cieniu. Dziś jednak coraz częściej wyrażany jest postulat wskazujący na konieczność uwzględnienia aspektu zrównoważoności w tworzeniu systemów teleinformatycznych i w podsystemach, które są od nich zależne. Dlatego uwzględnienie w programie nauczania problematyki zrównoważoności stanowi imperatyw dla obecnych i przyszłych profesjonalistów. W tym artykule proponujemy program dla zrównoważonej teleinformatyki, uwzględniający zarys treści programowych i efektów kształcenia. Program oparty jest na wieloaspektowym podejściu, obejmującym różne punkty widzenia, którego celem jest zrozumienie przez studentów złożoności problematyki zrównoważonego rozwoju.

Opis:: A two-parameter Lindley distribution, of which the Lindley distribution (LD) is a particular case, has been introduced. Its moments, failure rate function, mean residual life function and stochastic orderings have been discussed. The maximum likelihood method and the method of moments have been discussed for estimating its parameters. The distribution has been fitted to some data-sets to test its goodness of fit.

Opis:: In this paper we deal with a relatively simpler method for the Fourier analysis of EXAFS data and illustrate this by a detailed analysis of the data for cobalt metal foil and cobalt complexes of isoxezol series. The Fourier analysis is useful in extracting distances and information about the phase shifts, the amplitudes, the Debye-Waller factors and the mean free paths. Here we have determined interatomic distances, mean square deviation and inelastic mean free path from the Fourier transform of EXAFS data for cobalt metal foil and cobalt complexes of isoxezol series by Math-CAD programming.

Opis:: We have reported some novel N’-[(1)-ethylidene]-2-(6-methyl-2-oxo-2H-chromen-4-yl) acetohydrazide synthesized by conventional method. The reaction of 2-(6-methyl-2-oxo-2H-chromen-4-yl)acetohydrazide with substituted benzaldehyde in methanol as a solvent yielded a series of (7a-l). The structures of all synthesized compounds are well characterized by Mass, FT-IR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR and elemental analysis. Moreover, all synthesized compounds were screened for in vitro antimicrobial activity against the gram positive (Staphylococcus aureus, Bacilluas subtilis) and gram negative (Escherichia coli, P. aeruginosa, K. pneunonae, Enterobacter) bacterial strain. In which some the compounds show potential inhibition against the test organisms.

Opis:: In the present study a mathematical model for the hydro-magnetic non-Newtonian blood flow in the non-Darcy porous medium with a heat source and Joule effect is proposed. A uniform magnetic field acta perpendicular to the porous surface. The governing non-linear partial differential equations have been solved numerically by applying the explicit finite difference Method (FDM). The effects of various parameters such as the Reynolds number, hydro-magnetic parameter, Forchheimer parameter, Darcian parameter, Prandtl number, Eckert number, heat source parameter, Schmidt number on the velocity, temperature and concentration have been examined with the help of graphs. The present study finds its applications in surgical operations, industrial material processing and various heat transfer operations.

Opis:: In the present study, the effect of multiple part-through cracks on the vibration characteristics of thin isotropic rectangular plate is presented. The proposed analytical model is developed using Kirchhoff’s classical plate theory and the crack terms are formulated using the simplified Line Spring Model (LSM). The application of Berger's formulation helps to transform the derived governing equation in the form of well known Duffing equation with cubic nonlinearities and then the solution for final governing equation is obtained using Galerkin's method for two different boundary conditions. The fundamental frequency of the plate as affected by the number of cracks, cracks length, cracks orientation, and plate aspect ratio for different boundary condition is presented. It is found that the results obtained for natural frequencies are maximally affected by number of cracks, crack length and orientations.

Opis:: Earth System Models (ESM), simulating sea ice and its interaction with the atmosphere and open ocean, require reliable physical, chemical, and biological input from measurements. There is limited data available from the Marginal Ice Zone of the Antarctic, where sea ice growth mechanisms differ from the Arctic. The main objective of this study is to review existing work related to Antarctic sea ice and highlight gaps in the available literature. The mechanical properties of sea ice and the numerical modeling of sea ice across all scales are covered. We summarize the genesis, physical mechanics, static and dynamic properties, strength, toughness, and transport of young sea ice as well as medium to large scale observation. On the computational mechanics side large- and small-scale modeling, ocean-sea ice and atmosphere-sea ice models, as well as sea ice rheology models, sea ice fracture mechanics, and bio-geo-chemical interaction processes are captured. The synergy between the physical and computational mechanics brings to light missing information from both fields. Plain language summary (PLS) Sea ice determines the interaction of the ocean with the atmosphere in both the southern and northern hemispheres. Its formation and annual development is subject to mechanical interaction with ocean currents and winds. This review covers the mechanics of sea ice in the Antarctic and its relation to the Arctic covering experiment and modelling. Impact on the climate is discussed.

Opis:: A simple correlation between the high-frequency refractive index and electronegativity difference has been established for large number of $A^{N}B^{8-N}$ type binary semiconductors. The proposed relation has been applied satisfactorily to evaluate the refractive index of binary semiconductors belonging to groups I-VII, II-VI, III-V and IV-VI. The estimated values of refractive index from present relation are utilized to calculate the electronic polarizability of compounds by applying the Lorentz-Lorentz formula. Our calculated values of refractive index and electronic polarizability are in good agreement with the values evaluated by earlier researchers.
