Opis:: The Six Sigma originates from the manufacturing sector and Statistical Process Control. In the recent years Six Sigma has evolved into a business philosophy based on an organisational culture and managers’ commitment. The aim of this chapter is to show how the DMAIC model, which is at the heart of the Six Sigma method, can be used to improve the process of lecturer assessment. The results of the project showed that the methodologies of Six Sigma and DMAIC certainly require some simplification in institutions of higher education. This chapter discuss necessary modifications, the limitations of the applications of various statistical tools, character of collected data, and the way the data are collected and testing. Nevertheless, the presented project results indicate that they can be very useful in determining the causes of problems and solving problems occurring in numerous processes performed in universities. And in accordance with the principles of Lean and the PDCA method, it is only facts and data that should constitute a basis for making decisions.

Opis:: The current paper aims to outline the potential and most important aspects of the Strategic Environmental Assessment process (directive 2001/42/EC). First of all, the analysis considers the importance of evaluation instruments in decision-making processes and moves on to environmental assessment, focusing on the peculiarities of Strategic Environmental Assessment. Although SEA is an innovative instrument in favouring and promoting a democratic approach to the government and development of the territory, it nonetheless presents a series of problems. The latter regard aspects such as: its integration into planning and programming activities, its role within these processes, the methodologies applied, stakeholder involvement, the quality of the assessment process and the how the suggestions are perceived and acknowledged.

Opis:: Purpose: The aim of this article is to propose a method allowing for an objective verification method of prepared occupational risk assessment in companies. Design/methodology/approach: The methodology of presented method consists from two steps including hazards checking according to presented unified template and counting the result of the indicator of verification according to prepared indicators presented in this article. Findings: Proposal of method included in this article allows to ease leading the process of verification occupational risk assessment thanks to standardized way of verification process. Practical implications: Application of the proposed method as the basic internal audit or inspection tool in the area of occupational risk management for checking propriety of functioning risk assessment in organizations. Originality/value: Unique method of verification prepared risk assessment results.

Opis:: W ostatnim okresie obserwuje się gwałtowny rozwój rynku wtórnego pojazdów (zakup i sprzedaż pojazdów używanych), odczuwalny szczególnie po wejściu Polski do Unii Europejskiej. Przyczyniło się to do wzrostu liczby sprowadzanych pojazdów często powypadkowych, poddawanych przed przekroczeniem granicy pośpiesznym naprawom, których stan techniczny jest trudny do oszacowania dla potencjalnego nabywcy. Opisywana sytuacja wymaga odpowiedniego przygotowania kadry rzeczoznawców, którzy będą posiadać niezbędne predyspozycje fachowe i dysponować podstawową aparaturą diagnostyczną.
Nowadays, we had seen fast development of vehicles secondary market (the purchase and sale of used vehicles), perceptible particularly after entry of Poland to European Union. This contributed to growth of vehicles imported number, often seriously damaged, subjected before crossing border hasty resuscitative repairs, which technical state is difficult to estimation for potential buyer. Described situation requires responsibly preparation of experts' personnel that will possess indispensable professional predispositions and will dispose basic diagnostic apparatus.

Opis:: The paper presents an attempt to develop better and cheaper methodology for evaluation of the quality of the ships’ computerized Planned Maintenance System databases. A concept for the better methodology has been developed following many times verified rule that faster and cheaper is better. The concept of the methodology has been checked in operation, tested on four different databases. Results of the evaluation performed by the concept are compared with an expert evaluation using old, verified methodology, performed on same databases. Comparison valuated the concept, bringing the verdict if it is functioning or not, showing that the old and verified rule is not functioning every time.

Opis:: W artykule przedstawiono propozycje wprowadzenia zmian w systemie opiniowania służbowego żołnierzy w Siłach Zbrojnych RP. Ocenianie służbowe/okresowe stanowi jeden z bardzo istotnych instrumentów dowodzenia i zarządzania jednostkami wojskowymi. Obowiązujący system oceniania służbowego/okresowego nie uwzględnia najlepszych praktyk zarządzania i wymaga pewnych zmian w celu jego udoskonalenia oraz dostosowania do obecnych potrzeb Sił Zbrojnych. System oceniania powinien być dostosowany do rodzaju organizacji (firmy) i uwzględniać jej specyfikę. W zaproponowanym procesie opiniowania okresowego przyjęto podejście funkcjonalne, uwzględniając jego najistotniejsze aspekty. Na każdym z etapów procesu wskazano na zakres przedsięwzięć i propozycji zmian z nim związanych. Starano się zastosować ujęcie kompleksowe obejmujące podmioty oceniania, procedury, spójne narzędzia, sprecyzowane kryteria, metody i techniki oceniania oraz zasady oceniania.
The article presents proposals for changes to the system of service opinion of soldiers in the Polish Armed Forces. Service/periodic assessment is one of the very important instruments of command and management of military units. The current service/periodic assessment system does not take into account best management practices and requires some changes to improve it and adapt it to the current needs of the Armed Forces. The assessment system should be adapted to the type of organization (company) and take into account its specificity. The proposed interim opinion process adapted a functional approach taking into account its most important aspects. At each stage of the process, the scope of the projects and proposals for changes related to it were indicated. Efforts were made to apply a comprehensive approach involving assessment entities, procedures, coherent tools, specific criteria, assessment methods and techniques, and evaluation principles.

