Katarzyna Waligóra writes on two plays by the Brazilian artist Christiane Jatahy, presented during the 4th International Festival of World Classics: The New Classics of Europe in Łódź (15.10. - 9.11.2016). In Miss Julia based on Strindberg’s drama, and What if they went to Moscow? based on Chekhov, Jatahy explores the relationships between theater and film. The review stresses the technical precision of both productions. She chiefly appreciates Miss Julia as a metatheatrical game, problematizing the presence of the camera on stage. In the adaptation of Three Sisters, Jatahy divides the play into two parts, one of which is seen by the viewers as a live performance, and the other is a film of the play seen in a cinema. Waligóra writes that the director’s "double vision" method brings no earth-shattering conclusions in terms of how we perceive film or a theater production.

Artykuł przedstawia wyniki badań, których celem była identyfikacja miejsc, wykorzystywanych jako plenery filmowe oraz rozpoznanie cech i elementów krajobrazu wpływających na jego atrakcyjność dla produkcji filmowych i turystyki filmowej. W pierwszej części artykułu zarysowano rozwój tury-styki filmowej na świecie i w Polsce, a następnie scharakteryzowano rolę krajobrazu w filmach. Po zaprezentowaniu kontekstu podjętej problematyki, w drugiej części artykułu omówiono atrakcyjność krajobrazową województwa lubelskiego dla realizacji filmowych i turystyki filmowej, a następ-nie przedstawiono wyniki badań sondażowych przeprowadzonych wśród studentów UMCS w Lublinie. Badania wykazały, że województwo lubelskie posiada ukryty potencjał związany z inspiracjami krajobrazowymi w sztuce filmowej. Choć najczęściej wykorzystywanymi przez „filmowców” plenerami filmowymi są krajobrazy kulturowe małomiasteczkowe i wielkomiejskie o zachowanej zabudowie historycznej (m.in. Lublin, Kazimierz Dolny, Zamość), to atrakcyjność pozostałych typów krajobrazów jest równie duża.
In the paper are presented results of the research which the basic objective was to identify spots that are used as open-air locations in films. The next aim is to recognize those features and components of landscape which determine its attraction for film productions and film tourism. In the first part of the paper, an outline of development of film tourism in Poland and in the world is presented as well as significance of landscape for film scenes. After a short introduction on the issues examined, in the second part of the article, landscape appeal for film productions and film tourism in the Lublin region is described. Then, results of the survey, conducted among the students of MCSU in Lublin, are presented. As the researches reveal, the Lublin region can be characterized by hidden potential connected with landscape inspirations for the film art. Cultural landscapes of small towns as well as those of big cities, which possess well-preserved historical buildings (among others: Lublin, Kazimierz Dolny, Zamość), belong to the most popular and the most frequently used by filmmaker open-air locations in different film productions. But, it should be stressed that other types of landscapes are also of great attraction and arouse interest among films producers.

The article aims to indicate different perspectives of film education. According to the author, three possible strategies can be identified: education to film (“film studies” strategy), education in film (“anthropological” strategy) and education through film (“hermeneutic” strategy). In traditional conceptions of cultural education, film education was treated as part of aesthetic education which highlighted the aspect of preparing the viewer as an “expert” with knowledge of the art discipline, corresponding to the “film studies’ strategy”. In the “anthropological strategy”, film is treated as a reflection of society, its fears, and dominant narratives. The viewer’s expectations are different and moreover the competence of the art theorist is replaced by knowledge of culture and society and the changes taking place within it. From an educational point of view, however, the most interesting perspective is the “hermeneutic” one that treats film as a partner in dialogue, when the educational potential of a film text is determined not by its “content” but by the “biographical capital” of the viewer.
