Opis:
Chmura obliczeniowa (Cloud Computing) stanowi obecnie ważny trend na rynku IT.
Cloud computing is now an important trend in the IT market. Cloud Computing services function by delivery and provision of efficient and scalable IT resources (hardware, software and services), and the service provider, which is usually an external subject (or internal IT department), offers IT services to customers via the network. Cloud computing is growing rapidly, both in Poland and abroad, and more often complements or even replaces the classical form of implementation of information technology in organizations. In the paper on the basis of reports and studies research prepared by different organizations the current status and forecast of Cloud Computing development in Poland and in some EU countries were presented. It also identified barriers conditioning the further development of Cloud Computing in Poland.

Opis:
The subject of the study is a comprehensive qualitative and quantitative analysis of the type of cloud cover over Poland in 1996–2020. The analysis was based on the characteristics of particular types of clouds at three levels, based on hourly measurement data from 36 meteorological stations (IMWM-NRI). The variability of the share of cloud types was analysed on three levels in the multi-annual, annual and daily course. Maps of spatial distribution for selected clouds were plotted. In the study of the multi-year period, clouds of the low-level were observed most frequently, and the most numerous cloud type was Stratocumulus. Altocumulus clouds were found to have the highest frequency on the mid-level, while Cirrus clouds of various species were found on the high-level. On the low-level, the highest increase in the share in the analysed multi-year period was recorded for Stratocumulus clouds, and the highest decrease for moderately and strongly uplifted Cumulus clouds. On the mid-level, the largest increase in the share was observed for Altocumulus clouds, and the largest decrease for Nimbostratus clouds. Among the clouds of the high-level, the greatest increase in the proportion of Cirrostratus clouds not stretching the sky was observed, while the greatest decrease in the share was for the Cirrus uncinus clouds. The annual and daily courses on all the levels showed cyclic occurrence, meaning that the different types of clouds have characteristic periods when they are observed more or less frequently, both on an annual and daily basis.

Opis:
In this paper, description of a concept of cloud storage is offered. Cloud data storage is a model of an online storage where the data is being stored in multiple, divided between network servers that are provided for clients’ usage, mostly by a third-party company. The majority of the cloud storages (as opposed to file-exchangers) are offering almost boundless set of functions for free, by only limiting the size of the available storage (mostly a couple of gigabytes). Integrated data mining is being used for extracting potentially useful information from unprocessed data. The methods of data analysis are quite important with cloud computing. The implementation of the methods of integrated data mining inside the cloud will let the users receive the helpful information from non-structured or half-constructed web data sources. The main purpose of this work is to organize huge diverse data coming from different sources into clusters, depending on the type of data.

Reliability of visual detections of cirrus over Poland

Opis:
Earth is a cloudy planet—at every moment, 62-72% of the planet is covered by cloud. Its presence and properties affect the flowof energy between the sun, Earth and the atmosphere. More comprehensive information about cloudiness is important to improveour understanding of the impact of cloud on Earth’s radiation budget. The aim of our work is to assess the accuracy of ground-based high-level cloud detections over Poland compared with satellite data. This project is the very first evaluation of error invisual high-cloud observation. Specifically, we answer a fundamental question: how effective are ground-based observers indetecting high-level cloud? Our unprecedented analysis is based on two datasets: traditional, visual observations from 43 selectedsynoptic stations and satellite (lidar) data, for the years 2006-2017. Ground-based observations were obtained from the archivesof the Polish National Weather Service (IMWM-NRI), while satellite data came from the CALIPSO mission. Our final datasetcomprised 7548 ground-based and satellite observations. Accuracy was assessed using the following indicators: probability ofdetection (Pd), probability of false alarm (Pfa), and overall accuracy (ACC). Overall (day and night observations), in the absenceof lower-level cloud, observers correctly detected 80% of high-level cloud. However, when lower-level cloud was present, observers could not detect around 70% of high-level cloud. In sum, ground-based, high-level cloud detection is a function ofthe presence of lower-level cloud, the time of day, and the size of the area over which cirrus are observed/detected.

Opis:
A hybrid is a mixture of two different things, resulting in something that has a little bit of both. Like the rare zeedonk, a hybrid of a donkey and a zebra. Hybrid refers to many areas of life biology, electrical power generation, electronics, film, games and sport, music, literature, vehicles. Other examples of the use of hybrids Hybrid security, a type of economic instrument, Hybrid word, a word derived from more than one language, Hybrid market, a system allowing stock trades to be completed either electronically or manually, Hybrid organization, an organization that mixes elements of various sectors of society The world around us is a hybrid and it is no longer just a state of transition. This also applies to Cloud Computing. Hybrid cloud is a composition of two or more clouds (private, community or public) that remain distinct entities but are bound together, offering the benefits of multiple deployment models. Business requires a flexible IT infrastructure that can scale on demand. A hybrid cloud gives organizations the best of both worlds, so company can take advantage of external resources when it makes sense from business perspective. Varied use cases for hybrid cloud composition exist. For example, an organization may store sensitive client data in house on a private cloud application, but interconnect that application to a business intelligence application provided on a public cloud as a software service. This example of hybrid cloud extends the capabilities of the enterprise to deliver a specific business service through the addition of externally available public cloud services. Hybrid cloud adoption depends on a number of factors such as data security and compliance requirements, level of control needed over data, and the applications an organization uses. Another example of hybrid cloud is one where IT organizations use public cloud computing resources to meet temporary capacity needs that cannot be met by the private cloud. This capability enables hybrid clouds to employ cloud bursting for scaling across clouds. Cloud bursting is an application deployment model in which an application runs in a private cloud or data center and „bursts” to a public cloud when the demand for computing capacity increases.

Opis:
This paper presents the results of a study conducted in Slovenia between January and June 2011 in Slovene micro-enterprises. We used a structured questionnaire with some demographic questions about business computerization, the owner’s characteristics and some questions about the level of awareness of Cloud computing and what significance have the listed properties of Cloud computing services for owners to hire Cloud solutions. The results show that almost two thirds of micro-enterprises did not know anything about Cloud computing at that time. One of the most important information source on Cloud computing was the Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Micro-enterprises showed the highest interest in the possibility of hiring IaaS – data store capacities and backups. As the most important characteristics they highlight reliability, security and performance of Cloud solutions. The results of this study were compared with the outcome of some other comparable studies, and some recommendations for micro-enterprises are given.

Opis:
This paper addresses a new cloud solution for e-Ordering and e-Invoicing solution. We faced several challenges in the process of the migration of the existing web application on the cloud, such as the reorganization of the proposed non-cloud model and the definition of the software modules that can communicate in a dynamic environment. In the design process we classified two kinds of software modules: static and dynamic. The classification is based on the level of required elasticity and scalability, as well as the activity that is associated with the corresponding module (tool). To finalize the implementation of this idea, we have developed indicators to determine the required conditions for the activation of additional cloud resources or the deactivation of the involved resources. The result of this design process is a new cost-effective solution with increased availability and performance compared to the non-cloud model. We also recognized the advantages and disadvantages of such a cloud solution, and discussed the characteristics that make our approach unique.
