Opis:
This study aimed to develop a hydrologic model for the central region (central catchments) located between Dokan and Al-Dibis dams in the Lesser Zab River (LZR) watershed, in Iraq. The hydrologic structure of the study area was prepared based on the DEM layer with 12.5 m spatial resolution by using the GIS environment, and then the HEC-HMS software was used for simulating the main hydrological processes like the infiltration losses, transformation, channel routing, and the baseflow contribution by using the SCS-CN, SCS-UH, Muskingum, and the Recession methods respectively. The corrections of the CN parameter due to the effects of the slope and initial abstraction were used and the resulting CN values for the entire LZR watershed were ranging from 56 to 100. This study concluded the effectivity of using the GIS environment and HEC-HMS software in the continuous rainfall-runoff modelling and achieved very good performance with R2 and NSE criteria of 0.9115 and 0.9 under the calibration phase, while 0.925 and 0.91 values were achieved for the same criteria under the validation phase respectively, also the CN was the most sensitive parameter in the proposed hydrologic model.

Opis:
The goal of this paper is to study the Nd:YAG laser interaction with the ZnO nanomaterial by etching the ZnO nanodisc surface. The preparation of ZnO nanodisc is studied also and the setup which we use in previous experiment published in the (IJRRR, Vol. X, Issue 1, March 2017) is used also. The interaction is done under vacuum conditions with high pressure in the range of (10-3) Tor. The main target of the paper is to study the plasma generated from the etching of the ZnO nanodisc by Nd:YAG laser.

Opis:
This study assessed the quality of groundwater in south of Basrah governorate from three regions (Zubair, Safwan and um-Qaser), as well as its expediency for drinking purposes and irrigation. Fifty groundwater specimens from various locations were, whereas their physical and chemical parameters were assessed. The WQI was used to measure overall water quality, and the results were displayed using GIS. The calculation of the Water Quality Index (WQI) took twelve physiochemical parameters into account, including pH, EC, TDS, TH, Ca+2, Mg+2, Na+, K+, SO4-2, Cl-, HCO3- and NO3-. The groundwater in Basrah was found to be of generally low quality, with significant levels of salinity, hardness, and TDS. The groundwater in the research region was not fit for human consumption, according to (WHO, 2011) standards for drinking water. Applying WQI revealed that, with the exception of two wells, the ground water in the research area was classed as very poor-unsuitable type. The GIS analysis assisted in identifying the places with the best water quality and those with the most serious issues. The groundwater of research region was used for irrigation purposes. The indices considered included SAR, SSP AND MH%. The groundwater from the study area is generally in good condition and may be utilized for irrigation, as shown by the estimated water indices when compared to the accepted standards.

Opis:
According to United Nations reports, natural disasters caused, worldwide, approximately 100,000 deaths and affected 175 million people each year between 2004 and 2013. To reduce those numbers, countries around the globe have made specific arrangements enabling them to warn the population about imminent disasters, in order to evacuate the area in due time. But providing such warnings in areas where no Internet access is available poses a great challenge. In this paper, we proposed a method to transmit early warning messages via UMTS cellular networks, while relying on spare extensions of control channels (FACH). The results obtained are validate based on their comparison with theoretical considerations and are also benchmarked against the 3GPP standard. The results show that messages may be sent faster than with the use of the 3GPP standard.

