Opis:: This paper provides an analysis of selected topics in the field of eco-ethics. The school should be more involved in the protection of the natural environment, mainly by shaping truly responsible attitudes. Ecological education must become an integral part of a person’s upbringing. The aim of education should be to create and develop correct pro-ecological attitudes, which are opposed to the uncontrolled exploitation of natural resources. Environmental sustainability is only possible if people are persuaded to give up the consumer lifestyle (the so-called ecological asceticism).

Opis:: In the pursuit of success, stuck in the shadow of reality, we often forget that every day we use goods of the environment which surrounds us. We do not realize that behavior of particular people, their families and social groups influences the elements of natural history. This article focuses on the adjustment of our lifestyle to the idea of balanced development. That is why environmental education, which supports understanding the correlation between man, his products and the environment, should be offered to all people, in particular the youngest, who will be able to direct the patterns of pro-environmental behavior to elderly people.

Opis:: The aim of the article is to explain problems related to environmental education of children in the Second Republic of Poland, based on selected examples of the work of Maria Arct-Golczewska, Zofia Bohuszewiczówna and Wanda Haberkantówna. The work of these authors, i.e. stories for children and textbooks for environmental education to be used at general schools and secondary schools, was recommended by the Minister of Denominations and Public Enlightenment. These stories and textbooks were intended as teaching aids in the environmental education process, a process that was an implication of all educational activities. The authors named above also translated, into Polish, and popularized the work of foreign authors, especially the following: A. E. Brehm, A. B. Buckley, H. Coupin, H. Fabre, E. Hassenpflug, P. Ledoux, G. G. Lewis and E. Thompson. It must be emphasised that the work of these foreign authors were also used as teaching aids during the Second Republic of Poland.

Opis:: The aim of this research was to find out if the environmental education program prepared for preschool pupil s is effective in helping the 5 - 6-year-old age group gain environmental consciousness. For these purposes, a single group, pretestfinal test pattern was used. In the research, “Children’s Environmental Attitudes Scale” was used in the experiment group, before and after application and the data obtained were compared. An educational program of 8 weeks including drama, games and activities, Turkish, music and art activities subjects about air, water, soil, extinction of animal and plant species, climate change and waste problems was applied to the children.

Opis:: Recent research shows that ‘environmental denial’ (the denial of anthropogenic impact on the natural world) plays an important role in environmental education. The difficulty in changing our detrimental habits stems from the fact that identities in our societies are bound up with consumerist practices. Because we cannot simply give up practices that shape our identity, environmental education has to fi nd ways of substituting unhealthy habits with environmentally acceptable ones. One method of achieving this is through experiential education based on experiences with the natural world and their importance for identity formation. The paper presents a case study involving experiential education in environmental ethics, implemented at the university level. Findings show that the implementation of experiential education technique (fi eld trip) yielded positive results in connection with students’ overcoming of environmental denial and consequential change of their environmental outlook.

Opis:: Environmental protection is a fundamental process that requires urgent changes in people's behavior. On this basis, environmental education is currently one of the actual areas of education and the funding of these activities is an extremely important area in this process. One of the possibilities is the Green Education Fund, which supports the development of environmental education, upbringing and awareness in the Slovak Republic. The paper is focused on the evaluation of the Green Education Fund as the funding opportunity for environmental education in Slovakia. Based on the available data, which include the first two calls of the Green Education Fund, we evaluated data on applicants for support from this fund, the amount of financial contribution, location of selected projects, supported and rejected projects and evaluated the course of the first two calls of this fund.
Ochrona środowiska to podstawowy proces, który wymaga pilnych zmian w zachowaniu ludzi. Na tej podstawie edukacja ekologiczna jest obecnie jednym z rzeczywistych obszarów edukacji, a finansowanie tych działań jest niezwykle ważnym obszarem w tym procesie. Jedną z możliwości jest Green Education Fund, który wspiera rozwój edukacji ekologicznej, wychowania i świadomości w Republice Słowackiej. Artykuł koncentruje się na ocenie Green Education Fund jako możliwości finansowania edukacji ekologicznej na Słowacji. Na podstawie dostępnych danych, które obejmują dwa pierwsze nabory Green Education Fund, dokonaliśmy oceny danych wnioskodawców ubiegających się o wsparcie z tego funduszu, wysokości wkładu finansowego, lokalizacji wybranych projektów, projektów wspieranych i odrzuconych oraz ocenialiśmy przebieg pierwszych dwóch naborów do tego funduszu.
