The work is at the syntactic and discursive level: the active form of the verbs affects in French and Arabic: two verbs of emotion (to rage and its equivalent [ʕaɣḍaba] and two verbs of feeling (to admire and its equivalent [ʔaʕʒaba]). These are studied from the perspective of information dynamics within the sentence (Van Valin & LaPolla, 1997). The study is based on the French journalistic corpus EmoBase (Emolex 120M word project) and on the journalistic corpus ArabiCorpus (130M words).
Le travail se situe au niveau syntaxique et discursif : les emplois actifs des V_affect en français et en arabe : deux verbes d’émotion (énerver et son équivalent [ʕaɣḍaba] et deux verbes de sentiment (admirer et son équivalent [ʔaʕʒaba]). Ces verbes sont étudiés dans la perspective des dynamiques informationnelles au sein de la phrase (Van Valin et LaPolla, 1997). L’étude est fondée sur le corpus journalistique français EmoBase (projet Emolex 120 M de mots) et sur le corpus journalistique ArabiCorpus (130 M de mots).

Some remarks on derivatives of the toponyms Rosja and la Russie The purpose of this article is to present our method of analyzing the discursive meaning of the proper names Rosja and Russie, being constructed in the media discourse. The paper also focuses on the lexical meaning of derivatives of proper names, which can hypothetically appear in the paradigms of designation of the proper names. The confrontation of their lexical and discursive meaning could make it possible to formulate hypotheses concerning the relationship between language and discourse.

The Polish-German translation of subtitles with own comments on the example of the Polish film "Wszystko co kocham" and its German translation ("All that I love")

Opis:: Da sich in der heutigen Zeit die Filmindustrie sehr dynamisch entwickelt und immer mehr Filme übersetzt werden müssen, habe ich das Thema Filmübersetzung für meine Magisterarbeit gewählt. Ich habe den polnischen Film „Wszystko co kocham“ von Jacek Borcuch gewählt, weil die Thematik des Filmes nicht nur für polnische, sondern auch für ausländische Zuschauer interessant ist. Dieser Film präsentiert die in dem damaligen Polen wichtigen historischen Ereignisse, die einen sehr großen Einfluss auf die Stabilität und den Frieden in ganz Europa haben. Ich habe eben einen polnischen Film gewählt, da ich die polnische Geschichte und Kultur dem deutschen Publikum näher bringen möchte. Meine Magisterarbeit ist in 10 Kapiteln aufgeteilt. Im ersten Kapitel beschäftige ich mich mit der Problematik der Übersetzung, im zweiten Abschnitt unterscheide ich zwischen der polnischen und deutschen Filmindustrie. Hier behandle ich die Synchronisation (Dubbing) und Voice-over. Im nächsten Kapitel beschreibe ich die Untertitelung und alle mit ihr verbundenen Aspekte, nämlich Arten der Untertitelung wegen der linguistischen Komponente, Merkmale gut bearbeiteter Untertitelung, Gliederungskriterien aus der technischen Sicht, Zuschauerpreferencen und Vor- und Nachteile der Untertitelung. Im vierten Kapital ist die Rede von der Bearbeitung der Untertitelung. Im fünften Abschnitt gehe ich auf die kulturbezogenen Hintergründe ein. Ich vertiefe wie die Eigennamen, Abkürzungen, Vulgarismen und Wortspiele übersetzt werden sollten. Im vorletzten Teil präsentiere ich die Informationen zum Film „Wszystko co kocham“ inklusive der Beschreibung. Im letzten Abschnitt werden die durch mich gewählten Szenen analysiert, die jeweils in drei Aspekte geteilt sind, das sind Realien (historischer Aspekt), Vulgarismen (Jargon) und Komik (Wortspiele).In der vorliegenden Magisterarbeit basiere ich auf die faktographischen Materialien, die von dem Film „Wszystko co kocham“ stammen. Diese verwende ich nicht zum kommerziellen Zweck, sondern nur für meine Diplomarbeit. Desgleichen vervielfältige ich keine rechtlich geschützten Materialien.
W dzisiejszych czasach przemysł filmowy rozwija się bardzo dynamicznie i powstaje coraz więcej filmów, które muszą zostać przetłumaczone, dlatego tematem mojej pracy magisterskiej jest tłumaczenie filmowe. Wybrałam polski film Jacka Borcucha pt. „Wszystko co kocham, ponieważ tematyka tego filmu jest interesująca zarówno dla polskiego, jak i zagranicznego widza. Akcja filmu rozgrywa się w Polsce, w latach osiemdziesiątych i przedstawia ówczesne wydarzenia historyczne, które miały ogromny wpływ na stabilność i pokój w Europie. Wybrałam właśnie ten polski film, ponieważ chciałam przybliżyć niemieckiemu widzowi polską historię i kulturę.Praca magisterska podzielona jest na 10 rozdziałów. W pierwszym rozdziale opisane jest zjawisko tłumaczenia, w drugim przedstawione są różnice w polskim i niemieckim przemyśle filmowym oraz preferencje widzów z obu krajów. W następnym rozdziale opisywane jest zjawisko napisów i wszystkie z tym związane aspekty, m.in. podział napisów ze względu na komponenty językowe, podział z technicznego punktu widzenia. W czwartym rozdziale jest mowa o metodach tworzenia napisów. W piątym rozdziale przedstawiono, jak należy tłumaczyć tzw. tło kulturowe, czyli nazwy własne, wulgaryzmy, gry słowne. W kolejnym rozdziale są informacje dotyczące filmu „Wszystko co kocham”. W ostatniej części pracy zanalizowane zostały wybrane przez mnie sceny, które dzielą się na trzy aspekty, tzn. realia (aspekt historyczny), wulgaryzmy (żargon) i humor (gra słów).Niniejsza praca magisterska opiera się na materiale faktograficznym, pochodzącym z filmu "Wszystko co kocham". Nie używam go w celach komercyjnych, ale tylko dla celów pracy naukowej.
Since at the present time, the film industry is very dynamic and developing more and more films have to be translated, therefore I chose the topic translation of film for my masters’s thesis. I have chosen the Polish film "Wszystko co kocham" by Jacek Borcuch, because the theme of the film is interesting not only for Polish but also for foreign viewers. This film presents the historical events in Poland, which had a large influence on the stability and peace in Europe. I have chosen this particular Polish film, because I want to bring the Polish history and culture to the German audience. My master’s thesis is divided into 10 chapters. In the first chapter I deal with the problems of translation, in the second section, I distinguish between the Polish and German film industry. Here I discuss the synchronization (dubbing), and voice over. In the next chapter I describe the subtitles and all aspects associated with this phenomenon, viz. the criteria of subtitling because of linguistic component, features well-edited subtitles, the criteria from the technical point of view, and pros and cons of subtitling. The fourth chapter is about processing of subtitling. In the fifth section, I discuss the culture-related backgrounds. I describe how the abbreviations, vulgarisms, and wordplays should be translated. In the penultimate section I present the information about the film "Wszystko co kocham", including the description. The final section analyzes the scenes selected by me, each divided into three aspects, which are realities (historical aspect), vulgarisms (jargon) and humor (wordplays).The present master’s thesis is based on the factual materials, which come from the film "Wszystko co kocham". I do not use them for commercial purposes, but only for my master’s thesis.

