Opis:: In this paper we present the use of electrochemical impedance spectroscopy measurement as a tool to measure the thickness of calcium sulphate film formed on an XC70 carbon steel. The solution used is a mixture of sodium sulphate and calcium chloride solution at different concentrations. The film thickness of calcium sulphate is estimated, after an immersion time of 4 days. The results indicate reciprocal relationship between measured capacitance and thickness of calcium sulphate film.

Opis:: The paper presents the results of the pitting resistance investigations of selected stainless steels in the chloride environment and the simultaneous impact of erosive factors using the cyclic polarization technique. Additionally, using electrochemical techniques, ie: electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) and measurement of corrosion potential, the behavior of the passive layer of selected stainless steels in the environment of chlorides and erosion was examined. On the basis of the obtained results, the resist-ance of stainless steels 1.4301 and 1.4404 was found, both on the effect of chloride ions and erosive factors in the studied systems. Both tested steels are susceptible to pitting corrosion. It was found that a good measure of erosive impact on stainless steel is both impedance spectrum analysis and continuous monitoring of the corrosion potential of steel.

Opis:: Celem pracy jest ocena zróżnicowania stopnia innowacyjności polskich regionów. Do analizy wykorzystano 21 wskaźników cząstkowych zgrupowanych w czterech obszarach opisujących poziom innowacji w każdym regionie (warunki ramowe, inwestycje, działania innowacyjne, oddziaływanie). Dane pochodziły z European Innovation Scoreboard 2021. W badaniu zastosowano metodę wzorca rozwoju Hellwiga. Na podstawie zmiennej syntetycznej utworzono ranking oraz wyodrębniono grupy typologiczne regionów o podobnym stopniu rozwoju w każdym rozważanym obszarze. Otrzymane wyniki porządkowania i klasyfikowania poszczególnych województw pozwoliły na ukazanie dystansu dzielącego poszczególne regiony od siebie pod względem badanego zjawiska, a także umożliwiły na jakościowe i ilościowe ujęcie występujących dysproporcji. Najbardziej innowacyjnym regionem w Polsce jest wydzielony statystycznie region stołeczny warszawski. Jednocześnie wyraźnie widać duży dystans pozostałej części województwa mazowieckiego i konieczność dalszej koncentracji środków z Unii Europejskiej stymulujących jego rozwój. Do liderów innowacyjności, oprócz regionu warszawskiego, należy zaliczyć województwa: małopolskie, pomorskie oraz dolnośląskie. Stosunkowo wysoką pozycję zajmuje region podkarpacki – w obszarze inwestycji, działań innowacyjnych oraz wpływu (na zatrudnienie, sprzedaż innowacyjnych produktów i zrównoważony rozwój) sytuując się w grupie II. Natomiast jego słabością są warunki ramowe (kapitał ludzki, atrakcyjne systemy badawcze i cyfryzacja). Najniższy poziom innowacyjności odnotowały natomiast wspomniany region mazowiecki (poza Warszawą), świętokrzyski, zachodniopomorski oraz warmińsko-mazurski. Każdy region wyróżnia określona specyfika, stąd uzyskane wyniki mogą stanowić ważne informacje dla samorządów do przyjęcia kierunków działań dynamizujących proces budowania regionalnych systemów innowacji.
The aim of the study was to assess the diversification of the degree of innovation in the Polish regions. For the analysis 21 partial indicators were used, these were grouped into four areas describing the level of innovation in each region (framework conditions, investments, innovative activities, influence). The data was taken from the European Innovation Scoreboard 2021. Hellwig’s development pattern method was used in the research. A ranking was created based on the synthetic variable, and typological groups of regions were extracted with a similar development level in each of the assessed areas. The results obtained from organizing and classifying individual voivodeships showed the distance between individual voivodeships with regard to the examined criteria, and allowed for the creation of a qualitative and quantitative description of the existing disproportions. The most innovative region in Poland is the statistically separate Warsaw capital district. At the same time, the difference between the rest of the Mazowiecki region and its capital is clearly visible, as well as the necessity to further concentrate European Union resources there in order to stimulate the development of the region. Among the leaders of innovation, apart from the Warsaw district, are the Małopolski, Pomorski, and Dolnośląski regions. The Podkarpacki region holds a relatively high position in the areas of investment, innovative activities and influence (concerning employment, selling innovative products and sustainable development), and is situated to the second (II) group. On the other hand its weakness include its framework conditions (human capital, attractive research systems and digitalization). The lowest level of innovation was recorded in the aforementioned Mazowieckie region (excluding Warsaw), and in the Świętokrzyski, Zachodniopomorski, and Warmiński-mazurski regions. Each voivodeship is distinguished by its specificity, hence the obtained results may constitute important indicators for local governments to adopt courses of action to stimulate the process of building regional innovation systems.

Opis:: Understanding the photoelectrochemical water oxidation performance ofhighly textured semiconductors requires systematic studies capable of revealing relevantcorrelations among the synthetic methods used, the resulting morphologies, and theirrelationship to activity. Here, we carry out a systematic study on anodized $TiO_{2}$ tounderstand the impact of anodization potential on the transition from a nanoporous to ananoring morphology and its influence on the semiconductor properties and photoassistedwater oxidation. We demonstrate that the applied anodizing potential has a profoundimpact on the material properties, in particular, the morphology of the top layer as well asthe size and shape of nanotubes. The anodized substrates produced at higher potentialspossess superior photoelectrochemical properties, which are ensured by a hierarchicalnanoporous-nanoring morphology, high donor density, and a more positive flat bandpotential. We further confirmed the generation of oxygen at the anodic $TiO_{2}$ under whitelight irradiation through scanning electrochemical microscopy (SECM). This work introduces a methodology to systematicallysynthesize and characterize the features of hybrid semiconductor materials toward materials with improved photoelectrochemicalproperties for renewable energy technologies.

