Opis:: The aim of the cohesion policy is to accelerate the socio-economic development of Member States and their regions. Poland as well as its closest neighbour, the Czech Republic, have benefi ted from structural funds and the Cohesion Fund. The effects of provided aid have already become apparent but they differ given the scale of problems, including regional issues existing in these countries, and the amount of funds allocated. The aim of the article is to present the directions and the effects of the implementation of the cohesion policy in Poland and the Czech Republic with particular focus on the financial perspective of 2007–2013. The results of the evaluation of programmes for the years 2007–2013 show that EU funds are mostly spent on transport infrastructure. However, the support of entrepreneurship and innovation and human capital should be an important objective in the current programming perspective in order to transform and modernise the structure of economies.

Opis:: Social and economic cohesion is the essence of the European Union’s activities regarding regions. The level of development in many regions is below the EU average. For this reason, investments used by the EU’s Cohesion policy to achieve more coherence in the EU at the regional level. The aim of the paper is to assess the differentials of socio-economic cohesion among Polish regions for 2010 and 2015. The chosen aspects (such as affluence, health, education, innovativeness, entrepreneurship, regional infrastructure), which characterize socio-economic development, were analysed. The taxonomic method and cluster analysis were used to accomplish the goal. The analysis is crucial to assess the disparity between Polish regions regarding the level of development in terms of the effects of the cohesion policy.
Spójność społeczno-gospodarcza stanowi istotę działań UE w odniesieniu do regionów. Poziom rozwoju wielu z nich jest poniżej średniej UE. Dlatego inwestycje realizowane z funduszy polityki spójności zmierzają do osiągnięcia większej spójności na poziomie regionalnym. Celem artykułu jest ocena zróżnicowań spójności społeczno-gospodarczej województw w latach 2010 i 2015. Do analizy przyjęto wybrane aspekty charakteryzujące rozwój społeczny i gospodarczy, takie jak zamożność, zdrowie, edukacja, innowacyjność, infrastruktura regionalna. Do realizacji celu zastosowano metodę taksonomiczną (Z. Hellwiga) oraz analizę skupień (metoda Warda). Analiza istotna jest dla oceny dystansu dzielącego województwa pod względem poziomu rozwoju w aspekcie efektów polityki spójności.

Opis:: Spójność terytorialna jest kategorią rozwoju przestrzeni w polityce europejskiej i krajowej. Territorial cohesion is a category of space development in European and national policies. The purpose of the paper is to assess the territorial cohesion of Poland's subregions. Assessment of cohesion is conducted using methods of multidimensional comparative analysis. This enables the author to evaluate the diversity and interdependence of the levels of economic and social development of the subregions of Poland. Central Statistical Office (GUS) data from 2014-2015 have been analysed.

Opis:: In the last ten-odd years we have been observing a discussion held in the European Union on the change of the regional policy paradigm in terms of its objectives, priorities, tools and the geographical scope of intervention. Changing development conditions require modification of the European cohesion policy model, the main priority of which still is to equalize the level of development of regions in the Community Member States. At the turn of the centuries we can see changes in the way the European cohesion policy is implemented and also the orientation of the equalization policy (which compensates the social and economic backwardness of regions) towards the development policy (which supports competitiveness, takes advantage of the endogenous potential for development and eliminates various barriers). Such policy is to contribute to a more effective use of the potential for development in the entire Community to stimulate growth, employment and cohesion. This paper aims at attracting attention to the evolution of the European cohesion policy model towards a place-based policy.

Opis:: The aim of this article is to typify the verbal and visual means that determine whether a media expression, seemingly monologic in form, fits the interview genre. The research material consists of monologued audiovisual interviews of a confessional nature from the series “Room Number Seven” published on YouTube. Given the repetitive and cyclical nature of vlogs, the monologued interview in an audiovisual platform like YouTube evolves into a sub-genre with a relatively stable set of features. These characteristics no longer define individual messages but rather shape the content in a serial format. Internet user comments on selected episodes from the series “Room Seven” clearly demonstrate that, for viewers, monologued confidences are an unconventional demonstration of the interview genre pattern.

This article examines the role of deixis in cohesive devices used in written communication forms, focusing on the use of deictic elements for cohesion at various discourse levels, as well as the persistence of original meanings of such deictic elements in selected units, e.g. discourse markers and coreferential expressions.

Opis:: The article is an attempt of verification of the possibility and of its degree of the analysis of the linguistic tools that determine the text cohesion in political works of a medieval French writer Christine de Pizan (XV c). The cohesion relations depend on various linguistic as well as extralinguistic factors and diaphoric metaphors are one of ways to provide the textual cohesion in an economical manner. The concept of the textual economy is the outcome of linguistic and extralinguistic rules. In the world of the text based on a subjective perception, thematic progression is not always logical from the point of view of information orientation even more so because the compilation structure of the political work of Christine de Pizan opens the opportunities for emergence of unexpected cohesion relations.
Cet article est une tentative pour vérifier si la méthodologie moderne de la cohésion textuelle, est pertinente dans le texte de Christine de Pizan où les relations cohésives dépendent de différents facteurs. Puisque les expressions diaphoriques sont un moyen de maintenir et assurer la cohérence du texte d'une façon économique, l'observation de ces facteurs dans le texte médiéval en prose de Christine montre à quel point la diaphore est un phénomène discursif riche et complexe. Le concept d'économie du texte laquelle n'est qu'une moyenne des règles linguistiques et les éléments qui assurent la progression du texte ne constituent qu'un aspect de ce procédé. Dans l'univers textuel, la progression thématique n'est pas toujours «logique» du point de vue de l'orientation informative; il arrive que des constructions, à première vue diaphoriques, qui ne les soient pas dans la saisie globale du texte, parce qu'elles reprennent une information présentée auparavant, sans continuité informationnelle maintenue par d'autres instruments cohésifs. De plus, la structure compilative des œuvres en prose de Christine fait créer «un univers dans l'univers textuel», ouvrant une voie à des liens cohésifs inattendus.

Opis:: This study aimed to determine whether family and neighbourhood social cohesion are directly or indirectly associated with the reduction of behavioural problems, including internalising and externalising behaviours in young adolescents. Strong family and neighbourhood cohesion both play protective roles in maintaining the mental health of children and adolescents. From a systemic approach, adolescent behavioural problems are linked to family cohesion and mediated by neighbourhood social cohesion, which may serve as a buffer against family difficulties. Data from 700 parents of adolescents aged 10–13 years from southern Poland were analysed. Within the total, 207 adolescents had diagnoses of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). Structural equation modelling, adjusting for financial situation and ADHD, was used. Sex, ADHD, single‐parent household, presence of siblings and social media use were explored as moderators. The data come from the Child Behaviour Checklist (CBCL), the Family Adaptation and Cohesion Evaluation Scales (FACES)‐IV and the Brief Form of the Perceived Neighbourhood Social Cohesion Questionnaire (PNSC‐BF). Family and neighbourhood social cohesion were both related to behavioural problems. Neighbourhood social cohesion was a significant mediator of the relationship between family cohesion and internalising and externalising behaviours. The presence of siblings was a significant moderator for the indirect effect on externalising behaviours. The findings of the study support the thesis that family and neighbourhood social cohesion serve as protective factors for adolescent behavioural problems. They highlight the need for therapeutic interventions that strengthen family cohesion to mitigate adolescent behavioural symptoms, while promoting neighbourhood relationships and community engagement enhances belonging and parental competence, ultimately improving mental health outcomes.
