Opis:
Artykuł przedstawia teoretyczne założenia i praktyczne zastosowania gender mainstreaming i gender budgeting. Są to programy wyrównawcze, inicjowane przez Unię Europejską, których celem są aktywizacja obywatelska oraz promowanie takich wartości jak: równość, konsensus, dialog i porozumienie, sprawiedliwe traktowanie, proporcjonalny podział i dystrybucja dóbr lub kapitałów (nie tylko finansowych, lecz także kulturowych i społecznych). Programy te obejmują szereg zinstytucjonalizowanych instrukcji i zaleceń, stworzonych po to, by poprawić sytuację społeczno-polityczno-ekonomiczną wszystkich obywateli, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem kobiet. Ukierunkowanie na kobiety wynika z faktu, że w wielu krajach członkowskich UE (pomimo obowiązującego ustawodawstwa antydyskryminacyjnego oraz istnienia licznych instytucji stojących na jego straży) stanowią one grupę defaworyzowaną i marginalizowaną w sferze publicznej.
The article presents the theoretical assumptions and practical applications of gender mainstreaming and gender budgeting. These are compensatory programs initiated by the European Union, which aim is to stimulate and promote civic equality, fairness, proportional distribution of wealth. They include a number of institutional measures aimed at improving the social situation of all citizens, with particular attention to the situation of women, because women – in many countries of the European Union – are disfavored.

Opis:
Artykuł dotyczy związku pomiędzy uwodzeniem a grą. Oba mechanizmy mają wiele wspólnego, ponieważ opierają się na podobnej strategii, formie i treści. Uwodzenie jest tu interpretowane (na podstawie teorii Jeana Baudrillarda) jako siła odpychania i przyciągania, która wykracza nie tylko poza seksualność, lecz także poza rzeczywistość. Uwodzenie jest kontinuum gry, w której wcześniejszy ruch determinuje następne, a pokusa wzmaga żądanie gracza.
The article deals with the relationship between seduction and play. Both mechanisms have much in common, because they are based on a similar strategy, form, and content. Seduction in this article is interpreted (based on theory of J. Baudrillard) as the force of repulsion and attraction that goes not only beyond sexuality, but also outside of reality. Seduction is a continuum of game where the earlier motion determines the next, and the temptation determines the player’s request.

Opis:
The paper is a report on the quantitative research of civil activity of women in the Province of Silesia (N = 200). Research technique used here is CATI (Computer Assisted Telephone Interview). The starting point of the proposal is conceptualisation of term of active citizenship and subsequently identification specific indicators that will be taken to represent the phenomenon explored (such as political participation, interest in government, law enforcement, altruism and volunteering, trust in people and institutions, and the use of the privileges of direct democracy).The article shows the importance of this project for development of civil society in Poland and the possibility of change that can be achieved in this way.

Artykuł dotyczy związku między agresją a płcią, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem różnic płciowych w przejawianiu agresji oraz skłonności do zachowań przemocowych. Od co najmniej kilku lat badacze zajmujący się problematyką płci w społeczeństwie zwracają uwagę, że społeczne funkcjonowanie człowieka (zajmowane pozycje, pełnione role, osiągane statusy) jest zdeterminowane przez przynależność do którejś z płci. Różnice płciowe kształtują odmienne modele zachowań, działań oraz interakcji wśród kobiet i mężczyzn. Konsekwencją tych różnic są odmienne potrzeby, interesy, systemy komunikacji i ekspresji, style rozwiązywania problemów czy konfliktów, sposoby radzenia sobie ze stresem. Kobiecość i męskość stanowią binarne, opozycyjne wobec siebie, konstrukcje społeczno-kulturowe, czego odzwierciedleniem są różnice w ujawnianiu lub rozładowaniu agresji.
The article deals with the relationship between aggression and gender, with particular emphasis on gender differences referring to the way in which aggression is shown and to the propensity for violent behaviour it affects. For at least several years, researchers examining gender in society have indicated that human social functioning (i.e. positions occupied, roles performed, status achieved) is determined by the gender to which one belongs. Gender differences generate different types of behaviour, actions and interactions between men and women. As a consequence of these differences, there are different needs, interests, systems of communication and expression, problem-solving and conflict-solving styles, ways of coping with stress. Femininity and masculinity are sociocultural structures in binary opposition to each other, reflected by differences between the ways aggression is released or unloaded.

