Opis:: Today, knowledge and information are considered as determining factors in the success and competitiveness of organizations. Products and services of those businesses that can efficiently obtain knowledge in organization and use it in business processes will have a competitive advantage on the market. In this study, the fuzzy DEMATEL technique was used to examine the causal relationships between factors affecting the implementation of knowledge management, and the fuzzy ANP technique was used to determine the priority of factors. The case study in this research is of the Tehran Fire Department (TFD). The results showed that during the implementation of the fuzzy DEMATEL method, "specified strategies and objectives in the use of knowledge management" was the most influential factor and the factor of "designing effective processes to apply KM" was the most impressible one. Finally, using fuzzy ANP, “strategies and specific objectives in the use of knowledge management” was determined as the most important factor.
Dziś wiedza i informacja są uważane za czynniki decydujące o sukcesie i konkurencyjności organizacji. Produkty i usługi firm, które mogą skutecznie zdobywać wiedzę w organizacji i wykorzystywać je w procesach biznesowych, będą miały przewagę konkurencyjną na rynku. W badaniu zastosowano techniki rozmyte DEMATEL w celu zbadania zależności przyczynowych między czynnikami wpływającymi na wdrożenie zarządzania wiedzą i techniki rozmytej ANP w celu określenia priorytetu czynników. Studium przypadku w tym badaniu jest Straż Pożarna w Teheranie. Wyniki wykazały, że w trakcie wdrażania metody rozmytej DEMATEL za najistotniejszy czynnik uznano "strategie i cele w zarządzaniu wiedzą", a czynnik "projektowanie skutecznych procesów stosujących KM" był najbardziej wrażliwy. Ostatecznie, przy użyciu metody rozmytej ANP, za najważniejszy uznano czynnik strategii i celów w zakresie zarządzania wiedzą.

Opis:: W procesie wybierania strategii lub kierunku działalności inwestycyjnej przedsiębiorstwo powinno wziąć pod uwagę nie tylko dane jakościowe, lecz także ilościowe. Metoda AHP ułatwia proces podejmowania decyzji w organizacji i pomaga w ocenie ważności wszystkich kryteriów. Jest ona wykorzystywana w procesie wspomagania decyzji, w przypadku gdy nie można ocenić wszystkich danych ilościowo. Za pomocą metody AHP w rezultacie wybrano najlepszą alternatywę.
When company makes decision about different strategies or investments and want to take into account not only quantitative but also qualitative data, AHP methodology can help and make evaluations of all important criteria easier. In conclusions of this paper AHP methodology is defined as the tool of decision making in situation when it is difficult to evaluate and compare all data. As the result of calculations the best alternative was chosen.

Tytuł:: When should Poland enter the euro-zone? : decision making with the ANP

Opis:: The aticle presents a solution to a real, current and significant problem for Poland. Poland, as a new EU country should join the Economic and Monetary Union - the euro-zone after fulfilling the convergence criteria set by the Maastricht Treaty, as soon as possible. Entering the zone it should gain in many economic, social and political fields. We can therefore look for new opportunities. However, entering the euro-zone is results also in costs and risks. The paper aims to find an alternative which would maximize benefits and opportunities and minimalize costs and risks. The alternatives were developed - early, medium-term and late entry of Poland’s into the euro-zone. The problem was solved by use of Analytical Network Process. Using multiplicative and additive/negative mathematical formulae the conclusions show, without any doubt, that Poland should enter the euro-zone late, that is after 2011.

Tytuł:: Application of the AHP/ANP to identify the most sustainable direction of crop production in Poland

Opis:: The present study aims at determining the most sustainable plant production in Poland, by obtaining priorities for selected alternatives of food crops in Poland (“conventional”, “organic” and “transgenic”) using the AHP/ANP technique as the multicriteria decision making aid. The study addresses three aspects of sustainability: food health quality, environment and socio-economic issues. The research consisted of three stages: first, review of the existing literature to produce a set of criteria/subcriteria pertinent to sustainable agricultural plant production; second, deriving priorities for the criteria/subcriteria using the AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process), and third, determining and rank priorities for conventional vs. organic vs. transgenic farming in Poland using the Analytic Network Process (ANP). The ANP were based on four separate models (subnets): Benefits (B), Costs (C), Opportunities (O) and Risks (R). The criteria and subcriteria under these subnets were in line with the main and specific objectives of the AHP model, and followed the same main goal: “Sustainable agricultural development in Poland”. The results indicated that “organic crops” are the most preferred option of the Polish agriculture, while “transgenic” and “conventional” agricultural systems are less preferred, but at virtually the same level. The overall preference towards organic farming owes mainly to the high weights assigned for the objectives commonly associated with organic production, such as i.e. “reduced exposure to pesticide residues in food” and “protection of pollinators”.