Opis:: The aim of this study was to investigate the corrosion behaviour of AISI 316 stainless steel to be used as rebars in construction. Austenitic stainless steel AISI 316 samples were put to the alkaline aqueous environments of composition: 0.01M NaOH+0.01M KOH both free of chlorides and those containing 3% NaCl. The hydrogen ion exponent pH was 10 and 12.5. The following electrochemical methods have been used to investigate corrosion: polarization curves PC, Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy EIS, and 24-hour open circuit potential OCP studies. The obtained results are quite comprehensive and indicate on faster self-restoration of passive films under action of chlorides. The chlorides do not cause essential changes in the potential values, both corrosion and critical, in comparison with the results on samples studied in the solutions free of chlorides. The studies reveal that, out of two alkaline environments, the AISI 316 SS better performs in the presence of solutions of lower pH. The presence of chlorides in the solution enables faster formation of a passive film and its eventual auto-restoration in case of disruption. The presented investigation results indicate the chlorides accelerate transition of Cr(III) to Cr(VI) on steel surface. The longer steel AISI 316 sample remains in the solution, the more and more film formed on the steel surface strengthens and gets stabilized resulting in better surface protection.
W pracy przedstawiono wyniki badań korozyjnego zachowania się stali kwasoodpornej AISI 316 - przewidywanej do zastosowań konstrukcyjnych w budownictwie - w roztworach alkalicznych. Przygotowane próbki stalowe umieszczono w roztworach o składzie: 0.01M NaOH+0.01M KOH bez chlorków oraz zawierającym 3% NaCl. Wykładnik jonów wodorowych wynosił 10 i 12,5. Do pomiarów korozyjnego zachowania się stali zastosowano badania krzywych polaryzacyjnych PC, elektrochemiczną spektroskopię impedancyjną EIS, oraz badania potencjału obwodu otwartego OCP. Wyniki badań są zgodne i wskazują na szybsze samoodnowienie warstewki pasywnej pod wpływem chlorków. Chlorki nie powodują zasadniczych zmian w wartościach potencjału, i to zarówno korozyjnego jak i krytycznego, w porównaniu z wynikami uzyskanymi w roztworach bez chlorków. Wyniki badań wskazują, że spośród dwu zastosowanych roztworów, stal AISI 316 jest bardziej odporna na korozję w roztworach o niższym pH. Obecność chlorków w roztworze umożliwia szybsze tworzenie się warstewki pasywnej i jej odtwarzanie w przypadku przerwania. Wyniki badań wskazują, że chlorki przyspieszają przejście Cr(III) do Cr(VI) na powierzchni stali. Wydłużenie czasu pozostawania stali w roztworze powoduje umocnienie warstewki i stabilizację ochrony powierzchni stali.

Opis:: This contribution concerns the modelling of fuzzy information in geographic databases. For this purpose, fuzzy regions and fuzzy points have been defined in the past, along with a number of suitable operations. For numerical information - such as the surface area of fuzzy regions, or the distance between fuzzy regions and/or fuzzy points - the computation depends on the interpretation given to the fuzzy regions or points. Consequently, it is important to differentiate between the interpretation in order to obtain correct results. This article explains in detail the impact of the interpretation in terms of both the surface area and the distance.

Opis:: Angular momentum pumps are very often applied onboard ships. These pumps are used in cooling circuits of medium and high power engines, power plant boilers and in bilge, ballast and fire installations. Very extensive use of angular momentum pumps on board is connected with their numerous advantages. During operation the wear of marine hull, the rotor and shaft seals take place. The research attempts to increase the service life of shafts. The article presents the research results referring to the analysis of the influence of finish treatment (lathing, grinding and burnishing) on the corrosion properties of steel applied to marine pump shafts. The research was performed on a roller of 40 mm in diameter made of X5CrNi18-10 (AISI 304 L) stainless steel. The lathing process was carried out by means of a WNMG WF 080408 Sandvik Coromant cutting tool with replaceable inserts. The grinding process was performed by grinding attachment for lathes. The 1 - 80x10x32 - 99C 80-N V grinding wheel was used for the process. The process of burnishing was done by SRMD burnisher by Yamato. In addition, the influence of the burnisher passes number on the corrosion properties was determined. The paper will present the results of electrochemical impedance spectroscopy research. To conduct the survey the Atlas 0531 EU and IA potentiostat was used. Determination of the corrosion process parameters was performed computer programs: AtlasLab 2.0 and EIS Spectrum Analyzer.

Opis:: A n-type semiconductor ZnO has high transmittance features, excellent chemical stability and electrical properties. It is also commonly used in a range of fields, such as gas sensors, photocatalysts, optoelectronics, and solar photocell. Magnesium-doped zinc oxide (Mg-ZnO) nano powders were effectively produced using a basic chemical precipitation process at 45°C. Calcined Mg-ZnO nano powders have been characterized by FTIR, XrD, SEM-EDX and Pl studies. XRD measurements from Mg-ZnO revealed development of a crystalline structure with an average particle size of 85 nm and SEM analysis confirmed the spherical morphology. Electrochemical property of produced Mg-ZnO nanoparticles was analyzed and the specific capacitance value of 729 F g-1 at 0.5 A g-1 current density was recorded and retained a specific capacitance ~100 percent at 2 A g-1 current density.
