Opis:
The proposed particle factory detector for Turkish Accelerator Center (TAC-PF) being a regional facility in Turkey will operate at the center of mass energy about 3.77 GeV with designed luminosity of the order of 10³⁴ cm¯² s¯¹. The electromagnetic calorimeter part of the detector is considered to have PbWO₄ and CsI(Tl) crystals coupled with photodiodes. In this study, the exposed dose rate to electromagnetic calorimeter during PF detector operation was estimated by FLUKA Monte Carlo tool. The irradiation effects such as the change of light yield and light transmission of these crystals were investigated to evaluate TAC-PF electromagnetic calorimeter energy resolution.

Opis:
In this work, sol-gel method was used in order to synthesize ZnO nanoparticles. $Zn(CH_3COO)_2$·$2H_2O$ was used to obtain ZnO precursor solution. To investigate the effect of organic gelating agents on grain size, various organic gelating agents such as triethanolamine (TEA), glycerin (GLY), ethylene glycol (EG), citric acid (CA) and tartaric acid (TA) were used. X-ray diffraction analysis was used for phase identification and grain size calculation. ZnO powders were characterized by using Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy and atomic force microscopy.

In this paper the influence of the heating processes on modal attenuation distribution in planar gradient waveguides produced by ion exchange method in soda-lime glass-$Ag^{+}$ admixture arrangement is presented. The influence of heating processes on modal attenuation distribution in dependence on preliminary refractive profile shape was analysed. Numerical simulations were based on experimentally gained thermal diffusion coefficients of the exchanged ions.

Opis:
Rib waveguides were fabricated with the use of selective, wet chemical etching of two-component waveguide films $SiO_2:TiO_2$ which were obtained using sol-gel method. Photoresist was applied as a mask in the process. The etching of the films $SiO_2:TiO_2$ was carried out in water solution of ammonia fluoride. The paper presents the results of theoretical analysis as well as the power distributions in the fabricated strip waveguides.

The sol-gel technology allows the preparation of silica thin films ranging in porosity from dense to highly porous films (50%). Porous silica films can function as a matrix that is able to bind the molecules of pH-sensitive indicators and therefore can be utilized as a sensitive film in construction of intensity based fibre or planar optical sensors for ammonia detection. We report the fabrication and characterization of ammonia sensitive, highly porous silica films deposited on soda-lime glass plates and doped with the bromocresole purple, and bromothymol blue molecules. In this paper we present the influence of the substrate withdrawal speed from sol on a thickness and a refractive index of the undoped silica films, as well as spectral absorbance characteristics of the doped films. An influence of ammonia concentration in air and relative humidity on a transmission of produced sensitive films is also presented.

The sol-gel technology allows preparation of the thin silica films ranging in porosity from dense to highly porous. These films can function as matrix binding molecules of pH-sensitive indicators and can be utilized as sensitive coatings for intensity based planar evanescent wave chemical sensors. This paper is devoted to manufacturing technology and characterization of highly porous silica films deposited on soda-lime glass substrates, impregnated with bromocresole purple and cresole red. Two different methods of impregnation were used: dip coating, which entails sensitization of both silica films deposited on each side of a substrate and selective deposition of a dye solution on single side of the substrate. Manufactured sensitive films were tested toward influence of gaseous ammonia and nitrogen dioxide on their spectral characteristics of the absorption coefficient and the imaginary part of the refractive index. It was shown that bromocresole purple allows detection of both gases: $NH_3$ and $NO_2$.

Opis:
The paper presents the results of the investigations involving the influence of the change of launching conditions on the characteristics of the planar amplitude evanescent wave ammonia sensors. Investigated sensors are based on the channel gradient waveguides, which are produced with the application of the ion exchange in glasses. In our investigations we have tested two sensor structures of different refractive index profiles. The absorption sensitive films were produced using sol-gel technology.

Tin dioxide nanoparticles were synthesized by sol-gel method and calcined at different temperatures in the range 350-750°C. The $SnO_2$ precursor solution was prepared from $SnCl_2$·$2H_2O$ (tin (II) chloride dihydrate), and chloride ions were removed from the solution before the sol-gel synthesis was applied. $SnO_2$ powders were characterized by thermal analyses, X-ray diffraction, field emission gun-scanning electron microscopy, and energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, and grain size of nanoparticles were determined by using the Debye-Scherrer formula.

In this study, nanostructured ZnO thin film coatings produced by sol-gel method have been examined and characterized. ZnO thin film coatings synthesized by the preparation of ZnO sols in the liquid phase from homogeneous solutions with precursor of zinc acetate dihydrate (Zn(CH₃COO)₂·2H₂O). Ethanol (C₂H₅OH) has been used as a solvent material and monoethanolamine (MEA) has been used as a complexing agent. The final solutions have 0.1, 0.3, 0.5, 0.7 and 1 molar concentrations. General morphologies and detailed structural characterizations have been obtained by using scanning electron microscope (SEM). Qualitative analyses of the synthesized coatings were performed using X-ray diffraction (XRD) and Raman spectroscopy. The Raman spectroscopy studies of precursor, solution and final products were carried out to investigate transformation of the chemical compounds from the initial material to the final coating.

Opis:
The work presents the optical properties of porous silica thin films prepared by TEOS sol-gel method. The films were deposited onto glass substrate using dip-coating technique. The spectroscopic ellipsometry measurements have been performed to determine the optical constants of the films. This technique also enabled evaluation of the depolarization for the investigated layers. Additionally, the spectrophotometric measurements of transmittance and reflectance by the use of integrating sphere and reflectance probe have been made with the aim of possible application of the films as antireflective coatings.
