Opis:: A scheme is presented to generate an entangled atomic state, for which the quantum phase affects the atom-atom entanglement when the atom interacts with external light fields. The quantum phase enhances the entanglement and extends the time that the system stays in stronger entanglement state or the phase makes the system more robust. It is also shown that the quantum phase is able to delay the entanglement sudden death and hasten the entanglement revival.

Opis:: Co-crystallization is proposed as an effective method to alter the physicochemical properties of energetic materials, e.g. density, sensitivity and solubility. As reported in this paper, it was found that 1-nitronaphthalene could form cocrystals with TNT, picric acid and MHN in a 1:1 molecular ratio. The sensitivity and thermal stability of the 1-nitronaphthalene co-crystals was greatly improved compared with that of pure TNT, picric acid and MHN. In addition, the melting points of TNT, picric acid and MHN were lowered through co-crystallization with 1-nitronaphthalene. The electrostatic potential surface of 1-nitronaphthalene, calculated by the DFT method, showed that the electron-rich 1-nitronaphthalene has a tendency to be a proton donor and to co-crystallize with other energetic materials. The structures of the co-crystals of 1-nitronaphthalene with TNT and picric acid were characterized by single crystal X-ray diffraction (SXRD). The 1-nitronaphthalene/MHN co-crystal was studied by powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and FTIR.

Opis:: Orchard development on eroded uplands is considered as a successful method in integrating soil erosion treatment with economic development in many developing countries. However, much attention focused on its present achievements without thinking over the economic viability over long plantation duration. Orchards that have not been intensified seem to be threatened by complete abandonment. To illustrate the economic viability and sustain-ability of orchard management, we have deliberately focused on a case study in Southeast China. The results of economic viability based on a cost-benefit analysis showed that orchard management was barely economically sustainable. Their viability is assured if reduced labor costs and increased fruit price are accepted. Based on these results, recommendations are made to prevent the abandonment of orchards on degraded uplands and to preserve its environmental benefits.
Tworzenie sadów na zerodowanych wyżynach w wielu krajach rozwijających się jest traktowane jako metoda udanie łączącą zintegrowane przeciwdziałanie erozji gleb z rozwojem ekonomicznym. Niestety, zbyt mocno podkreśla się znacznie szybkich osiągnięć, bez rozważania kontekstu wieloletniej opłacalności takich działań. Sady, których nie poddano modyfikacjom, opuszczono. By zilustrować ekonomiczną sensowność i zrównoważoność zarządzania sadami, wybrano jako case study obszar płd.-wsch. Chin. Rezultaty oceny opartej na analizie kosztów i korzyści wykazały, że zarządzanie sadami okazuje się być słabo ekonomicznie zrównoważone. Opłacalność zostałaby zapewniona w przypadku obniżenia kosztów pracy i podniesienia cen owoców. Na podstawie przeprowadzonych badań przedstawiono rekomendacje, których uwzględnienie umożliwiłoby zaprzestanie procederu rezygnacji z prowadzenia sadów na terenach zdegradowanych wyżyn i utrzymanie korzyści środowiskowych.

Opis:: Scanning tunneling microscopy studies have revealed a periodic step-terrace structure in the (100) surface of the Ag-In-Yb 1/1 cubic approximant. The step height between the large terraces is about 0.73 nm, approximately one-half of the lattice constant, which is consistent with the bcc-like crystalline structure of this crystal. Two small terraces are observed between the adjacent large terraces. High-resolution STM images of the large terrace exhibit a square lattice of protrusions with a lattice constant of about 1.55 nm, which is consistent with the bulk lattice constant. The scanning tunneling microscopy results suggest that the large terraces are associated with the planes that intersect the centers of rhombic triacontrahedral clusters (the building unit of the crystal) and show the highest atomic density along the [100] axis. It is highly likely that the small terraces are related to moderate atomic density planes and are less stable than the large terraces.

