Opis:: A person is responsible for the implementation of values and at the same time is responsible for treating himself/herself as a value. A human person is capable of self-determination, because s/he can act deliberately. Through self-reflection, a person can choose a course of action for himself/herself and assert “inner self” to the outside world through their choices. The person is also responsible to himself/herself for self-fulfillment. It’s the fulfillment of a person that leads to happiness, which consists in the realization of freedom by choosing the truth. It is associated with the relationship to other people and to God. In this article, the issue of religious education in the family, with special attention to Christian values, as the foundation of education has been presented. Firstly, the author highlights the most significant values in religious education, which is freedom of the person, love, responsibility, and then he shows the role of values in the transmission of content: salvation, Jesus Christ, the Church and Mary.

Opis:: Two legal acts crucial for the identity of European civilization and culture: Edict od Milan (313) and Treaty of Lisbon (2007) can be compared on the basis of axiology. The autor argues that the first one ensured the freedom of faith for Christians in Roman Empire and preserved them from any kind of persecution. The second one – Treaty of Lisbon – by omitting the direct reference to Christianity as a crucial heritage of Europe makes this freedom and the position of Christianity in the public space uncertain. The new set of European values being mentioned in the documents of EU and constituting premises for European integration in the future seems to stand in opposition to traditional Christian values. Poland with culture and national identity deeply rooted in Christian tradition faces very serious dilemmas both in its internal and foreign (European) policy.

Opis:: Category of The Other and its instances are an obligatory element of the world’s visions constructed by social actors within many various discourses present in Polish modern social space. Discursive communities shape an attitude towards The Other that is compatible with worldview line of discourse to which they belong. The Other can be therefore perceived as The Second, coexisting beside The Yours. It can also be presented as The Stranger or even as The Enemy. This rule is valid in the nationalistic discourse where the strangeness is contrasted with hominess and it becomes one of the strategies of building the identity. It is also a strategy that places everything what is different not only beyond the discursive community’s boundaries but also beyond the national community.

Opis:: The subject of this study is the analysis of the contact between Christian values and human rights or the concept of human rights in the context of the dynamic development of IT technology and the shaping of not only global but digital society. The new organization of society is characterized by a multiplicity of value systems which interpenetrate each other. In the area of Western culture, the human rights system occupies a central place, which has become a kind of new decalogue. The aim of this study is an attempt to define the place of traditional Christian values in a digital society. The research hypothesis was the statement that Christian values are not only timeless, but also universal and perfectly fit into the functioning of the digital society. The study uses the method of legal and dogmatic analysis of legal provisions and judgments as well as the analysis of cases of conflicts between Christian values and human rights. In my conclusions, I state that the confrontation of these two systems of values leads to the need to rebuild the organization of Christians. An ideal model may be the diaspora life of people who not only preach but also practice these values.

Opis:: Istotą wychowania jest ukazanie tego, co wartościowe, a przekaz środowiska wychowawczego na temat wartości powinien być wspólny, klarowny i konsekwentny. Dogodne warunki do tego, by mógł dokonywać się integralny rozwój osoby w oparciu o wartości związane z domem, stwarza edukacja domowa. Daje ona dużą szansę, ale jest również wyzwaniem dla zainteresowanych taką formą kształcenia rodzin, jak również społeczeństwa i państwa.
The essence of education is to show what is valuable, and the message of educational environment should be common, clear and consistent. For shaping student's personality properly, such message should flown from the first basic, natural educational environment which is in the family home, and is created mainly by parents, but siblings and other relatives also contribute to creating it. Upbringing should be related to a paragon. Such a paragon gives human values, and even more Christian values accepting laws of nature which illuminate the Revelation of God. Home education creates favourable conditions to let integral development of a person take place based on values related to home. It gives a great opportunity, but it is also a challenge not only for those interested in such a form of family education but also for the society and the state.

Opis:: The subject of the paper is answering the question: what kind of values are the bases of the European integration? This question is only part of more complex problem, namely: what is the future of Europe? These issues are current in the face of events, which we are witnesses. Żyjąc w społeczeństwie pluralistycznym nie można ignorować problemów dotyczących integracji europejskiej i jej dwóch podstawowych nurtów: dziedzictwa kulturowego narodów europejskich i ideologicznych założeń partii politycznych.

Opis:: Artykuł poświęcony jest przemianom następującym w sferze aksjonormatywnej, których skutkiem jest zmiana miejsca i roli Kościoła we współczesnym społeczeństwie, często określana mianem kryzysu. Potrzebne mogą okazać się pewne zmiany strukturalne oraz pastoralne, które mogłyby się przyczynić do wzrostu wiarygodności i skuteczności głoszenia Ewangelii współczesnemu człowiekowi.
The article is devoted to changes occurring in the axionormative sphere, which result is a change in the situation of the Church in society. It is often referred to as a crisis. The author presents the most important threads of the discussion, which has been going on for several decades in the environment of German theologians and sociologists. They identify the reasons for the weakening of the role of church institutions and point out the possibilities of remedying these problems. The situation of the Catholic Church in Germany is different than in Poland, but similar trends in social and cultural development, including changes taking place in the sphere of values, might lead to the Church of Poland facing similar issues in the future. Therefore, structural and pastoral changes may also be needed in the Polish Church, to increase the effectiveness of preaching the Gospel to modern man.

Opis:: Odmienne ukształtowanie cywilizacyjne Polski i Rosji stało się przedmiotem wielu opracowań. Mają one głównie charakter historyczny i sytuują się w obrębie historii politycznej oraz historii idei, bądź charakter kulturowy i wchodzą w obręb historii kultury czy historii literatury. Dominująca jest tendencja historyczna, która eksponuje ideowo-polityczny wymiar stosunków polsko-rosyjskich w kontekście religijnym. After the fall of communism and the collapse of the USSR, a new phase of Polish-Russian relations began. Rather than being bound by the ideals of a compromised communism, the two countries began to shape new, necessary relations based on universal values belonging to the spheres of civilization, politics, culture, and social life. These new ideas were a part of Christianity, whose foundation was based on human rights, and likewise the communication of partnered sovereign states. This is a realistic perspective of Polish-Russian relationships, where Poland respects these values, while Russia returns to them.

Opis:: Aim. The aim of the article is to identify opportunities for religious education in the field of promoting the values of sustainable development. By identifying key concepts, define options for future strategies in the implementation of sustainable development values in school teaching of religious education. Methods. The starting point is the analysis of the current religious education curriculum, which governs the teaching of religious education and is approved by both state and church authority. Based on the analysis, identify strengths and weaknesses and define potential areas within the curriculum where sustainability values can be applied. Results. The values of sustainable development and Christian values are based on a common anthropological platform, which is based on the dignity of the human person. Religious education should also be based on this platform. Conclusion. In order to apply the values of sustainable development, it is necessary to adjust the current curriculum in terms of content and scope of topics. At the same time, it is necessary to innovate in the way of training future teachers. The goal of innovations is the internalization of sustainability values within the value orientation of both teachers and students. Cognitive value. Christian values and the values of sustainable development are not in conflict. The content of the religious education curriculum has the potential to innovate its content to meet the current requirements of the United Nations (UN) agenda as well as the teachings of the Magisterium.