Opis:
This study proposed holistic human resource development model in health sector. This study focused on human resources (HR) managers and the top management of the health sector in Pakistan. Using a qualitative methodology, the researcher focused on the selected phenomenological method. In this study, primary data collection was conducted through personal interviews with human resource managers and the top management of three health organizations in Pakistan. With regard to the sampling technique, the study would be based on a specific sampling. This article presents the results of the three research objectives. The first research objective examines the development and implementation process of the human resource development model in organizations. Second, intelligence quotient and emotion quotient programs are defined by organizations within the current human resource development models. Third, this study examines the organization's understanding of spiritual quotient and evaluates awareness of the importance of spiritual quotient for the development of human resource development model. It suggests that spiritual quotient is an important part of organizational development.
W badaniu zaproponowano holistyczny model rozwoju zasobów ludzkich w sektorze opieki zdrowotnej. To badanie koncentrowało się na menedżerach ds. Zasobów ludzkich (HR) i najwyższym kierownictwie sektora opieki zdrowotnej w Pakistanie. Korzystając z metodologii jakościowej, badacz skoncentrował się na wybranej metodzie fenomenologicznej. W tym badaniu gromadzono dane pierwotne w drodze wywiadów osobistych z menedżerami ds. Zasobów ludzkich i najwyższym kierownictwem trzech organizacji zdrowotnych w Pakistanie. W odniesieniu do techniki pobierania próbek badanie opierałoby się na konkretnym pobieraniu próbek. W tym artykule przedstawiono wyniki trzech celów badawczych. Pierwszy cel badawczy dotyczy procesu opracowywania i wdrażania modelu rozwoju zasobów ludzkich w organizacjach. Po drugie, iloraz inteligencji i iloraz emocji są definiowane przez organizacje w ramach obecnych modeli rozwoju zasobów ludzkich. Po trzecie, badanie to bada zrozumienie ilorazu duchowego przez organizację i ocenia świadomość znaczenia ilorazu duchowego dla rozwoju modelu rozwoju zasobów ludzkich. Sugeruje, że iloraz duchowy jest ważną częścią rozwoju organizacji.

Opis:
Biomass is an inexpensive adsorbent that has attracted considerable interest. The sol-gel process produced xerogel from palm kernel shell biochar (PKSB). This study aimed to synthesize and characterize palm kernel shell biochar xerogel (PKSBX) and compare it with commercial (AC). The synthesized xerogel, raw material, and AC were characterized using different characterization, including thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR), Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET), and Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM). The FTIR spectrum analysis showed a wide range of bonds and confirmed the presence of C=C alkenes, amines N-H, and aromatic C-H functional groups. TGA analysis of samples was conducted at 10℃/min. The thermal degradation of the sample undergoes several setups of loss mass. The degrades occurred between 50200℃ first setups, second between 200–700℃, and third setups between 950–1000℃. The surface morphological structure of each sample has been defined and compared using SEM data, which is further confirmed by XRD data. On the basis of on the characterization findings, it can be determined that the xerogel obtained from the synthesis process using PKSB as the raw material exhibits favorable characteristics for its potential usage as an adsorbent.

Background The burden of cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) remains unclear in many regions of the world. Objectives The GBD (Global Burden of Disease) 2015 study integrated data on disease incidence, prevalence, and mortality to produce consistent, up-to-date estimates for cardiovascular burden. Methods CVD mortality was estimated from vital registration and verbal autopsy data. CVD prevalence was estimated using modeling software and data from health surveys, prospective cohorts, health system administrative data, and registries. Years lived with disability (YLD) were estimated by multiplying prevalence by disability weights. Years of life lost (YLL) were estimated by multiplying age-specific CVD deaths by a reference life expectancy. A sociodemographic index (SDI) was created for each location based on income per capita, educational attainment, and fertility. Results In 2015, there were an estimated 422.7 million cases of CVD (95% uncertainty interval: 415.53 to 427.87 million cases) and 17.92 million CVD deaths (95% uncertainty interval: 17.59 to 18.28 million CVD deaths). Declines in the age-standardized CVD death rate occurred between 1990 and 2015 in all high-income and some middle-income countries. Ischemic heart disease was the leading cause of CVD health lost globally, as well as in each world region, followed by stroke. As SDI increased beyond 0.25, the highest CVD mortality shifted from women to men. CVD mortality decreased sharply for both sexes in countries with an SDI >0.75. Conclusions CVDs remain a major cause of health loss for all regions of the world. Sociodemographic change over the past 25 years has been associated with dramatic declines in CVD in regions with very high SDI, but only a gradual decrease or no change in most regions. Future updates of the GBD study can be used to guide policymakers who are focused on reducing the overall burden of noncommunicable disease and achieving specific global health targets for CVD.
