Opis:
Aim: The aim of the study was to analyze the type and intensity of aggressive behavior of patients with schizophrenia and dual diagnosis, as well as to describe their mental state, selected personality traits and sociodemographic variables. Material and methods: 81 patients with mental disorders were included in the study. A comparative analysis was carried out in 3 groups of patients: (group 1) with schizophrenia and addiction, who had committed a prohibited act, undergoing therapy in isolation as a protective measure (n = 27), and (group 2) a group of people with a dual diagnosis (n = 27) and (group 3) a group of patients only with a diagnosis of schizophrenia (n = 27). The following tools were used: 1) PANSS (Positive and Negative Syndrome Scale) – to assess psychopathological symptoms; 2) BPAQ (Buss and Perry Aggression Questionnaire) – to measure the intensity and indicators of aggression; 3) EPQ-R questionnaire – to assess personality variables; 4) IVE scale – to assess impulsivity, risk-taking and empathy; 5) Author’s sociodemographic survey. Main results: The obtained results indicate that forensic patients with dual are characterized by a greater intensity of general psychopathology, a predominance of positive symptoms and a greater intensity of negative symptoms than general psychiatric patients. Both groups with dual diagnosis reveal a higher level of general aggression and a greater tendency to physical aggression compared to patients diagnosed with schizophrenia only. Forensic patients demonstrate greater anger than the group of patients with schizophrenia only. Practical implications for forensic science: Analysis of the type and intensity of aggressive behavior, as well as personality, sociodemographic and clinical variables may have prognostic significance in estimating the risk of recidivism of forensic patients. It can also provide tips for the correct selection of therapy dedicated to a specific patient in order to correct his or her behavior. Knowing of the nature of patients’ aggressive behavior can also facilitate the development of special preventive and protective programs for both staff and families of aggressive patients.

Opis:
Summary INTRODUCTIONThis paper concerns the problem of the relationship between the incidence of alcoholism and depression and dual diagnosis of both ailments. The epidemiology, pathogenesis, treatment methods and basic concepts of both alcoholism and depression was discussed in the introduction. These considerations were the foundation for the analysis of the test results submitted by various research centers in Poland and abroad in the understanding of the causes and mechanisms for the development of alcoholism and depression symptoms and their interdependencies. Analysis of the results of these studies have been completed with the most important theories of addiction and dual diagnosis.METHODSResearch part of this work is based on the results of HAPPIE studies concerning health, alcohol and psychosocial factors in the Eastern Europe, carried out in 2002-2008 by the University College London, in collaboration with research centers in Europe.CONCLUSIONS:The results provided the following conclusions: as the causes of emergence of depression in the light of research in this paper, can be distinguished factors concerned with gender, material status, marital status and education level, as well as with frequency of alcohol consumption.

Opis:
The study presents the results of the evaluation of the community treatment model Together, we can do more, which is based on the assumptions of community psychiatry. The described model is an example of a form of assistance recommended by WHO for people with serious mental disorders. The evaluation of the treatment model was based on data obtained from therapists and family members of patients with dual psychiatric diagnosis (PDP). Formative evaluation (evaluation of the program implementation process) and summative evaluation (evaluation of results – e.g. in the form of obtained support) were performed. In terms of evaluating the goals and process of the program, the focus was on the size and type of support received by the patient. The outcome evaluation indicator was the assessment of the patient’s functioning in various areas of everyday life, outside the medical system. Self-care, establishing relationships with other people, the ability to use public institutions, mental state, including awareness of addiction/disease have improved. There was also a reduction in the burden on the family with the patient’s mental problems. The evaluation of the environmental treatment model showed significantly longer duration of specialist care than hospitalization. According to the Statistical Yearbook of the Healthcare Institution (2019), the average length of stay in a psychiatric ward in Poland fluctuates around 1 month. In the discussed model, the average duration of participation in the project by a person with PDP was 8 months, with a standard deviation of 5.4.

Opis:
To improve the reliability of motor system, this paper investigates the sensor fault diagnosis methods for T-type inverter-fed dual three-phase permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) drives. Generally, a T-type three-level inverter-fed dual three-phase motor drive utilizes four phase-current sensors, two direct current (DC)-link voltage sensors and one speed sensor. A series of diagnostic methods have been comprehensively proposed for the three types of sensor faults. Both the sudden error change and gradual error change of sensor faults are considered. Firstly, the diagnosis of speed sensor fault was achieved by monitoring the error between the rotating speed of stator flux and the value from speed sensor. Secondly, the large high-frequency voltage ripple of voltage difference between the estimated voltage and the reference voltage was used to identify the voltage sensor faults, and the faulty voltage sensor was determined according to the deviation of voltage difference. Thirdly, the abnormal current amplitude on harmonic subspace was adopted to identify the current sensor faults, and the faulty current sensor was located by distinguishing the current trajectory on harmonic subspace. The experiments have been taken on a laboratory prototype to verify the effectiveness of the proposed fault diagnosis schemes.
