For many years Auschwitz-Birkenau State Museum has been conducting excavation works on the site of the former German concentration and extermination camp Auschwitz II-Birkenau, related to the implementation of projects to preserve the authenticity and other ad hoc maintenance works, as well as those related to the extension of the necessary infrastructure network in the area of the former camp. These works, carried out in various parts of the former Birkenau, are subject to obligatory archaeological research. Over the years, a large number of reports on archaeological works have been collected. Researchers faced the challenge of accumulating dispersed archaeological information, mainly about the location of archaeological research sites and about the findings that were noted during the works. The chosen solution was the use of GIS software. Initially, this was QGIS, which is to be replaced by ArcGIS Pro over time. This makes it possible to place excavation sites in a generalised form on a map (contemporary or historical) or on a properly prepared aerial photo (for any year from the years available: 1944-2022). The outline of the excavation in the above-mentioned programs is interactive with the user. The description of the findings from a given place is added to it. The set of data thus prepared can then be filtered and selected, like in a popular spreadsheet. The amount of information on one map can be enhanced with underground infrastructure networks (as information about possible collisions) and road and construction infrastructure of the camp area which enables better orientation in the surroundings. Introduction of the possibilities of deeper analytics of large data sets is the main basis for outlining the possibilities of Geographic Information Systems.

Opis:: Im Artikel zum Thema der Formulierung transivit per manus in den mittelalterlichen Dokumenten der Gnesener Erzbischöfe stellt die Verfasserin fest, diese Diplome seien arm an Kanzleinotationen. Von den fast 400 gedruckt veröffentlichten Dokumenten besitzen nur etwa 90 Kanzleinotationen. Die meisten Kanzleinotationen stammen aus der zweiten Hälfte des 14. und vom Beginn des 15. Jahrhunderts. Die Formulierung transivit per manus gehörte zu den wichtigsten Kanzleinotationen in den Dokumenten der Gnesener Erzbischöfe und war eng verbunden mit der Organisation der erzbischöflichen Kanzlei im Spätmittelalter.

Opis:: Der Autor stellt zwei bisher unveröffentlichte Gründungsdokumente vor, die er im Archiv des Lemberger Erzbistums in Lubaczów fand. Das eine stammt aus dem Jahre 1443 (Kopyczynce), das zweite von 1514 (Bruchnal), das dritte von 1522 (Bowarów). Vom ersten Dokument gibt es einige Kopien, die der Autor in Konsistorialbüchern, Visitationsakten und in der eine Unterabteilung der Rektifikate enthaltenden Konsistorialregistratur fand. Der Autor ist der Meinung, daß der vorliegende Artikel einen Beitrag zur Erforschung der Geschichte des Erzbistums Lemberg bzw. der einzelnen Pfarreien im Mittelalter leistet.

Opis:: Erich Maria Remarque-Friedenszentrum has existed since 1997, although its activity in the new building was preceded by the creation of a documentary center at the University of Osnabrück (1985), and a few years later by the archives. The aim of these activities was to commemorate the writer E. M. Remarque born in Osnabrück, collect materials about his life and works and popularize his literary legacy. For thirty years, the center has expanded the scope of its activity considerably, becoming not only an archive, but also a research, educational and publishing facility. The approaching jubilees – the 50th anniversary of the writer’s death and the 125th birthday – incline one to summarize, reflect on the history of the center’s creation and development, and to pose a question about the tasks and possibilities for the future.
Der Beitrag setzt sich zum Ziel, die Entstehungsgeschichte und den Wirkungsbereich des Erich Maria Remarque-Friedenszentrums in Osnabrück darzustellen. 1985 zunächst als Dokumentationsstelle im Fachbereich der Sprach- und Literaturwissenschaft der Universität Osnabrück ins Leben gerufen, dann ins Remarque-Archiv verwandelt und letztendlich als Erich Maria Remarque-Friedenszentrum weltweit bekannt befasst sich diese Institution seit über drei Jahrzenten mit Leben und Werk des aus Osnabrück stammenden Erich Maria Remarque. Die Aktivitäten des Friedenszentrums konzentrieren sich nicht nur auf die Dokumentation des Nachlasses, sondern umfassen Veröffentlichungen von Forschungsergebnissen über Remarques Werk, Neuausgaben seiner Werke, Zusammenarbeit mit Schulen, Bildungsinstitutionen und Forschungsstellen in der ganzen Welt. Die bevorstehenden Jubiläen des Schriftstellers, sein 50. Todestag im Jahre 2020 und 125. Geburtstag 2023, geben Anlass zu einer Bilanz und regen zugleich zur Reflexion über künftige Aufgaben dieser Institution an.
Erich Maria Remarque-Friedenszentrum istnieje od 1997 roku, choć jego działalność w nowym budynku poprzedziło najpierw powołanie do życia centrum dokumentacyjnego przy Uniwersytecie w Osnabrück (1985), a parę lat później archiwum. Celem tych działań było upamiętnienie urodzonego w Osnabrück pisarza E.M. Remarque’a, zbieranie materiałów o życiu i twórczości oraz popularyzowanie jego spuścizny literackiej. Przez trzydzieści lat centrum poszerzyło znacząco swój zakresdziałania, stając się nie tylko archiwum, ale także placówką badawczo-naukową, edukacyjną i wydawniczą. Zbliżające się jubileusze – 50. rocznica śmierci pisarza i 125. urodzin – skłaniają do podsumowania, refleksji nad historią powstania i rozwoju centrum, a także do postawienia pytania o zadania i możliwościach na przyszłość.
