Opis:
In this paper, an outlook about the present of electrical aviation is given. The relatively small energy density of current battery technologies is adequate to build usable electric car, but not suitable for electric aircraft. Because of the very limited amount of energy available on-board, a couple of percent in efficiency can give significant increase in range and flight time, hence the development of more efficient propulsion system and E-motor is as important as the development of battery technologies. Current research results at the University of Dunaujvaros show, that building E-motors from amorphous materials is possible, and can easily increase the efficiency of high speed E-motors.

Researching the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina as a region of Serbia and an European Union (EU) border region, we have long been concerned with the raison d’être of cross-border programmes, their impact, sustainability and long-term results. Against that background, the current study is focused on the results of the 2014-2020 cycle. The region of Vojvodina has neighbouring external borders with three EU Member States. While the partner countries have already applied for almost 100% of the available amounts, the implementation of projects and thus the payment of grants is only 50% effected so far. Our intention has been to examine the Vojvodina region in terms of cross-border programmes based on already completed projects and running along the lines of different Priorities. The Programme Areas of the four (Hungarian-Serbian, Croatian-Serbian, Romanian-Serbian and Serbia-Bosnia and Hercegovina) Cross-border cooperation programmes do overlap significantly. Primarily, we have been researching the territorial distribution of each, by reference to the locations of project owners and of project activities; as well as the related networking character of the projects implemented in Vojvodina in the Interreg-IPA (Instrument for Pre-accession Assistance) 2014-2020 programming period. It is then in this context that we examine the focal and connection points of the cross-border connections, in this way potentially indicating deficiencies in regard to sustainable project implementation. Without claiming to be exhaustive, we have also sought to reference impeding circumstances relating to a barrier effect that is obviously of particular importance given the fact that external borders of the EU are involved.

Opis:
The optimal execution of decompressive craniectomy in terms of the size and location of the skull opening is not straightforward. Our main goals are twofold: (1) constructing a design optimization method which can be applied to determine optimal skull opening for individual patient-specific cases and (2) performing a large-scale parametric optimization study to give some guidance in general about the optimal skull opening in case of oedematous brain tissue. Methods: A large number of virtual experiments performed by finite element simulations were applied to determine tendencies of tissue behaviour during surgery. The multiobjective optimization is performed by Goal Programming and Physical Programming methods. Results: Our results show that the postoperative pressure has an approximately linear dependence on the preoperative pressure and the skull opening area, while the damaged brain volume could have a more complex nonlinear dependence on the input data. Based on the averaged results of the parametric optimization study, the optimal skull opening has been determined in the function of the preoperative pressure and the relative importance of the pressure reduction. These results show that the optimal size of the unilateral skull opening is usually between 130–180 cm2 and these openings are more beneficial than the currently analysed bifrontal openings. Conclusions: The optimal skull opening is patient-specific and depends on several input data. The presented methodology can be applied to optimize surgery based on these input parameters for different injury types. Based on the results of large-scale parametric study generally applicable approximate results have been provided.

Opis:
Genetic polymorphism at the β-lactoglobulin (β-LG) loci in indigenous sheep breeds (Tsigai, Racka, Pramenka) was determined. Altogether 904 sheep were genotyped for the presence of the A, B and C alleles of β-lactoglobulin by PCR-RFLP. The AB genotype was the most common and the β-lactoglobulin A was the most frequent in the Cokanski Tsigai (54%), while the B allele was the most common in the Rusty and the Zomborski Tsigai (59%, 60%). The C allele was found only in one individual from Serbian Cokanski flock. These results differ from those that refer to other native sheep breeds. In the Cokanski Tsigai, deviation from the Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium was detected. Genetic relationship based on β-lactoglobulin polymorphism was the closest between the Rusty and the Cokanski Tsigai among the studied populations and between sheep and goat among the other ruminants. Part of the promoter region (254 bp) of β-LG in studied sheep breeds were sequenced in order to identify polymorphisms, analyze haplotypes, and phylogenetic relationship among them. Sequencing analysis and alignment of the obtained sequences showed one haplotype. Analysis of more samples and longer parts of the promoter region of β-LG are needed to reconstruct a phylogenetic tree.