Symultaniczna interpretacja akcentuje miejsca wspólne podmiotów lirycznych oraz tropi pozornie marginalne sygnały kulturowe.
The paper is a comparative analysis of two contemporary American poems which activates mechanisms of linguistic (comparing diff erent translations and confronting them with the source texts), and cultural (elaborating on the religious, philosophical and countercultural issues concerning the Beat Generation and gay culture in the US) analyses from a thanatological and gender perspective. It is an att empt to show the affi liations between these literary works and the tradition of American poetry as well as their novelty. Simultaneous interpretation highlights loci communes of lyrical subjects and discerns seemingly marginal cultural signs.

Opis:: The aim of this paper is to present a method of landscape analysis with the application of computer techniques. In particular, it is useful in the case of decision making, concerning acceptability of the certain transformations of space, especially, when it has high visual qualities. The method is executed in several steps and the initial one consists in the creation of a digital terrain model, with regard to its cover. It serves for calculations of the visual impact extent. In the next stage, this area is investigated, taking into consideration its tourist and recreational activation. Panoramic photographs took in the fixed places are pre-processed, in order to distinguish cultural and natural substance. In the last phase, qualitative and quantitative analyses of views are conducted, indicators for which are, as follows: the average image brightness and its fractal dimension. Achieved numerical values can be helpful in the more objective expert decision making.

