Opis:: The authors present results of a study which attempted to use indirect estimation methods (including a method accounting for spatial correlation) to estimate certain characteristics enterprises. The study relied on data from the DG-1 survey conducted by the Statistical Office in Poznan, which provides the basis for most of the short-term indicators used to describe enterprise activity in Poland. The DG-1 survey is a monthly report about economic activity, which collects crucial information about economic entities, their activity, production and stocks. The survey is addressed to enterprises employing over 9 people.
W referacie zostaną przedstawione wyniki badania, w którym podjęto próbę wykorzystania metod estymacji pośredniej (w tym także metody, która uwzględnia korelację przestrzenną) do oszacowania pewnych charakterystyk przedsiębiorstw. W badaniu wykorzystano informacje pochodzące z badania DG–1 prowadzonego przez Urząd Statystyczny w Poznaniu, stanowiącego podstawę do opracowywania większości wskaźników krótkookresowych dotyczących działalności przedsiębiorstw w Polsce. Badanie DG–1 to miesięczny meldunek o działalności gospodarczej, który zawiera najważniejsze informacje dotyczące podmiotów gospodarczych, ich działalności oraz produkcji wyrobów i zapasów. Obejmuje ono swym zasięgiem przedsiębiorstwa, w których liczba pracujących przekracza 9 osób.

Opis:: In the article the generalized Lambda-Tukey distribution was presented with the following four parameters of: location, scale, skewness and kurtosis. The distribution presented, due to its high flexibility is widely applied, especially when empirical distributions are sophisticated and do not show desired accordance with known classical theoretical distributions. The examples presented on the fitting of the DAX index distribution to the four parameter Tukey distribution turn out to be better than the ones for the beta distribution.

Opis:: The aim of the papers is to study the effect of noise reduction, carried out using the nearest neighbor method, on the identification of chaotic dynamics in the selected time series. Opis:: The issues discussed in this chapter constitute a voice in a methodological discussion on the scope and manners of the utilisation of patent statistics in economic research. The discussion comprises the following issues: the gist of a patent monopoly, the evolution of opinions on the benefits and costs of a patent monopoly, and the possibilities and limitations of utilising patent statistics in the quantification of economic processes. This chapter is of a review and has methodological character. The analysis conducted within the text leads to two groups of conclusions. One of them concerns the shortcomings and limitations of patent databases, while the other concerns the identification of scientific exploration fields by means of patent metadata.
Zagadnienia omawiane w rozdziale są głosem w dyskusji metodologicznej na temat zakresu i sposobów wykorzystania statystyki patentowej w badaniach ekonomicznych. W rozdziale omawia się: istotę monopolu patentowego, ewolucję poglądów na temat korzyści i kosztów monopolu patentowego, oraz możliwości i ograniczenia wykorzystania statystyki patentów w kwantyfikacji procesów ekonomicznych. Rozdział ma charakter przeglądowy i metodologiczny. Analiza prowadzona w tekście prowadzi do dwóch grup wniosków. Pierwsza grupa dotyczy braków i ograniczeń baz danych patentowych; druga - identyfikacji pól eksploracji naukowej z wykorzystaniem metadanych patentowych.

Opis:: Population ageing is one of the major challenges of modern Europe. In this context is worth to assessment the differences in the situation of women and men aged 50+ on the labour market. In the area of interest are primarily people aged 50-59/64, which are at this stage of life in which the situation on the labour market is particularly difficult. Paper was prepared mainly on the basis of the unpublished data developed within the project “Equalisation of Opportunities in the Labour Market for People Aged 50+”. The analysis was conducted with the application of basic descriptive statistics, as well as chi-squared test. Comparing income of women and men aged 50+, t-Student test and median test for independent samples, as well as one- and two-way analysis of variance were used.

