Opis:: The aim of this study was to propose a classification of teachers’ burnout patterns. For this purpose, a qualitative analysis of different burnout patterns shown in a sample of Slovenian primary school teachers was performed. Respondents’ burnout scores were obtained via the MBI-ES. Eight distinct burnout profiles emerged from the analysis, indicating that the territory between the positive and negative endpoints of teacher burnout is complex. The findings of the study could be used as a framework for future research regarding teacher burnout and for designing interventions for its amelioration.

Opis:: Wypalenie zawodowe nazywane jest chorobą XXI wieku. Nie ma jednej, ogólnej, międzynarodowej definicji tego zjawiska. Przyczyn wypalenia doszukiwać można się w sferze indywidualnej, interpersonalnej oraz organizacyjnej. Syndrom wypalenia zawodowego niesie za sobą negatywne konsekwencje nie tylko dla samej jednostki, ale także dla jej rodziny i przyjaciół. Przedmiotem badań w poniższym artykule są przyczyny i skutki wypalenia zawodowego wśród osób wykonujących zawody służebne.
The syndrome of burnout is called a disease of the 21st century. There is no one general, international definition of this phenomenon. The causes can be found in the individual, interpersonal and organizational sphere. Burnout syndrome has negative consequences not only for the individual, but also for his family and friends. The subject of the research in the article below are the causes and effects of burnout among people working in the profession service.

Opis:: This paper explores the psychometric properties of the Polish adaptation of the MBI-SS questionnaire, which measures academic burnout in students. The factorial structure of the tool was examined, and its validity was evaluated using a sample from Polish state universities (N=935). Findings suggest that the MBI-SS possesses strong psychometric parameters. Data supports the tool's 3-factor structure and internal consistency. However, there are reservations regarding one item (MBI_6). Consequently, the 15- item version of the MBI-SS is recommended as a suitable tool for assessing burnout in Polish students.

Opis:: This quantitative study explored the profiles of academic burnout among students using Latent Profile Analysis (LPA). This study seeks to identify distinct burnout profiles in the Polish university student population. Using the Maslach Burnout Inventory-Student Scale (MBI-SS) adapted for Polish students, we analyzed data from 939 students across various disciplines and years of study, focusing on exhaustion, cynicism, and inefficacy. After using LPA ones were identified: minimal, moderate, and elevated risk of burnout, highlighting the variance in how burnout manifests among students. The findings underscore the importance of tailoring interventions to the specific needs of each burnout profile.

Tytuł:: Burnout of school principals in Poland : work demands, resources, and stressors

Opis:: Background: School principals face increasing professional challenges and psychological strain, amplified by extra-organizational stressors such as political and systemic changes, climate change, war, and economic instability. These factors can elevate job demands and increase the risk of professional burnout. Methods: This study examined the relationship between burnout among 117 Polish public school principals and their subjective perception of extra-organizational stressors as well as the use of job resources. Burnout was measured using the Oldenburg Burnout Inventory, while support sources and perceived external pressures were assessed via a custom questionnaire. Multiple regression analyses were conducted to assess predictive relationships. Results: Burnout was significantly associated with perceptions of changes in the educational system. Institutional support from the education system was linked to lower burnout levels, while support via social media was associated with higher burnout and disengagement. Other factors, such as concerns about the economy, climate change, and war, were not significantly associated with burnout. Conclusion: Findings highlight the critical impact of systemic educational reform as a unique stressor contributing to burnout among school principals. Institutional support appears to buffer this effect, while reliance on informal networks such as social media may reflect deeper professional distress. These results suggest the need for structural support mechanisms tailored to school leadership roles.

Opis:: Job burnout as a social phenomenon covers more and more groups of employees. The problem mainly affects professions of a social nature, which require constant contact with other people. Previous studies have shown that police service is classified as high-risk in the context of job burnout due to the mode and manner of work that police officers perform every day. In their work, policemen are faced with ever greater requirements regarding their competence, availability, high quality and appropriate pace of performed tasks. Therefore, in their service they are particularly vulnerable to being affected by job burnout syndrome. This article attempts to determine the extent of the phenomenon of job burnout syndrome and its causes in a group of police officers working and representing various police departments in the city of Krakow. The research was conducted on the basis of the Polish version of the Oldenburg Burnout Inventory (OLBI).

Opis:: ObjectivesThe aim of this study was to assess the validity and reliability of the Serbian versions of the Copenhagen Burnout Inventory (CBI) and the Study Burnout Inventory (SBI) among fifth-year medical students at 5 universities in Serbia.Material and MethodsThe study included 573 fifthyear medical students at 5 universities in Serbia. The research instrument consisted of SBI and CBI. The reliability of these instruments was assessed using an internal consistency measure (Cronbach’s α), an intra-class coefficient (ICC) and factor analysis.ResultsCronbach’s α for SBI was 0.83, including for exhaustion 0.73, for cynicism 0.70, and for inadequacy 0.48. The test-retest reliability (ICC) was 0.75. Cronbach’s α for personal burnout on CBI was 0.89, for the faculty-related burnout 0.86, and for the faculty-members-related burnout 0.92. Cronbach’s α for CBI was 0.93. The factor analysis for SBI showed 2 factors and for CBI 3 factors.ConclusionsThis study revealed that the Serbian versions of both SBI and CBI could be used for the assessment of burnout in this population.

Opis:: Burn-out or exhaustion syndrome is caused by a prolonged exposure to a chronic professional stress. Public Health Professionals are the most exposed to this kind of risk. The ultimate goal here is to determine the prevalence of the burn-out and search for factors associated with this pathology among those who work in the field of health. Our sample, which is from the Ibn Sina Hospital in Rabat, consists of 150 nurses, 80 doctors, and 40 administrators. A self-questionnaire was employed, the Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI) as well as a clinical interview. The results of this study show a high degree of burnout. Moreover, 56.66% of participants show a high level of emotional exhaustion, 45.18% suffer from a high level of depression. Meanwhile, the loss of a sense of personal accomplishment is high among 48.51% of those surveyed. The emotional exhaustion observed among people who have worked for a long time ago is associated with the means of transportation used and to the unsuitable hours of work. Depersonalization exists among elderly people and the oldest at work. This study confirms the existence of a high level of burnout among health professionals. Many socio-demographic and socio-professional factors contribute to the increase in the level that people are affected. These factors encourage the promotion of better working life conditions.
