Opis:
In this paper, the robust H∞ control problem is considered for uncertain neutral systems with discrete and distributed tirne delays. Some sumcient conditions on H∞, robust performance analysis are obtained in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs) by using a descriptor model transformation of the system and by applying Park's inequality for bounding cross terms. Based on these conditions the state-feedback H∞ controller is designed. Numerical examples are included to illustrate the proposed method.

Opis:
Considering the importance of gear systems as one of the important vibration and noise sources in power transmission systems, an active control for suppressing gear vibration is presented in this paper. A gear bearing model is developed and used to design an active control gear-bearing system. Two possible configurations of control system are designed based on active bearing and active gear-shaft torsional coupling to control and reduce the disturbance affecting system components. The controller for computing the actuation force is designed by using the H-infinity control approach. Simulation results indicate that the desired controller can efficiently be used for vibration control of gear bearing systems.

Opis:
The robust H∞ control problem is considered for a class of uncertain neutral system involving both state and control input time-varying delays. The uncertainties under consideration are nonlinear time-varying parameter perturbations. The methodology is based on the Lyapunov functional combined with a unified LMI approach, and a new delay-dependent criterion is proposed to guarantee the stabilization and disturbance attenuation of systems. Moreover, a convex optimization approach is used to solve the robust H∞ control disturbance attenuation problem. Finally, a numerical example is illustrated to show the validity of this paper. The simulation results reveal significant improvement over the recent results.

Opis:
The article proposes a nonlinear optimal control method for the dynamic model of a gas centrifugal compressor being actuated by a five-phase induction motor (5-phase IM). To achieve high torque and high power in the functioning of gas compressors, 5-phase IM appear to be advantageous in comparison to three-phase synchronous or asynchronous electric machines. The dynamic model of the integrated compression system, which comprises the gas compressor and the 5-phase IM, is first written in a nonlinear and multivariable state-space form. It is proven that the electrically driven gas-compression system is differentially flat. Next, this system is approximately linearised around a temporary operating point that is recomputed at each sampling interval. The linearisation is based on first-order Taylor series expansion and uses the computation of the Jacobian matrices of the state-space model of the integrated system. For the linearised state-space description of the compressor and 5-phase IM, a stabilising optimal (H-infinity) feedback controller is designed. This controller achieves a solution to the nonlinear optimal control problem of the compressor and 5-phase IM system under model uncertainty and external perturbations. The feedback gains of the controller are computed by solving an algebraic Riccati equation at each iteration of the control method. Lyapunov analysis is used to demonstrate global stability for the control loop. Additionally, the H-infinity Kalman filter is used as a robust state estimator, which allows for implementing sensorless control for the gas compression system.

Opis:
In this work, the problem of position regulation control is addressed for a 2DOF underactuated mechanical system with friction and backlash. For this purpose, a method combining sliding mode and H∞ control is developed. We prove that the application of the method to the nonlinear model considered results in an asymptotically stable equilibria set. Moreover, it is possible to achieve a sufficiently small and bounded steady-state position error even in the presence of disturbances by employing the proposed technique. That is, the developed controller is able to account not only for unmatched external perturbations and model discrepancies of the test rig considered, but also for matched bounded perturbations. The control methodology is presented from both the theoretical and experimental angles to demonstrate the good performance of the proposed controller.

Opis:
In this paper, we consider the design of interconnected H infinity feedback control systems with quantized signals. We assume that a decentralized dynamic output feedback has been designed for an interconnected continuous-time LTI system so that the closed-loop system is stable and a desired H infinity disturbance attenuation level is achieved, and that the subsystem measurement outputs are quantized before they are passed to the local controllers. We propose a local-output-dependent strategy for updating the parameters of the quantizers, so that the overall closed-loop system is asymptotically stable and achieves the same H infinity disturbance attenuation level. Both the pre-designed controllers and the parameters of the quantizers are constructed in a decentralized manner, depending on local measurement outputs.
