Opis:: Księgi Machabejskie, chociaż przynależą do ksiąg historycznych ST, zawierają wiele wątków teologicznych, a także antropologicznych. Pośród nich pojawia się zagadnienie gniewu Bożego i gniewu ludzkiego. Autorzy Ksiąg Machabejskich gniew opisują za pomocą dwóch terminów: orgḗ i thymós. Jak wynika ze statystyki omawianych terminów oraz ich odniesień, z osobą Boga zasadniczo został powiązany termin orgḗ, natomiast z człowiekiem zarówno orgḗ, jak i thymós. Analiza poszczególnych terminów w konkretnych kontekstach pozwala zauważyć specyfikę użycia obu terminów. Na kanwie tych analiz można określić natomiast, czy autorzy Ksiąg Machabejskich stosowali je z konkretną konsekwencją.
The Maccabees, although they belong to the historical books of the OT (in some traditions), contain many theological and anthropological threads. Among them there are questions of both Godʼs and human anger. The authors of the Book of the Maccabees describe anger using two terms: orgḗ and thymós. It is clear from the statistics and references of the discussed terms that the word orgḗ was essentially associated with the person of God, whereas both orgḗ and thymós were used for humans. The analysis of particular terms in specific contexts allows us to note the nuances of how the two terms were employed and to determine to what degree the authors of the Books of the Maccabees used them consistently.

Opis:: Der Text 2 Makk 7 zeigt, dass im hellenistischen Diasporajudentum Antiochias konzipierte Hoffnung auf die himmlische Auferstehung der Märtyrer, wie sie Dn 12 nahe legte, auch im Palästinajudentum ihren Eingang fand oder parallel entwickelt wurde. Die Übernahme von Dn 12 in der hellenistischen Diaspora Antiochias wie die Aufnahme von 2Makk 7 als Quelle des Jasons im Jerusalemer Umkreis zeigen, wie eng die geistigen Verbindungen jüdischer und antiochenischer Märtyrertheologie gewesen sein müssen. Wir dürfen deshalb die Hoffnung auf eine himmlische Erhöhung oder Auferstehung der getöteten Glaubenszeugen einer neuen Märtyrertheologie zu sprechen, die ihren Aufbruch in der seleukidischen Verfolgung erlebte und nach der politischen Wende die leidvolle Vergangenheit zu bewältigen suchte.

Opis:: The story of Heliodorus' defeat in 2 Macc depicts God's extraordinary victory over His enemies. The defeat of Heliodorus and his troops described as a personal work of God is an event which happened without any direct human intervention. The present article analyzes this issue in light of ancient heroes' fights with a deity. These heroes paid the penalty not so much as a consequence of their fight, but because of their revelation of a supernatural power. The juxtaposition of many ancient sources, in which we find both the fights of heroes against gods and 'crime and punishment' themes, reveals the conventionality of literary forms used by hagiographers. Pseudo-Philo's LAB is one of the works in which this tradition is present. The story about Mica's idolatrous sanctuary contains some threads which are analogous to 2 Macc, and can be examined from two perspectives. The fi rst one concerns a detailed description of punishment, whereas the second one focuses on an ironic dimension of the story. The analysis proposed in this research presents the composition of 2 Macc 3 as a certain literary convention. At the same time, it connects the rules of interpretation of this text with those relating to historical legends about theomachoi.

Umierają oni w sposób, który uwydatnia związek ich zgonu z popełnianymi wcześniej grzechami. Osobnym tematem jest historia Antiocha IV Epifanesa. Król ten skonał jako buntownik przeciw Bogu. Autor połączył tu analizowany motyw z legendami o theomachoi. Antioch nie będzie miał udziału w zmartwychwstaniu do życia, gdy ciała świętych zostaną odrodzone, a utracone części ciała przywrócone. Taki sposób interpretacji historii jest wynikiem katechetycznych tendencji księgi.
This work presents a characteristic way of composition of episodes about deaths of sinners present in Second Book of Maccabees. They die in a way that emphasizes the relationship between the type of their death and previous sins. A separate topic is the story of Antiochus IV Epiphanes. This king died as a rebel against God. The author combined here the motif of concern with legends about theomachy. Antiochus will not have a part in the resurrection of life when the bodies of the saints are reborn and the lost parts of the body are restored. This way of interpreting history is the result of the catechetical tendencies of the book.
