Opis:
Removal of iron from coal-series kaolinite and its kinetics by chemical leaching were investigated in this paper. The optimal removal rate of iron reaches 29.09% (the content of $Fe_2O_3$ decreased from 0.55 to 0.39%) under the conditions of 100 °C, 0.4 M $C_2H_2O_4$, and liquid-to-solid ratio of 4 cm3/g for 120 min. The leaching process was successfully described by the Avrami model and mainly controlled by internal diffusion control of shrinking core model, the apparent activation energy is 18.46 kJ/mol. The experimental results were consistent with the internal diffusion control of shrinking core model, improving acid concentration and leaching temperature could promotes the removal of iron from coal-series kaolin.

Opis:
There are difficulties to the conventional depressant for achieving separation of scheelite from calcite for the sake of their similar surface properties. The paper reported that a new depressant quinic acid (QA) was used for separating scheelite from calcite. The adsorption experiments, zeta potential experiment, contact angle, FTIR, XPS analysis and crystal chemistry analysis were utilized to known the depression mechanism of selectivity. The results showed that the recovery of calcite decreased drastically after QA added, whereas hardly influenced on scheelite. The tungsten concentrate could reach 66.24% WO3 grade and 89.46% recovery with 1.5×10-4 mol•L-1 QA at pH=9. The surface adsorption quantity of the QA on calcite was much greater than scheelite, which enhanced significantly the hydrophilicity of calcite surface. Due to its negative charge, QA could be adsorbed on the surface of calcite which had positive charge instead of that of scheelite with negative charge. Subsequently, free carboxyl groups of QA could chelated with Ca2+ species on the calcite surface to form stable chemical adsorption in order to prevent the Pb-BHA to form further adsorption on that, so there was no increase significantly on hydrophobicity. However, QA was obviously weak for adsorbing while Pb-BHA which could still be chemically adsorbed on scheelite surface of pre-treated with QA.

Opis:
Surface pretreatment using a hot alkaline solution was carried out to improve the effect of desulfurization and desilication on low-grade bauxite with high sulfur content. The results demonstrated that, after surface pretreatment, a maximum grade and recovery of 66.17% and 87.27%, respectively, were achieved, and the sulfur content and ratio of A/S were 0.19% and 7.09, respectively. The surface pretreatment mechanism was further analysed by XRD and SEM analyses. The improved results of desulfurization and desilication were attributed to the selective corrosion of aluminosilicate minerals in coarse particles, reducing the active silicon sites on the surface of coarse particles as well as enhancing the cation exchange between the collector and aluminosilicate minerals.

Opis:
An aryl-substituted aromatic acid ionic liquid (M-X) was synthesized through hexadecyl trimethyl ammonium bromide and sodium salicylate, and it was employed as a flotation collector for the separation of quartz from magnetite. Laboratory flotation studies of magnetite and quartz were conducted using the M-X and dodecylamine (DDA) as collector. The results showed that the M-X has a stronger collecting ability and selectivity for quartz without starch. The adsorption mechanism of M-X on quartz and magnetite surfaces was studied by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), zeta potential and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) analysis. Results indicated that the adsorption of M-X on the quartz surface was more efficient than that on the magnetite surface. And the salicylate anion in M-X was found to have depression effect to magnetite.

Opis:
In this study, an imidazole ionic liquid (dodecyl-tri-methylimidazolium chloride) was employed as a collector to separate quartz from phosphorite. The micro-flotation experiments of a single mineral found that it had selective collecting ability for quartz than phosphorite. Mixed mineral flotation experiments confirmed that efficient separation results could be obtained using the imidazole ionic liquid as the collector. A concentrate with a 31.44% grade of phosphorite could be obtained with a 0.285 kg/Mg collector dosage at neutral pH, which was much better than the traditional collector dodecylamine. The adsorption mechanism of the imidazole ionic liquid on the surface of phosphorite and quartz was investigated by contact angle and zeta potential measurements, Fourier transform infrared and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy analyses. These results showed that the adsorption of imidazole ionic liquid at the quartz surface was stronger than that of phosphorite, and the collector adsorbability difference between quartz and phosphorite resulted in the efficient flotation separation. Consequently, the dodecyl-tri-methylimidazolium chloride salt is an effective collector for reverse flotation of quartz from phosphorite.

Opis:
A three-dimensional finite element model of the lower cervical spine was established to evaluate the biomechanical stability and stress distribution of the new lower cervical interzygapophyseal fusion device (IZFD) developed by ourselves under different construct. The aim of this study was to provide theoretical basis for further clinical application. Methods: A normal fresh cadaveric specimen (male, 35 years old) was used to establish an intact three-dimensional finite element model of C3–C6. On this basis, the comparative finite element models of the lateral mass screw rod (LMSR) system and LMSR+IZFD were established. Only C4–C5 is fixed in the lateral mass. The range of motion (ROM) and stress distribution in the flexion, extension, lateral bending and rotation of the C4–C5 segment under the three constructs were analyzed. Results: The ROM and stress distribution of the three-dimensional finite element model under load construct were within a reasonable range, which proved the validity and reliability of the model. The ROM and stress distribution of C4–C5 segment was significantly decreased in both LMSR and LMSR+IZFD constructs than those in the intact construct. The ROM and stresss distribution were even smaller in LMSR+IZFD construct than in LMSR construct. Conclusions: The IZFD combined with LMSR system can provide satisfactory stability for the lower cervical spine, and the IZFD can further improve the fixation effect of the LMSR system.
