Therefore this artcle presents discussion on the applicability of entrepreneurial orientaton to imitators from the high-tech industries.

Opis:: Tematyką niniejszej pracy jest analiza sektora wysokich technologii i technologii cyfrowych w bankowości, prowadząca kolejno do wskazania perspektyw rozwoju sektora FinTech. Główną determinantą wpływającą na wybór tematu była popularyzacja wykorzystania technologii finansowych na skalę światową. Celem pracy jest przedstawienie istoty i stanu sektora FinTech, jako branży wysokiej techniki oraz określenie perspektyw rozwoju tego sektora w krajach Unii Europejskiej w latach 2021-2025. Praca opiera się na źródłach wtórnych w postaci artykułów, raportów i publikacji naukowych z obszaru wysokich technologii oraz branży FinTech. Analiza zagadnień wskazuje na znaczenie wykorzystania technologii cyfrowych oraz obrazuje stan sektora FinTech, pozwalając określić możliwe kierunki jego rozwoju. Dynamiczny wzrost transakcji na szczeblu międzynarodowym oraz potrzeba materializacji zabezpieczeń stanowią główną przesłankę do rozwoju prac nad innowacyjnymi produktami i usługami, oferowanymi przez branżę finansową.
The subject of this work is the analysis of the high technology and digital technology sector in banking, leading to the identification of the development prospects for the FinTech sector. The main determinant influencing the choice of the topic was the popularization of the use of financial technologies on a global scale. The aim of the work is to present the essence and condition of the FinTech sector as a high technology industry and to define the development prospects of this sector in the European Union countries in 2021-2025. The work is based on secondary sources in the firm of articles, reports and scientific publications in the area of high technologies and the FinTech industry. The analysis of issues shows the importance of using digital technologies and illustrates the state of the FinTech sector, allowing for the determination of possible directions of its development. The dynamic growth of transactions at the international level and the need to materialize collateral constitute the main premise for the development of work on innovative products and services offered by the financial industry.

Opis:: Celem pracy jest określenie wpływu odległości i typu relacji z konkurentem, dostawcą i odbiorcą na rodzaj podejmowanej działalności innowacyjnej przedsiębiorstw wysokiej techniki w Polsce. W pracy założono, że bliskie kontakty z konkurentem, dostawcą i odbiorcą funkcjonującym w niewielkiej odległości (lokalnie lub w regionie) sprzyjają podejmowaniu działalności innowacyjnej. Przeprowadzona analiza wykazała jednak, że współpraca z lokalnym lub regionalnym dostawcą i odbiorcą przyczynia się do zmniejszenia aktywności innowacyjnej, podczas gdy krajowy lub zagraniczny dostawca, odbiorca lub konkurent sprzyja jej podejmowaniu. Jednak największy pozytywny wpływ na stymulowanie aktywności innowacyjnej mają dostawcy, odbiorcy i konkurenci zagraniczni.
The aim of this study is to determine the impact of proximity and type of relationship with supplier, competitor and customer on innovation activity of high technology manufacturing industries in Poland. It is assumed that the innovation activity of HT manufacturing industries in Poland is stimulated by good relations with competitor, supplier and customer operating locally. The scope of the survey relates to innovation among high-technology manufacturing industries in Poland, concerns innovation at the firm level and takes into account the diffusion to the „new to the company”. This study shows that the cooperation with a local or regional supplier or customer decreases the innovation activity whereas the cooperation with national or foreign supplier, customer or competitor positively influences on innovation activity.

Opis:: The paper aims to identify the determinants of exports in high-technology sectors (high-tech, HT) of Visegrad countries (the Visegrad four, V4: Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary) and the core member states of the European Union (EU). Based on the augmented gravity model, we estimate the regressions on panel data of the bilateral export flows of the EU-15 and V4 with the rest of the world in 1999−2011, by employing the Poisson pseudo-maximum-likelihood (PPML) estimator. The comparison of the estimations of overall export flows with the estimates explicitly done for the high-tech sectors allows us to outline the main characteristics of the existing gap in high-tech export performances of the EU-15 and V4. Estimation results find that while for the EU-15, human capital accumulation is statistically significant and export flows increase with similarity in physical capital accumulation of the trade partner; for V4, instead of similarity, the difference in physical capital stock increases exports and human capital accumulation does not yield statistically significant effects.

Opis:: This article deals with the subject of the level of innovative development that is characteristic of Polish regions in comparison with other nations of the European Union. Among the main measures of innovation, the following factors were taken into account: patent activity, employment in the R&D sector, expenditure on R&D, and human resources for science and technology. Based on numerous studies indicating that this is an issue, an attempt has been made to measure the innovation gap in spatial and dynamic terms using a number of statistical tools. The innovation gap index, the innovation level change index and the patent advantage indicator were used as measures. Each of these methods takes into account certain measures of innovation (and their different approaches), which allows the problem to be comprehensively studied. Statistical data from the Eurostat, OECD and EPO databases for 2009–2017, which are related to the availability of data presented in regional innovation rankings, were used in the study. The results clearly show a disproportion in the development of Polish regions in relation to their European counterparts, but also in the direction of change over recent years. There are in addition symptoms of positive changes illustrated by detailed assessments of the indicators examined for selected Polish regions.

Opis:: This paper uses a panel cointegration model to analyse the long-term relationship between high-technology exports and economic growth in selected OECD countries in the period from 1989 to 2015. We used high-technology exports (current US$) as the dependent variable and the GDP growth rate, FDI (foreign direct investment), application of patents by residents, and gross capital formation % of GDP as explanatory variables. The export structure of countries is moving increasingly towards technology-intensive products such as ICT (information and communications technology), aerospace, computing and office equipment, electronics, chemical products, pharmaceuticals, and electrical machinery. The export structure has played an important role in the economic growth theories of many countries since the 1960s, as export growth has been associated with faster productivity and GDP growth. We aimed to find out the relationship between high-technology exports and the explanatory variables which we listed for 14 selected OECD countries (Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Israel, Korea, the Netherlands, Norway, Switzerland, Sweden, Turkey, the UK, and the USA). According to our empirical results, there is a long-term relationship between high-technology exports and economic growth in selected OECD countries. The empirical results show that an improvement in patent applications and foreign direct investment play a decisive role in upgrading selected OECD countries’ high-tech exports, while growth rate and investment play a negative role in enhancing these countries’ high-tech exports.

Źródłem danych, na podstawie których dokonano oceny były dokumentacje Podkarpackiego Ośrodka Badań Regionalnych Urzędu Statystycznego w Rzeszowie. W celu dokonania przeglądu zmian jakie zaszły w obręie sektora lotniczego Podkarpacia wybrano przedział czasowy od 2009 r. do 2014 r. Przeprowadzone badanie pozwoliły na wysunięcie kilku wniosków dotyczących rozwoju zaawansowanych technologii w Polsce podczas spowolnienia gospodarczego.
The main purpose of the study is identification and assessment of the Health Check of High－Tech Corporation in Poland. Aerospace industry of the Podkarpackie Voivodship was selected to carry out an analysis. Assessment was made on the basis of documentation of the Podkarpackie Regional Research Center of the Statistical Office in Rzeszow. In order to review of the changes in Aerospace industry of the Podkarpackie voivodship there was selected time frame from 2009 to2014. Research has permitted to conclude about development of High – Tech in Poland during economic downturn.
