Opis:
The evolution of the dislocation structure in randomly textured cast magnesium as a function of loading mode is studied using whole neutron diffraction pattern line profile analysis and elasto-plastic self-consistent modeling. Both the experimental results and the theoretical data indicate the onset of basal slip at low stresses and the key role of prismatic slip in the macroscopic yield. Dependence of the second-order pyramidal slip on the loading mode is revealed.

Opis:
The paper presents the structure studies on composites of aluminum alloy matrix with addition of silicon carbide phase (from 5 to 15 vol.% SiC and 10 vol.% SiC + 10 vol.% graphite) obtained by the stir casting method. The aim of this work is to determine the influence of the SiC content and electrical discharge machining processes on the phase composition, microstructure, and values of residual stresses. In order to determine the heterogeneity of the obtained materials, the X-ray diffraction analysis was performed in different sample orientations to the direction of the X-ray beam (perpendicular and parallel), using different geometries (the Bragg-Brentano and grazing incident X-ray diffraction). This work presents the results of the residual stress analysis in the tested composites generated by various content of SiC additives. Residual stresses were determined by both of the ın²ψ and g-ın²ψ X-ray methods. Obtained results shown the significant gradient of residual stress in all cases.

Opis:
Barium titanate, $BaTiO_3$ ceramic powders were prepared by mechanochemical synthesis and by the Pechini method. A powder mixture of BaO and $TiO_2$ was treated in a planetary ball mill in an air atmosphere for up to 1 h, using zirconium oxide vial and zirconium oxide balls as the milling medium. After 60 min $BaTiO_3$ phase was formed. In both ways $BaTiO_3$ ceramics were sintered after 2 h on 1300°C without pre-calcinations step. The heating rate was 10°C $\text{min}^{-1}$. The formation of phase and crystal structure of $BaTiO_3$ was approved by X-ray diffraction analysis and the Raman spectroscopy. The morphology and microstructure of obtained powders were examined by scanning electron microscopy method. Sharp phase transition from ferroelectric to paraelectric state was observed. The hysteresis loop is very well performed with regular sharp characteristic of ferroelectric materials.

Opis:
Hot extrusion process was applied to $Ni_{54.3}Fe_{16.2}Ga_{29.5}$ polycrystalline alloy. Then the rod was annealed subsequently for 1 h at 700, 800, 900, and 1100°C. In this paper the effect of annealing on the microstructure of the polycrystalline extruded Ni-Fe-Ga alloy were analyzed. The structure of the alloys was determined by the X-ray and transmission electron microscopy. The electron backscattering diffraction technique was applied to obtain the texture of the extruded rods after heat treatment.
