Opis:
The article presents findings of Dutch and Belgian linguists concerning the rela-tions between the language of the Netherlands and its Flemish variety. First, the author provides characteristics of both ethnolects and of the social groups which use those. Subsequently, he analyses the existing lexical and pronunciation differences. In the final part, the author presents conclusions, different, as it turns out, for formal and colloquial language.

Opis:
This article offers a twofold overview of databases used in historical research. The first part discusses two models of databases – the elaborated data model and primary sources repositories – and offers examples of each. The second part focuses on a particular online repository of primary sources – Diplomata Belgica – not only presenting its features but also providing examples of its application in the context of prosopographical research on the Flemish Crusaders. One of the article’s main aims is to present the features and opportunities of database application in particular historical research – as well as the need for, advantages of, and problems related to such “digital” research, which will likely become indispensable within a couple of years. Another task at hand is to present the prosopographical potential of Diplomata Belgica, which allows for a broader and more detailed examination of primary sources. This presentation is done on the basis of several exemplary databases (the first part) and searches executed in Diplomata Belgica (the second part).

Badania nad malarstwem niderlandzkim w Polsce po 1945 roku.

This thesis considers the problem of research on Flemish painting by Polish art historians. The athor describes the history of collecting Flemish works of art conducted by Polish kings of the Jagiellonian dynasty, Vasa dynasty and Stanisław August Poniatowski. She also describes the scientific publications on specific Flemish artists f.ex. Rubens, van Dyck, Bruegel and the others. She writes about art exhibitions that were held in Poland just to promote Flemish art from Polish collections.A little space is devoted to a description of Flemish art from the Polish territory, mainly from Gdańsk.
Praca Badania nad malarstwem niderlandzkim w Polsce po 1945 roku stanowi próbę prześledzenia perspektyw i metod badawczych jakie polscy historycy sztuki powojennej generacji stosowali do analizowania malarstwa niderlandzkiego.Asumptem do prowadzenia tychże badań okazało się kolekcjonerstwo sztuki niderlandzkiej w Polsce rozwinięte już od czasów Jagiellonów, a szczególnie intensywne w okresie panowania dynastii Wazów.Poszczególne rozdziały pracy odnoszą się do wyszczególnionych w historiografii artystycznej kierunków i tendencji badań rozwijanych przez polskich badaczy.Odnoszą się one do prób syntetycznych ujęć dziejów sztuki niderlandzkiej, w tym rejestrowania inwentarza zbiorów malarstwa obcego w Polsce oraz badań poświęconych Rubensowi i malarzom jego kręgu, dalej opisują sposoby popularyzacji tego malarstwa, w tym opracowania monograficzne i wystawy, wreszcie odnoszą się do badań nad działalnością artystów niderlandzkich i niderlandyzującej sztuki w Polsce, szczególnie w Gdańsku.

Opis:
Belgium is a founding member of the European Union (EU). It is a trilingual federation, consisting of four different entities constituted on the basis of language. The linguistic groups within the Belgian population have had a long history of conflict. For many years, tensions between the French and Dutch speaking areas have been ameliorated through the principle of “territoriality.” The application of this principle resulted in the division of the country into three areas: the Flemish Region (the Dutchspeaking region in the north), the Walloon Region (the French speaking region in the south) and the Brussels-Capital Region (officially bilingual but predominantly francophone). In each of those areas, only one language has official status, and the speakers of other national languages residing there have no linguistic rights. The principle of territoriality has resolved some tensions between the linguistic groups by guaranteeing linguistic rights within geographic boundaries, yet it has not fully resolved them. The Belgian experience in dealing with a multicultural and multi-linguistic polity will clearly provide valuable insights for other national groups wrestling with the ever-increasing heterogeneity among their linguistic populations. More important in the short term, however, is the ongoing struggle for dominance between French and Dutch speakers within Belgium. The specificity of the Belgian federal system is also reflected in the executive power.
Artykuł koncentruje się na władzy wykonawczej w Belgii na poziomie federalnym. Omówione są tu organy egzekutywy, ich miejsce w rozwiązaniach ustrojowych oraz faktyczna rola w sprawowaniu władzy. Wyjaśniony został proces formowania rządu i trudności w sformowaniu gabinetu koalicyjnego. Wskazano także źródła konstytucjonalizmu belgijskiego i konstytucyjne podstawy ustroju Belgii.