Opis:: Der Artikel stellt phraseologische Verbindungen im heutigen Polnisch und Französisch vor. Das Material umfasst umgangssprachliche Phraseologismen und fest in der Sprache verankerte Phraseologismen. Die Analyse erweitert die sowohl von polnischen als auch von romanischen Schriftstellern durchgeführten Untersuchungen zum kulturellen Bild der Liebe um umgangssprachliches phraseologisches Material und ein vergleichendes Element, das es ermöglicht, gemeinsame Tendenzen in der Vervielfältigung der phraseologischen Ressourcen beider Sprachen aufzuzeigen. Die Originalität des Textes ergibt sich vor allem aus der Beschreibung von Phraseologismen, die in beiden Sprachen noch nicht beschrieben wurden – umgangssprachlich, aus dem Englischen entlehnt, vulgär, beleidigend. Das Forschungsziel des Artikels ist es, das kulturelle Bild der Liebe in beiden Sprachen zu rekonstruieren und gemeinsame Entwicklungstendenzen, Ähnlichkeiten und Unterschiede innerhalb beider Ressourcen aufzuzeigen. Das Ziel ist erreicht, die Forschung kann fortgesetzt und erweitert werden durch die Analyse von phraseologischen Verbindungen, die phraseologischen Innovationen unterworfen sind. Um das kulturelle Bild der Liebe zu rekonstruieren, habe ich eine semantische und lexikalische Analyse der Lexeme vorgenommen, die in vielen phraseologischen Verbindungen im Zusammenhang mit der Liebe vorkommen (z. B. Herz), sowie der Phraseologismen selbst. Die Ergebnisse der Untersuchung zeigen eine gemeinsame Tendenz in der Art und Weise, wie die phraseologische Ressource in beiden Sprachen vervielfältigt wird – Entlehnungen aus dem Englischen, die teilweise mit der Orthografie der Regeln der Zielsprache übereinstimmen können. Beiden Sprachen gemeinsam ist die Verwendung der Herz- und Augensymbolik in vielen phraseologischen Verbindungen. Im Französischen gibt es mehr phraseologische Verbindungen mit Tiernamen als im Polnischen. Es lassen sich mehrere Phraseologismen unterscheiden, die in beiden Sprachen ihre genaue Entsprechung haben.
The article presents phraseological compounds in contemporary Polish and French. The material in- cludes colloquial phraseologisms and phraseologisms established in the language. The analysis extends the research – conducted by both Polish and Romance experts – on the cultural image of love by adding colloquial phraseological material and a comparative element, which made it possible to show common tendencies in the multiplication of the phraseological resources of both languages. The originality of the text results primarily from the description of phraseologisms not yet described in both languages – colloquial, borrowed from English, vulgar, offensive. The research goal of the article is to reconstruct the cultural image of love in both languages and to indicate common developmental tendencies, similarities and differences within both resources. The goal has been achieved, the research can be continued and extended by the analysis of phraseological compounds subjected to phraseological innovations. In order to reconstruct the cultural image of love I made a semantic and lexical analysis of lexemes that appear in many phraseological compounds related to love (e.g. heart) and the phraseologisms themselves. The results of the research indicate a common tendency in the way the phraseological resource is multiplied in both languages – borrowings from English, which can partly match the orthography of the target language’s rules. Common to both languages is the use of heart and eye symbolism in many phraseological compounds. French has more phraseological compounds containing animal names than Polish. Several phraseologisms can be distinguished, which have their exact equivalents in both languages.

Opis:: The main theme of this thesis is political discourse as a specific form of discourse. In the first chapter I will define political discourse and present its attributes, paradoxes, and problems related to the classification of this form of discourse. I will also track the history of the disposal of political speech. In the second chapter I will show the degree to which argumentation and manipulation enter into political discourse and by which means the manipulation in political speech takes the form of an argument. My aim is to draw a line between argumentation and manipulation. The chapter ends with a reflection on the theories of political discourse analysis, which constitutes a final point of the theoretical part of my thesis. In the analytical part of the thesis I will present an analysis of discourse made by Duchastel and Armony. Finally, in order to verify their effectiveness and exploratory capabilities, I will apply their methods to analyse selected discourses of French political scene.
W mej pracy pragnę zając się specyficzną forma dyskursu jaką stanowi dyskurs polityczny. W pierwszym rozdziale postaram się sformułować definicję dyskursu politycznego, wskazując jego atrybuty oraz paradoksy i problemy związane z jego klasyfikacją. Prześledzę również historyczną ścieżkę rozdysponowania słowa politycznego. W drugim rozdziale pokażę w jakim stopniu argumentacja i manipulacja wpisują się w ten rodzaj dyskursu i za pomocą jakich środków manipulacja w mowie politycznej przybiera formę argumentu. Postaram się zarysować granicę pomiędzy argumentacją a manipulacją. Rozdział zamykam refleksją nad teoriami analizy dyskursu politycznego, aby w trzecim rozdziale przejść od teorii do praktyki i przedstawić analizę dyskursu dokonaną przez Duchastel’a i Armony’ego. Następnie, aby zweryfikować ich skuteczność i możliwości odkrywcze, zastosuję ich metody przy analizie wybranych dyskursów francuskiej sceny politycznej.
Dans mon mémoire je fais une approche vers une forme spécifique de discours qui constitue le discours politique. Dans le premier chapitre j’essai de donner la définition du discours politique, en décrivant les spécificités qui le caractérisent et je présente les paradoxes et les problèmes liés à sa classification. Je m’arrête aussi sur la question de la distribution de la parole publique au cours de l’histoire. Dans le deuxième chapitre je veux montrer à quel point l’argumentation s’inscrit dans le discours politique et quels sont les moyens du travestissement de la manipulation sous forme d’argument. En plus je dessine la ligne de démarcation entre l’argumentation et la manipulation. Je clôture ce chapitre par la formulation des théories accumulées autour de l’analyse de la parole politique pour montrer dans le troisième chapitre leur application pratique, où je vais présenter l’analyse du discours de Duchastel et Armony. Ensuite, pour examiner leur efficacité et leur potentialité j’analyse avec les mêmes méthodes les discours choisis de la scène politique française.