Opis:: This academic paper presents results of research conducted in 2012 in a production business in south Poland where the Analytic Network Process (ANP) method was applied. The objective of the research was to establish the level of risk for selected factors resulting from higher production output of the business in focus. Moreover, selection of the decision-making variant burdened by the lowest risk priority for the achievement of goals set comprised an important research criterion. The application of ANP facilitated a comprehensive approach to the issue in focus. The overriding goal was to demonstrate the efficacy of the method in solving multi-criteria decision problems, especially those which require risk analysis.

Opis:: In this article, we describe and assess the implementation of several methods of multi-criteria decision-making using a web-based computer application. Such an application makes it easier to determine the effectiveness of decisions. The methods adopted in this application are SMART (Simple Multi-Attribute Rating Technique), AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process), and ANP (Analytic Network Process). Each of these methods has distinctive characteristics in determining the best alternative for the user. This study assesses the feasibility of each method in the application. The application is assessed based on functionality, reliability, efficiency, and usability. (1) Functionality is tested according to the appropriateness of the decisions made, (2) Reliability is assessed using stress testing, (3) Efficiency is assessed according to the computational effort, and (4) System usability is tested according to the user's answers to the Computer System Usability Questionnaire authored by J.R. Lewis. This research results in a decision support system based on SMART that has been appropriately tested and is ready for use.

Opis:: The objective of this paper is to examine application possibilities of a T.L. Saaty’s AHP/ANP method in a new confrontational pattern-based design method used for IT systems evaluation. Comparison engine was used in the paper as an example. First, the authors presented characteristic and specific features and assumptions of the new methodology, in context of its belonging to the group of agile methods. Next, they conducted assumptions and a study verifying the application of this methodology in the analyses preceding the execution of the project aiming at creating a new comparison engine, based on the model which received the highest scores in the evaluation. The results of the study were analysed in two cases: scoring method and AHP/ANP method. Next the authors examined their usefulness with regard to the application of the presented method. In the end the conclusions were drawn for the definition of directions for further research.

Opis:: Współczesne poglądy na ocenę sukcesu projektu to nie tylko trójkąt zarządzania projektami, w którym równowaga pomiędzy kosztami, harmonogramem oraz zakresem pozwala na pozytywną ocenę projektu. W XX wieku zaproponowano pojęcie krytycznych czynników sukcesu (CSF). Podejście to zastosowano także w zarządzaniu projektami. Następnie rozwinięto koncepcję CSF, proponując Ramy Czynników Sukcesu. W tym podejściu CSF tworzą strukturę. W artykule przedstawiono możliwości opisu tej struktury. Jako narzędzie wykorzystano metodę ANP. Preferencje zostaną uzyskane przez porównanie parami kluczowych czynników sukcesu.
Modern views on the evaluation of the project's success is not limited to project management triangle in which a balance between cost, schedule and scope, allows for positive appraisal of the project. In the XX century, were proposed the concept of Critical Success Factors (CSF). This approach has also been applied in project management. Later were developed the concept of CSF Frameworks. In this approach CSF form a structure. In this paper we present possibilities of description of this structure. As the tool we use ANP method. Preference will be obtained by comparing pairs of critical success factors.

Tytuł:: Multi-criteria assessment of risk in the management of a food industry enterprise with the application of the analytic network process

Opis:: This paper presents the possibility of applying a multicriteria method - Analytic Network Process (ANP) in taking decisions pertaining to strategic management in the food industry. Important advantages of the ANP method have been described with reference to the related Analytic Hierarchy Process in dicating the possibility of creating models reflecting issues such as benefits, costs, opportunities, and risks, which are key in decision making processes. The paper includes a risk management model for implementing an innovative quality management tool - the ISO 22000 norm. The impact of the main criteria - economic, organizational, manufacturing, technological areas together with their respective subcriteria, which influence the final decision - within the constructed subnets with respect to risk - have been presented in a comprehensive way. In the course of analysis it has been indicated that there are more arguments in favour of implementing the described solution in business practice.