Opis:: Classical probability theory has been widely used in reliability analysis; however, it is hard to handle when the system is lack of` adequate and sufficient data. Nowadays, alternative approaches such as possibility theory and fuzzy set theory have also been proposed to analyze vagueness and epistemic uncertainty regarding reliability aspects of complex and large systems. The model presented in this paper is based upon possibility theory and multistate assumption. Convex sublattice is addressed on congruence relation regarding the complete lattice of structure functions. The relations between the equivalence classes on the congruence relation and the set of all structure functions are established. Furthermore, important reliability bounds can be derived under the notion of convex sublattice. Finally, a numerical example is given to illustrate the results.
Klasyczna teoria prawdopodobieństwa ma szerokie zastosowanie w analizie niezawodności, jednak trudno jest się nią posługiwać, kiedy brak jest wystarczających i odpowiednich danych na temat systemu. Obecnie, proponuje się alternatywne podejścia, takie jak teoria możliwości czy teoria zbiorów rozmytych, za pomocą których można analizować niepewność epistemiczną oraz nieostrość w odniesieniu do aspektów niezawodności złożonych i dużych systemów. Model przedstawiony w niniejszym artykule oparto na teorii możliwości oraz na założeniu wielostanowości. Podkratę wklęsłą opisano na relacji kongruencji, odnoszącej się do całej kraty funkcji struktury. Ustalono relacje pomiędzy klasami równoważności na relacji kongruencji a zbiorem wszystkich funkcji struktury. Ponadto posługując się pojęciem podkraty wypukłej można wyprowadzać istotne kresy niezawodności. Wyniki zilustrowano przykładem numerycznym.

Opis:: Przy rozwiązywaniu problemów praktycznych w inżynierii przemysłowej można czasami pominąć bądź opóźnić efekt uszkodzenia jeśli ma on niewielki wpływ na system. Ściślej, wiodące cechy systemu można opisać w następujący sposób: 1) jeżeli czas naprawy jest wystarczająco krótki (krótszy niż pewna wartość progowa), tak iż nie ma on wpływu na działanie systemu, to można pominąć negatywny efekt uszkodzenia systemu. Przy takim czasie naprawy można uznać że system nie przerwał działania. Nazywa się go wtedy systemem z pominięciem czasu naprawy (pominięty efekt uszkodzenia). 2) Jeżeli czas naprawy jest dłuższy niż dana wartość progowa i efekt uszkodzenia staje się w końcu odczuwalny, to uznajemy, że system pozostawał aktywny od początkowego etapu naprawy aż do momentu, w którym został przekroczony próg czasu naprawy. Nazywa się go wtedy systemem z opóźnionym efektem uszkodzenia. W oparciu o powyższe dwie charakterystyki, wprowadzono w prezentowanej pracy model systemu naprawialnego. Omówiono dwa scenariusze, w których, odpowiednio, przyjęto, że wartość progowa jest wartością stałą lub nieujemną zmienną losową. Sformułowano wskaźniki niezawodnościowe, takie jak posybilistyczna gotowość chwilowa, dla systemu z pominiętym lub opóźnionym efektem uszkodzenia.
Within the practical problems in industrial engineering, the failure effect sometimes can be omitted or delayed if it has less effect on the system. In detail, the prominent features of the system can be described as follows: 1) if a repair time is sufficiently short (less than some threshold value) that does not affect the system operation, i.e. the pessimistic effect of system failure could be ignored. The system can be considered as operating during this repair time. It is called the system with repair time omission (failure effect omitted). 2) if a repair time is longer than the given threshold value and the failure effect is finally suffered. Then the system can be considered to remain operating from the initial stage of the repair till the end of the repair threshold. It is called the system with delayed failure effect. Based on the above two characteristics, model for the related repairable system is introduced in this paper. Two scenarios are discussed where the threshold value is regarded as a constant and non-negative random variable, respectively. Reliability indices such as instantaneous possibilistic availability are formulated for the system with failure effect omitted or delayed.