Opis:: My research is a living illustration of this observation. Criminals economic, as an entrepreneur, also managed by. They do it “on their own” or “someone else's” work or provide services, holders of public offices.The aim of my research is to organize the existing theories and definitions of economic crimes and their perpetrators.Economic crime is already primitive forms of farming of primary communities. However a more lively interest in it has been aroused relatively recently and this is connected with the creation of a free market.Since the economy is the area of life that serves to multiply wealthy goods and wealth benefits are an integral part of economic activity, this area of social relations is particularly exposed to the danger of behaviour that is contrary to the law and the values on which social order is based. Economic crimes accompany humanity almost from the very beginning, but it should be noted that they belong to these most refined and most difficult to detect, because most frequently they are committed under the cover of legality. Moreover, this type of prohibited activity is present in almost every sphere of socio-economic reality. Therefore, with time, the need arose to systematise the scientific categories and conceptual networks that had emerged over the years. The aim of this article is to organize the existing theories and definitions of economic crimes and their perpetrators, including criminology and numerous current statistics from various sources. In the Polish literature, the issues of fraud, insurance fraud, credit fraud and others are discussed quite extensively. Economic crime is multifaceted and, apart from its typical forms, such as tax crime (tax evasion and extortion of undue returns) and understatement of public-law receivables, crime on the capital, banking and insurance markets, it also includes crime related to public procurement or copyright and related rights, as well as all types of crime aimed at gaining profit while taking into account market mechanisms. The perpetrators of such practices adapt their methods of action to the changing economic situation and the provisions of national and Community law, taking advantage of existing regulations or loopholes. Consequently, economic crime is a rapidly evolving form of criminal activity (an example of a new form of such crime could be the extortion of European Union subsidies).
W swojej pracy pragnęłam przedstawić temat oszustwa kredytowego i asekuracyjnego. rozważania rozpoczęłam od przybliżenia najważniejszych pojęć, przede wszystkim obrotu gospodarczego, który należy rozumieć głównie jako stosunki między podmiotami wymiany dóbr i usług, której towarzyszy użycie środków pieniężnych. kolejnym ważnym aspektem jest kwestia rodzajowego przedmiotu ochrony, którym jest owy obrót gospodarczy. natomiast indywidualnym dobrem będzie tu konkretne dobro danego poszkodowanego. Praca ta nie mogła obyć się bez próby zdefiniowania pojęcia "przestępczości gospodarczej" i scharakteryzowania jej cech, gdzie znamiennym będzie brak czynnika przemocy. W kolejnych rozdziale przeszłam do prawnokarnego opisu oszustwa gospodarczego, którego istotą jest wyłudzenie za pomocą fałszywego dokumentu, konkretnego instrumentu obrotu gospodarczego. Kolejny rozdział to analogiczny opis oszustwa asekuracyjnego, polegającego również na wyłudzeniu, ale w tym przypadku, nienależnego odszkodowania. W kolejnym rozdziale chciałam ukazać rozmiary przestępczości gospodarczej ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem art. 297 k.k. i 298 k.k.. Załączyłam w nim wiele statystyk, które przede wszystkim pokazały, że mimo spadku przestępstw kryminalnych rośnie liczną przestępstw gospodarczych. Nadal stanowią one jednak tylko ułamek wszystkich popełnianych w Polsce przestępstw. Ostatni rozdział to próba odpowiedzi na pytanie, jakie obecnie problemu z kontrolą dotyczą tych przestępstw na różnych etapach. Wyróżniłam etap ścigania i wykrycia, gdzie moim zdaniem, przede wszystkim brakuje współpracy instytucji z organami ścigania, oraz etap zapobiegania. Tu najważniejsze dla mnie było przedstawienie profilaktyki w przypadku obu tych oszustw, która w przypadku oszustwa kredytowego skupia się na przestrzeganiu przez pracowników wzorcowej procedury kredytowej, a w przypadku oszustwa asekuracyjnego, to udział własny jest podstawowym środkiem zabezpieczenia.

Badanie przeprowadzono na podstawie analizy literatury dotyczącej historii statystyki i dokonań jej prekursorów w wybranych państwach oraz danych Głównego Urzędu Statystycznego ilustrujących wzrost gospodarczy w Polsce w ujęciu regionalnym.
The relationship between statistics and economic growth of a country, dating back to ancient times, was always strong. With no doubt, it may be assumed that the development of statistics have an influence on the economic growth. Among the benefits of properly working official statistics system, including surveys and education, there is also the increased production efficiency and rapid growth of innovativeness. The aim of the article is to present the importance of official statistics for the economic growth at national and regional level. The study is based on literature review concerning history of statistics and achievements of its fathers in selected countries as well as on Statistics Poland data regarding economic growth in Poland in the regional scope.
