Opis:: The purpose of the study is to explore social competence among going adolescents. It is descriptive in nature and survey method has been used. The investigation has taken 200 school going adolescents as sample studying in govt. secondary school by using simple random technique. For collection of data the investigator has used social competence scale standardized by Prof. V.P. Sharma, Dr. (Mrs.) Kiran Shukla, Dr. (Mrs.) Prabha Shukla and result analysis, t-test was also used.

Opis:: The proper physical development of a child is the last criterion for achieving educational maturity. It is often underestimated; however, it is very significant in school activities, since a healthy, physically fit, and properly nourished child will be less exhausted by sitting at a desk, walking to school, or performing various tasks which may often seem challenging. The purpose of the paper is to evaluate the school maturity of kindergarten age and early school age children and their somatic and motor development in the context of their commencing school education. While verifying these general rules, studies on a group of 628 girls and boys aged 6 and 7 years were conducted in the city of Opole. The test prepared for this survey consisted of 7 fitness tests and body height, weight, and fat measurements. The results obtained have been subjected to statistical analysis. An analysis of the morphological measurement results and fitness tests demonstrate that both the six-year-old girls and boys did not attain the same level of physical school maturity as their 7 years old schoolmates. This level of maturity would enable them to withstand the educational requirements of the primary school curriculum.

Level of the personal maturity of the youth growing up in educational care centres, on the example of the orphanage and the household of independence

Opis:: Jest to praca o charakterze empirycznym, której celem jest pokazanie poziomu dojrzałości osobowościowej młodzieży przebywającej w placówkach opiekuńczo-wychowawczych na przykładzie domu dziecka i mieszkania usamodzielnienia. Grupę badawczą stanowiła młodzież w wieku 14-17 lat, w tym 20 wychowanków przebywających w mieszkaniach usamodzielnienia i 21 mieszkańców domu dziecka. Badania zostały przeprowadzone w dwóch Mieszkaniach Usamodzielnienia działających przy Zespole Ognisk Wychowawczych w Rybniku oraz w Domu Dziecka nr 1 w Krakowie.Praca składa się z trzech rozdziałów. W rozdziale pierwszym została przedstawiona literatura przedmiotu dotycząca charakterystyki i zasad funkcjonowania placówek opiekuńczo-wychowawczych oraz teorii związanych z kształtowaniem osobowości dojrzałej. Drugi rozdział stanowi podstawę metodologiczną przeprowadzonych badań. Natomiast w rozdziale trzecim przeprowadzona została analiza i interpretacja wyników badań własnych.
This dissertation is of empirical nature, and aims to illustrate personal maturity of the youth growing up in educational care centres, on the example of the orphanage and the household of independence. The study arm consists of youth aged 14-17, including 20 residents of the houselholds of independence and 21 residents of the orphanage. The research was conducted in two Households of Independence operating via Complex of Upbringing Centres in Rybnik and in the Orphanage no.1 in Kraków.The work consists of three chapters. The first chapter presents the subject bibliography related to characteristics and operation of care homes and theories treating of moulding an adult personality. The second chapter constitutes methodological basis for the conducted research, while the last chapter presents an in-depth analysis and interpretation of the results.

Opis:: Developing the emotional maturity of children and teenagers is one of the most important aims of the educational process. The mass media has a great impact on individuals, therefore their role in shaping one’s personality needs to be recognized and explained as they may facilitate the educational process. Ignoring the media’s role or using it inappropriately poses a lot of dangers connected with the destruction of the child’s emotional sphere, e. g. control disorders, a lack of emotional stability or the inability to deal with emotions in difficult situations. Professional support may help the individual to avoid these problems.
Wychowanie dziecka i nastolatka do emocjonalnej dojrzałości jest jednym z podstawowych celów oddziaływań wychowawczych. Wśród środowisk, które mają istotny wpływ wychowawczy na jednostkę, należy dostrzec i wyjaśnić rolę, którą w procesie kształtowania osobowości wychowanka odgrywają mass media. Stwarzają one szansę na usprawnienie i udoskonalenie procesu wychowania. Pomijanie roli mediów lub ich niewłaściwe użycie stwarza wiele zagrożeń, wśród których podkreślić należy te, które wiążą się z destrukcją sfery emocjonalnej dziecka i nastolatka, a więc zaburzenia kontroli i stabilności emocjonalnej, brak zróżnicowania emocjonalnego czy też nieradzenie sobie z emocjami w trudnych sytuacjach życia. Profesjonalne wsparcie wychowawcze daje szansę uniknięcia zasygnalizowanych trudności.

Opis:: Situational educational sensitivity is one of the components of the educational sensitivity model, which is the child's vulnerability to the implementation of tasks related to the role of the student. There are situational sensitivity of instrumental processes and situational educational sensitivity of directional processes. The study involved 74 children with hearing impairment in a profound and significant degree, beginning their studies in the first grade in primary school. The research was carried out in the first semester, in central Poland, in integration and special schools. The aim of the research was to determine the situational level of sensitivity of deaf pupils starting school education. The conducted research allows to determine which of the ranges are the best and the least developed, which enables orientation towards the rehabilitation and therapeutic interactions of this group of students.

Growing-up space in "Zmory" by Emil Zegadłowicz

Opis:: The article presents the individual growing-up process shown in Zmory (Nightmares) by Emil Zegadłowicz. The start thesis is that novel, playing with autographic and geographic references, has features of a parable, and its main theme is placing a growing individual in the world and universe. The analysis of the phenomenon includes: the topos of educational journey, development story genre conventions, and most of all the decisions of anthropologists regarding the ways of "practicing space" through creating a map and planning a route (M. de Certeau) and functioning of anthropologic places (M. Augé). The Author refers both to the geographic and historic realities, as well as ways of giving them symbolic meanings. The study is focused on the following issues: existence of Mikołaj Srebrempisany in a social space - exploring it and taming it; the internal world of a hero - meaning the space of: dreams, daydreams, experiences; and experiencing loneliness by him. The divagations and analyses reach the conclusion that the Nightmares is one of the latest depictions of growing up, presented in the spirit of tradition of a development story and originating in a 19th century formation, where recognizing and becoming placed in the anthropologic space leads to self-cognition and liberation of an individual.

The text refers to and simultaneously; characterizes multidimensional nature of transformations in the contemporary educational space of a small child. It demonstrates two scopes of the most significant changes in educational system, referring to educating a six-year-old child and the system of changes concerning pupils with special educational needs. The text discusses the areas of changes concerning educating of a small child. Two procedures implemented by MEN (Ministry of National Education) in the context of educating the pupil with special education needs were characterized as well in the following text. It also presents the results of researches examining the level of primary functions: visual and oral perception, low motor activity and speech of the first class pupils representing two age groups: six-year-old children and seven-year-old children.
