Opis:
A study of the management of the processes of regulation of remuneration in the context of ensuring the personnel security of enterprises proves that there is a close link between these management objects, which is conditioned by internal and external factors. The structural and functional components of the reference model of wage regulation have been determined, which makes it possible to form an effective motivational mechanism, increase labor productivity, ensure personnel safety and competitiveness of the enterprise. The formed model of regulatory management of remuneration with the definition of synergistic effect allows to determine the sequence of processes on the organization of work of the mechanism of regulation of remuneration in the context of ensuring personnel security. The conducted cluster analysis allows to evaluate the enterprises of the regions of Ukraine by the level of regulation of remuneration and personnel threats.

Opis:
This paper reports the Wave 2 expansion of the Multilingual Eye-Movement Corpus (MECO), a collaborative multi-lab project collecting eye-tracking data on text reading in a variety of languages. The present expansion comes with new eye-tracking data of N = 654 from 13 languages, collected in 16 labs over 15 countries, including in several languages that have little to no representation in current eye-tracking studies on reading. MECO also contains demographic, language use, and other individual differences data. This paper makes available the first-language reading data of MECO Wave 2 and incorporates reliability estimates of all tests at the participant and item level, as well as other methods of data validation. It also reports the descriptive statistics on all languages, including comparisons with prior similar data, and outlines directions for potential reuse.

Opis:
This paper reports an expansion of the English as a second language (L2) component of the Multilingual Eye Movement Corpus (MECO L2), an international database of eye movements during text reading. While the previous Wave 1 of the MECO project (Kuperman et al., 2023) contained English as a L2 reading data from readers with 12 different first language (L1) backgrounds, the newly collected dataset adds eye-tracking data on English text reading from 13 distinct L1 backgrounds as well as participants’ scores on component skills of English proficiency and information about their demographics and language background and use. The paper reports reliability estimates, descriptive statistics, and correlational analyses as means to validate the expansion dataset. Consistent with prior literature and the MECO Wave 1, trends in the MECO Wave 2 data include a weak correlation between reading comprehension and oculomotor measures of reading fluency and a greater L1-L2 contrast in reading fluency than reading comprehension. Jointly with Wave 1, the MECO project includes English reading data from more than 1,200 readers representing a diversity of native writing systems (logographic, abjad, abugida, and alphabetic) and 19 distinct L1 backgrounds. We provide multiple pointers to new venues of how L2 reading researchers can mine this rich publicly available dataset.

Opis:
The article explores COVID-19 related Internet memes and treats them as samples of creolized text in a study of the way ethnic and cultural peculiarities of memes are perceived by representatives of two radically different cultural paradigms: the Russians and Chinese. A survey is used as a method of the investigation. Russian and Chinese students, and visual arts experts evaluated Russian and Chinese COVID-19 memes according to several criteria concerning their content, verbal constituent element and visual characteristics. The study concluded that the social and culture-specific components mostly contribute to forming the opinion of the meme and its appreciation. Awareness of both the cultural background and the current social and nation-specific situation is required to decode a full amount of information contained in a meme. Equally important is the visual component in understanding the meme. Thus, the study contributes not only to studying event-specific memes but also broadens the scope of research on memes as a sample of visual culture.

Opis:
Crystallization of Ce2Ti2O7 in the mixture of TiO2 and CeO2 has been achieved by the three-layered coating of cerium - titanium mixed sol of the 1 : 1 metal molar ratio on a glass substrate after thermal treatment of interlayers at 300°C or 600°C and the last layer at 450°C or 600°C in the air as proven by XRD, SAED and Raman spectroscopy. The monoclinic and its mixture with pyrochlore crystal structures are formed in the case of the last layer heating at 450°C and 600°C, respectively. It is shown that Ce ions retarded TiO2 crystallization, leading to the increase in the specific surface area of some films that, in turn, depends on the calcination temperature. The formation of Ti-O Ce bonds on the surface of the films was proven by the noticeable shift of Ti2p and O1s XPS maxima compared to TiO2 ones. The additional peaks in Ti2p, O1s and Ce3d XPS spectra belonging to the common bonds between the metal ions are identified for the first time. The preferential formation of Ti-O-Ce fragments at the treatment of all layers at 600°C is noted. The bandgap energy and band-edge positions of Ce2Ti2O7 were firstly determined by photoelectrochemical measurements. The inactivity of the films in photocatalytic reductive and oxidative processes is caused by the unfavorable position of the valence band causing the recombination of the photoformed electron-hole pair.