The purpose of this article is to present the relationship between gender budgeting (GB) and the economic function in the household and family life. The discussed dependency concerns the division of budgetary resources withparticular reference to gender. This strategy assumes a balanced distribution of resources and a fair distribution of goods, funds and capital in order to reduce any inequalities resulting from distinctions or gender divisions,and then to eliminate discrimination in the area of private economics and supply.

Artykuł przedstawia – w oparciu o socjologiczną teorię konfliktu – znaczenie, role i funkcje ruchów miejskich w procesie artykułowania i rozwiązywania problemów społecznych, które pojawiają się w mieście i dotyczą jego mieszkańców. Zastosowanie podejścia konfliktowego jest podwójnie uzasadnione. Po pierwsze miasto jest traktowane (za D. Harvey’em) jako obszar konfliktów i napięć, które mają podłoże ekonomiczne i klasowe. Po drugie ruchy miejskie są rozumiane (za A. Touraine’em) jako przejaw konfliktu społecznego, polegającego na podziale społeczeństwa na dwie opozycyjne wobec siebie grupy, poróżnione przez obiekt walki, nad którym próbują przejąć kontrolę. Cechą konstytutywną tego konfliktu jest to, że dotyczy on realnych (zorganizowanych) aktorów społecznych oraz jest ukierunkowany na artykulację i realizację interesów zbiorowości miejskiej. Konflikt aktywizuje mieszkańców, jest formą partycypacji obywatelskiej, narzędziem zmiany i modernizacji, instrumentem przekształceń w obrębie struktury i kultury miejskiej.
Basing on the sociological theory of conflict, the article presents the significance, roles and functions of civic movements in the process of articulating and solving social problems which emerge in the city and concern its inhabitants. The use of the conflict approach has double justification. Firstly, the city is treated (following D. Harvey) as an area of conflicts and tensions that have economic and social class roots. Secondly, civic movements are understood (following Touraine) as a manifestation of a social conflict, consisting in the division of society into two opposing groups, disunited by the subject of the fight over which they try to take control. The constitutive feature of this conflict is the fact that it refers to real (organised) social actors and is directed at the articulation and realisation of interests of the urban community. The conflict activates inhabitants as it is a form of a civic participation, a tool of change and modernisation, an instrument of transformations within the urban structure and culture.

Opis:
Purpose: to present the role and importance of the Gender Management System as a set of procedures, standards and instructions used at various stages of management (planning, implementation, motivating, steering, organizing, controlling, evaluating, improving), which are aimed at equalizing the opportunities and possibilities of both sexes and elimination of sexual differences. It is a strategic process consisting in optimizing the management of an organization by constantly striving to increase its effective functioning, multiply its resources (primarily human, but also financial, market, information, and material), and maximize the potential value for stakeholders. Design/methodology/approach: an overview of original articles, programs and strategies on the Gender Management System. Presentation of the state of the art and possible further implications. Findings: GMS is a tool for activating women in development processes, effective use of their personal resources, including by offering access to the management and life-shaping of organizations for women, recognizing the full impact of women on the content, pace and course of social change and modernization processes, creating an organizational culture by women that grows out of the values they recognize as key, and incorporating these values into the official management style. Practical implications: conducting a systematic and in-depth literature review (with conclusions) will improve research on the Gender Management System. On this basis, attempts can be made to effectively implement the main assumptions of the GMS and correct previous mistakes in the field of gender equality management. Originality/value: there are no publications dealing with this issue, especially in Polish management science. Category of the paper: review article.
