Opis:
There is growing awareness across the neuroscience community that the replicability offindings about the relationship between brain activity and cognitive phenomena can beimproved by conducting studies with high statistical power that adhere to well-defined and standardised analysis pipelines. Inspired by recent efforts from the psychological sciences, and with the desire to examine some of the foundational findings using electroencephalog-raphy (EEG), we have launched #EEGManyLabs, a large-scale international collaborativereplication effort. Since its discovery in the early 20th century, EEG has had a profound in-fluence on our understanding of human cognition, but there is limited evidence on thereplicability of some of the most highly cited discoveries. After a systematic search and selection process, we have identified 27 of the most influential and continually cited studies inthe field. We plan to directly test the replicability of key findings from 20 of these studies inteams of at least three independent laboratories. The design and protocol of each replicationeffort will be submitted as a Registered Report and peer-reviewed prior to data collection.Prediction markets, open to all EEG researchers, will be used as a forecasting tool to examinewhich findings the community expects to replicate. This project will update our confidence insome of the most influential EEG findings and generate a large open access database that canbe used to inform future research practices. Finally, through this international effort, we hopeto create a cultural shift towards inclusive, high-powered multi-laboratory collaborations.

Opis:
Carissa carandas are important medicinal plants in Tamil Nadu. The entire plant has medicinal values. Carissa carandas plants are used to cure various diseases such as asthma, skin disease, cough, cold and tuberculosis. They usually are prepared as fresh juices rather than boiling water and decoction leaves and flowers of Carissa carandas. The juice from the leaves play an important role in this matter. Usually about 30 ml of the juice is taken thrice a day with honey, acting as relieving agent for irritable cough due to its soothing action on the nerve and by liquefying the sputum, which makes expectoration easier. Carissa carandas are important traditional remedies in Tamil Nadu.

Opis:
In the present investigation, a comparative study was made on the effect of exogenous addition of sodium chloride on net leaf photosynthesis (CO2 uptake) in Aegiceras corniculatum (L.) Blanco, a dicotyledonous mangrove species. The net leaf photosynthesis of A. corniculatum was modified in the presence of sodium chloride, it may be called a preferential halophyte. Salinity is one of the most significant environmental challenges also abiotic constraints limiting plant productivity. A. corniculatum could tolerate up to 800 mM sodium chloride concentrations. The net leaf photosynthesis rate was increased with increasing NaCl salinity up to 400 mM. This concentration was found to be the optimum salinity level for this species. In conclusion, it may be inferred that sodium chloride promoted the photosynthesis concentrations upto optimum level of 400 mM in Aegiceras corniculatum (L.) Blanco. beyond 400 mM NaCl decreased the CO2 uptake. The maximum photosynthetic obtained at 400 mM NaCl on the l20th day.