Opis:: Nowadays the equipment used on ships is becoming more and more sophisticated, safety of shipping depends heavily not only on trustworthiness of high-tech products, but also on mariners’ competence. It is necessary to find methods to enable seafarers to keep track with technical developments. Simulators as a tool combined with a properly developed course curriculum and qualified instructors provide an appropriate method not only for training, but also for measuring, assessing and evaluating individual mariner performance in order to test levels of competency and proficiency. According to Nieri (1995, p. 1/6), “The development of performance-based assessment tools would utilize the widely-recognized advantages of simulators and part-task trainers to generate a scenario in which the license candidate must demonstrate his knowledge of system relationships, knowledge of operational procedures, monitor systems and situations, respond to unexpected occurrences, identify and diagnose problems, and manage personnel, in a dynamic world“. This paper discusses the usage of new capabilities of the NTPRO 4000 full mission ship handling simulator in the assessment and evaluation processes at Lithuanian Maritime Academy.

Opis:: Artykuł prezentuje wyniki badań jakościowych, których celem było poznanie opinii studentów pedagogiki specjalnej na temat negatywnych aspektów edukacji online, wynikających z ich doświadczeń jako uczestników takiej formy kształcenia w latach 2020-2022. Rezultaty badań wskazują, że studenci dokonywali oceny jakości procesu kształcenia zdalnego, zwracając uwagę na niedostatki kompetencji cyfrowych i dydaktycznych nauczycieli – w zakresie realizacji treści kształcenia, jak i procesu kontroli i oceny. Zmiana w trybie kształcenia wywołana pandemią przyczyniła się do powstania trudnych do przezwyciężenia barier poznawczych i motywacyjnych, oraz deficytów w zasobach wiedzy. Analiza wskazywanych przez studentów strat uświadamia istotne sfery procesu kształcenia, które mogą stanowić obszar optymalizacji i poprawy efektywności procesu kształcenia akademickiego pedagogów.
The article presents the results of qualitative research, the aim of which was to find out the opinions of special education students on the negative aspects of online education, resulting from their experiences as participants of this form of education in the years 2020–2022. The results of the research indicate that students assessed the quality of the remote education process, paying attention to the shortcomings of teachers' digital and didactic competences in terms of the implementation of the content of education, as well as the process of control and assessment. The change in the mode of education caused by the pandemic has contributed to the emergence of cognitive and motivational barriers that are difficult to overcome, as well as deficits in knowledge. The analysis of the losses pointed out by students makes us aware of important spheres of the education process, which can be an area of optimization and improvement of the effectiveness of the academic education process of educators.

Opis:: Wytłaczanie z rozdmuchiwaniem w formie jest procesem technologicznym przetwórstwa tworzyw polimerowych o rosnącej popularności rynkowej wynikającej z wzrostu zapotrzebowania na opakowania wytwarzane tą techniką dla kosmetyków jak i również wytworów stricte technicznych wykorzystywanych m.in. w motoryzacji. Realizacja procesu wytłaczania z rozdmuchiwaniem w układzie roboczym maszyny jest składową wielu czynników między innymi przetwórczych, narzędziowych i materiałowych, które wpływają na jakość wytworu wewnątrz pustego. W pracy przedstawiono ocenę wpływu wymiarów geometrycznych dyszy głowicy wytłaczarskiej akumulacyjnej oraz zmiennej zawartości recyklatu PE-HD we wsadzie pierwotnym, na jakość wykonywanego wytworu rozdmuchiwanego w odniesieniu do masy oraz grubości ścinaki wytworu w przyjętych punktach. Dokonano także oceny wybranych wskaźników jakości i wydajności zrealizowanego procesu.
Extrusion blow molding is a technological process for the processing of polymeric materials with increasing market popularity resulting from increased demand for packaging made with this technique for cosmetics and technical product used in the car industry. Implementation of the extrusion blow molding process in the work polymer processing system is determined by many factors: processing, tooling and materials, which influence on the final hollow product quality. In research work describe assessments of the extrusion die gap geometrical characteristics and different PE-HD recyclat content impact on the technical blowing product quality, in relation to mass and wall thickness. Moreover, evaluation was performed for chosen quality and efficiency indicators in the realizing process.
