Opis:
The production of $\Sigma^{0}$ hyperons in proton proton collisions at a beam kinetic energy of 3.5 GeV impinging on a liquid hydrogen target was investigated using data collected with the HADES setup. The total production cross section is found to be $\sigma(pK^{+} \Sigma^{0})$ = 17.7 $\pm$ 1.7(stat) $\pm$ 1.6(syst) μb. Differential cross section distributions of the exclusive channel $pp \to pK^{+} \Sigma^{0}$ were analyzed in the center-of-mass, Gottfried–Jackson and helicity reference frames for the first time at the excess energy of 556 MeV. The data support the interplay between pion and kaon exchange mechanisms and clearly demonstrate the contribution of interfering nucleon resonances decaying to $K^{+} \Sigma^{0}$. The Bonn–Gatchina partial wave analysis was employed to analyse the data. Due to the limited statistics, it was not possible to obtain an unambiguous determination of the relative contribution of intermediate nucleon resonances to the final state. However nucleon resonances with masses around 1.710 GeV/c$^{2}$ (N* (1710)) and 1.900 GeV/c$^{2}$ N* (1900) or $\Delta$* (1900)) are preferred by the fit.

Opis:
The global polarization of Λ hyperons along the total orbital angular momentum of a relativistic heavy-ion collision is presented based on the high statistics data samples collected in Au+Au collisions at $\sqrt{^{s}NN}$ = 2.4 GeV and Ag+Ag at 2.55 GeV with the High-Acceptance Di-Electron Spectrometer (HADES) at GSI, Darmstadt. This is the first measurement below the strangeness production threshold in nucleon-nucleon collisions. Results are reported as a function of the collision centrality as well as a function of the hyperon's transverse momentum (p_{T}) and rapidity (y_{CM}) for the range of centrality 0–40%. We observe a strong centrality dependence of the polarization with an increasing signal towards peripheral collisions. For mid-central (20 – 40%) collisions the polarization magnitudes are $\left< P_{\Lambda}\right>$ (%) = 6.8 $\pm$ 1.3 (stat.) $\pm$ 2.1 (syst.) for Au+Au and $\left< P_{\Lambda}\right>$ (%) = 6.2 $\pm$ 0.4 (stat.) $\pm$ 0.6 (syst.) for Ag+Ag, which are the largest values observed so far. This observation thus provides a continuation of the increasing trend previously observed by STAR and contrasts expectations from recent theoretical calculations predicting a maximum in the region of collision energies about 3 GeV. The observed polarization is of a similar magnitude as predicted by 3D-fluid-dynamics and the UrQMD plus thermal vorticity model and significantly above results from the AMPT model.

Opis:
Hadron production ($\pi^{\pm}$, proton, $\Lambda, K^{0}_{S}, K^{\pm}$) in $\pi^{-}$ + C and $\pi^{-}$ + W collisions is investigated at an incident pion beam momentum of 1.7 GeV/c. This comprehensive set of data measured with HADES at SIS18/GSI significantly extends the existing world data on hadron production in pion induced reactions and provides a new reference for models that are commonly used for the interpretation of heavy-ion collisions. The measured inclusive differential production cross-sections are compared with state-of-the-art transport model (GiBUU, SMASH) calculations. The (semi-) exclusive channel $\pi^{-}$ + A $\to \Lambda$ + $K^{0}_{S}$ + X, in which the kinematics of the strange hadrons are correlated, is also investigated and compared to a model calculation. Agreement and remaining tensions between data and the current version of the considered transport models are discussed.

Opis:
This paper presents results on multiplicity fluctuations of positively and negatively charged hadrons as well as net-electric charge fluctuations measured in central Ar+Sc interactions at beam momenta 13A, 19A, 30A, 40A, 75A, and 150A GeV/c. The fluctuation analysis is one of the tools to search for the predicted critical point of strongly interacting matter. Results are corrected for the experimental biases and quantified using cumulant ratios. In most instances, multiplicity and net-charge distributions appear narrower than the corresponding Poisson or Skellam distributions. Cumulant ratios are compared with the Epos1.99 model predictions, which provide a qualitative description that aligns with observations for positively and negatively charged particles. The obtained results are also compared to earlier NA61/SHINE results from inelastic p+p interactions in the same analysis acceptance.

Opis:
A good knowledge of nuclear fragmentation cross sections is important to interpret the fluxes of secondary cosmic rays from the Galaxy. Here we report new measurements of nuclear fragmentation with the NA61/SHINE experiment at the CERN SPS. The specific focus is on cross sections important for the production of boron in the Galaxy from the interactions of $^{12}$C nuclei with hydrogen in the interstellar medium, including the contribution from the decay of the short-lived $^{11}$C fragments. The data were taken with the secondary $^{12}$C beam at beam momentum of 13.5 GeV/c per nucleon and two fixed targets, polyethylene (CH$_{2}$) and graphite (C), from which we derive the cross sections of carbon on hydrogen. We present the measurement of the fragmentation cross sections of $^{12}$C, $^{11}$B, and $^{10}$B as well as the mass- and charge-changing cross sections.

Opis:
This paper presents the multiplicity of neutral and charged hadrons produced in 90 GeV/c proton-carbon interactions from a dataset taken by the NA61/SHINE experiment in 2017. Particle identification via dE/dx was performed for the charged hadrons $\pi^{\pm}, K^{\pm}$ and $p/\bar{p}$; the neutral hadrons $K^{0}_{S}, \Lambda$, and $\bar{\Lambda}$ were identified via an invariant mass analysis of their decays to charged hadrons. Double-differential multiplicity results as a function of laboratory momentum and polar angle are presented for each particle species; these results provide vital constraints on the predicted neutrino beam flux for current and future long-baseline neutrino oscillation experiments.

Opis:
This paper presents the energy dependence of multiplicity and net-electric charge fluctuations in p+p interactions at beam momenta 20, 31, 40, 80, and 158 GeV/c. Results are corrected for the experimental biases and quantified with the use of cumulants and factorial cumulants. Cumulant ratios are an essential tool in the search for the critical point of strongly interacting matter in heavy ion collisions. Measurements performed in p+p interactions provide a vital baseline estimation in these studies. The measured signals are compared with the string hadronic models Epos1.99 and FTFP-BERT.
