Opis:: The paper presents the examination of quality of transmission designed and built based on IP/MPLS technology as well as BGP and OSPF routing protocols of corporate network. It indicates the factors forming and affecting the service quality in IP network, including QoS support network architecture, particularly the architecture of DiffServ differentiated services. Main problems occurring in these architectures have been discussed. The analysis of data and voice transmission via IP network of Best Effort architecture and in Differentiated Service architecture of differentiated transmission quality have been conducted. It has been presented that the MPLS technology may be effectively applied in building corporate networks requiring network services of highest quality parameters with lossless packet transmission and maximum delay guarantee.

Opis:: This paper shortly describes the IP QoS System which offers strict quality of service (QoS) guarantees in IP-based networks and supports a number of, so called, classes of services. Such solution requires to implement in the network a set of QoS mechanisms and algorithm working on packet, connection request and provisioning levels. Furthermore, we require signaling system for informing the network about new connection request and network resource allocation capabilities for providing required resources to given connection. The IP QoS System is based on the next generation networks (NGN) and differentiated services (DiffServ) architectures and, at least for now, it is designed for single domain only.

Opis:: Obecna sieć internet opiera się na stosie protokołów TCP/IP oraz dwóch głównych założeniach: na oferowaniu jednej klasy usług (tj. usługi best effort) oraz przewymiarowaniu sieci. Te założenia projektowe w istotny sposób ograniczają obecnie rozwój sieci internet, uniemożliwiając oferowanie usług wymagających przekazu informacji w czasie rzeczywistym. W artykule przedstawiono wyniki dotychczasowych prac ukierunkowanych na wprowadzenie jakości przekazu pakietów w sieci internet oraz przyjęte na dzień dzisiejszy główne założenia budowy sieci, nazwanej Internet Przyszłości.
Current Internet employs TCP/IP protocol stack and it works under two main principles: best effort class of service is the only one available in the network and network resources are over-dimensioned, if possible. However, the above assumptions limit further evolution of the Internet since such network is not able to assure packet transfer characteristics required by real-time applications. The paper summarizes the results of work aimed At improving quality of packet transfer in the IP-based networks and explains the fundamentals for Future Internet.
