Opis:: These days, an increase is being observed in the number of 4PL operators on the market of logistics service providers. The purpose of the article is to present the role of the logistics operator in the management of the supply chain of companies on the territory of Poland as well as the kinds of services provided by these companies. The methods used herein include an analysis of literature, a method of selected case studies and indirect measurements. The analysis was based on four logistics operators with the largest incomes on the Polish market: Raben Group, Schenker Sp. z o.o., FM logistics and DPD Polska Sp. z o.o.

Opis:: The globalisation of the trade and services market has made it necessary to focus on the key processes performed by individual enterprises in the supply chain. For this reason, logistics operators have started to play an important role in the service market. Operators, using their resources, experience and skills, guarantee to their business partners the highest level of realization of logistic processes. One of the key elements for improving logistics processes efficiency through the use of Fourth Party Logistics is the information flow integration. In this article, the authors focused on presenting an analysis of the integration needs identification of business partners with the 4PL operator. The presented methodology includes both literature analysis, case studies and business practice research, based on research projects carried out in GS1 Poland, Institute of Logistics and Warehousing and the Poznań School of Logistics. The conducted research concerns the specific information flow in fourth party logistics (4PL), which requires information integration of the entire supply chain. The choice on this issue is related to the topicality of the problem, both in terms of literature research and business practice. Taking into account the specificity of fourth party logistics, the study included not only operators, but also their business partners in the supply chain.

Opis:: Operator logistyczny 4PL (Fourth Party Logistics Provider) oferuje nowe i innowacyjne rozwiązania, mające na celu obniżenie kosztów, udostępnienie usług i usprawnienia w zarządzaniu złożonymi łańcuchami dostaw. Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie najlepszych warunków do współpracy między wyspecjalizowanymi podmiotami zajmującymi się zarządzaniem łańcuchem dostaw – operatorami 4PL. Rozważania dotyczące czynników wpływających na tworzenie koalicji przez operatorów 4PL, a także konkluzje z zakresu trwałości współpracy stały się podstawą do zaprojektowania dwustopniowej procedury, zbudowanej w oparciu o pojęcia z teorii gier. Celem przedstawionej procedury jest wybór metody alokacji kosztów/zysków przez koalicjantów. Analizy przeprowadzono na podstawie danych pochodzących z literatury.
The growing diversity of programmes concerning the solutions associated with the fourth party supply chain operations, the increasing pressure to optimise all resources and capabilities, as well as the continually increasing integration of different types of technologies are the driving force in the establishment of fourth party logistics supply chain coalition. Choosing the most rational and practical cost allocation mechanism in the fourth party logistics supply chain coalition, with the aim of reducing the overall operating costs, is the main condition ensuring companies’ motivation to participate in collaboration. This paper addresses the concepts from the game theory combined with multi‑criteria problems in order to introduce a realisable profit distribution mechanism, with the potential to establish practical collaborations among companies. The aim is to achieve the best conditions for collaboration. Case studies are used to demonstrate the utility of the framework.

Opis:: Dual target ligands are a promising concept for the treatment of Parkinson’s disease (PD). A combination of monoamine oxidase B (MAO B) inhibition with histamine H3 receptor (H3R) antagonism could have positive effects on dopamine regulation. Thus, a series of twenty-seven 4-tert-butylphenoxyalkoxyamines were designed as potential dual-target ligands for PD based on the structure of 1-(3-(4-tert-butylphenoxy)propyl)piperidine (DL76). Probed modifications included the introduction of different cyclic amines and elongation of the alkyl chain. Synthesized compounds were investigated for human H3R (hH3R) affinity and human MAO B (hMAO B) inhibitory activity. Most compounds showed good hH3R affinities with Ki values below 400 nM, and some of them showed potent inhibitory activity for hMAO B with IC50 values below 50 nM. However, the most balanced activity against both biological targets showed DL76 (hH3R: Ki = 38 nM and hMAO B: IC50 = 48 nM). Thus, DL76 was chosen for further studies, revealing the nontoxic nature of DL76 in HEK293 and neuroblastoma SH-SY5Ycells. However, no neuroprotective effect was observed for DL76 in hydrogen peroxide-treated neuroblastoma SH-SY5Y cells. Furthermore, in vivo studies showed antiparkinsonian activity of DL76 in haloperidol-induced catalepsy (Cross Leg Position Test) at a dose of 50 mg/kg body weight.

Opis:: The aim of the research is to determine the impact of innovations and Industry 4.0 solutions on the international competitiveness from the perspectives of representatives of food industry enterprises. The empirical layer used information collected on the basis of a survey using the CATI method conducted on a representative sample of representatives of food industry enterprises. Descriptive statistics, the Kruskal-Wallis test, Mann-Whitney test, multiple comparison test and box-plot plots were used to analyse the data. The study confirmed that implementing certain innovations and solutions, both intangible and tangible, is important for maintaining and improving competitiveness on the international market. This applies particularly innovative, modern ways of reaching the customer, developing innovative products, the use of IT systems and the use of innovative methods in advertising and promotion. The conclusions present direct implications for managers of food enterprises who formulate competitive strategies.

Opis:: Let $G$ be a planar graph of $n$ vertices. The paper shows that the decycling number of $G$ is at most $ \tfrac{n-1}{2} $ if $G$ has not any $K_4$-minor. If the maximum degree of $G$ is at most four and $G$ is not $4$-regular, the paper proves that the decycling number of $G$ is $ \tfrac{n}{2} $ if and only if $G$ is covered by $K_4$-subgraphs. In addition, the decycling number of $G$ covered by octahedron-subgraphs or icosahedron-subgraphs is studied.

Opis:: To stay profitable in a competitive market, a company increasingly needs to utilize digitalization tools to optimize its operations. One of the key tools is the recently popularized AI, which, if applied effectively, can enhance, digitally manage, and improve our existing systems, aligning with the principles of Industry 4.0. The shown case study examines the impact of Artificial Neural Networks (ANN) and Machine Learning (ML) on inventory management, emphasizing AI's role in enhancing efficiency and adaptability. This study is a continuation of a previous work with an additional study addresses the human factor, exploring the balance between technology and workforce skills to ensure that AI supports rather than replaces human decision-making. In the era of Industry 4.0, cloud services have become commonly used, offering integration of various IT systems. Artificial Intelligence (AI) systems support process flexibility and modularization. Platforms enabling the synchronisation of the operation of various AI agents are created and industrial components based on AI integrated in multi-agent systems are developed. One of the important aspects of intelligent production is the safe and effective cooperation of humans with industrial robots and AI systems. In this context, the authors of this article consider issues related to the type and scope of processed data, processing of mixed data sets and the phenomenon of data re-personalization, the scope of the right to privacy and issues related to automated decision making. They also indicate new or planned legal regulations that may affect intelligent production.
