Opis:
We study revival and fractional revival phenomena of wave packets in a one-dimensional Rydberg atom irradiated by two time-delayed half-cycle pulses using an autocorrelation function characterized by electronic transition probabilities as weighting factors rather than modeling them by a Gaussian or Lorentzian distribution. If the momentum $(q_2)$ delivered to the atom by the second kick is much smaller than that $(q_1)$ imparted by the first one, the times of revival and fractional revival coincide with those of the single kicked atom. For $q_2$ ≥ $q_{1}//4$ appearance of revival and fractional revival depends on both the values of $q_2$ and time delay $t_1$ between the pulses but more sensitively on $t_1$. The number of fractional revivals tends to become numerous as the value of $t_1$ increases.

Opis:
We present a precise measurement of double-polarization asymmetries in the $^{3}\vec{He} \left ( \vec{e}, {e}'d \right )$ reaction. This particular process is a uniquely sensitive probe of hadron dynamics in $^{3}He$ and the structure of the underlying electromagnetic currents. The measurements have been performed in and around quasielastic kinematics at $Q^{2}=0.25(GeV/c)^{2}$ for missing momenta up to 270  MeV/c. The asymmetries are in fair agreement with the state-of-the-art calculations in terms of their functional dependencies on $p_{m}$ and $\omega$ , but are systematically offset. Beyond the region of the quasielastic peak, the discrepancies become even more pronounced. Thus, our measurements have been able to reveal deficiencies in the most sophisticated calculations of the three-body nuclear system, and indicate that further refinement in the treatment of their two-and/or three-body dynamics is required.

Opis:
Thirty healthy trammers were examined in underground haulage mines during their normal activity. Physiological strain in terms of heart rate (HR) varied between 101.6 and 104.7 beats/min with mean net cardiac cost of 33.06 and 34.06 beats/min for younger and older groups respectively. The average relative cardiac cost was lower for younger subjects than for older ones. Oxygen consumption (VO2) was measured with an Oxylog-II machine (UK); subsequently values were estimated. Maximum aerobic capacity was estimated with an indirect method following a standard step test protocol. The responses revealed that the average VO2 during the activity was 0.75 and 0.8 L/min, which corresponded to energy expenditure (EE) of 3.8 and 3.97 Kcal/min for younger and older subjects respectively. The workload in terms of HR and EE was moderate, whereas the aerobic strain experienced by aged workers was above the acceptable level.

Opis:
Soil temperature is an important factor in biogeochemical processes. On-site monitoring of soil temperature is limited in spatio-temporal scale as compared to air temperature data inventories due to various management difficulties. Therefore, empirical models were developed by taking 30-year long-term (1985-2014) air and soil temperature data for prediction of soil temperatures at three depths (5, 15, 30 cm) in morning (0636 Indian standard time) and afternoon (1336 Indian standard time) for alluvial soils in lower Indo-Gangetic plain. At 5 cm depth, power and exponential regression models were best fitted for daily data in morning and afternoon, respectively, but it was reverse at 15 cm. However, at 30 cm, exponential models were best fitted for both the times. Regression analysis revealed that in morning for all three depths and in afternoon for 30 cm depth, soil temperatures (daily, weekly, and monthly) could be predicted more efficiently with the help of corresponding mean air temperature than that of maximum and minimum. However, in afternoon, prediction of soil temperature at 5 and 15 cm depths were more precised for all the time intervals when maximum air temperature was used, except for weekly soil temperature at 15 cm, where the use of mean air temperature gave better prediction.
