Opis:: Od wielu lat zmiany zachodzące w społeczeństwie i gospodarce mają wyraźnie charakter globalny. Technologie informacyjno-telekomunikacyjne (ICT) przyczyniają się do tych zmian i znajdują odzwierciedlenie w oferowanych produktach oraz usługach. Przedsiębiorstwa sektora ICT szybko dostosowują się do nowych warunków i wymagań społeczeństwa informacyjnego, w którym przetwarzanie informacji z wykorzystaniem technologii informacyjno-telekomunikacyjnej stanowi istotną wartość ekonomiczną, społeczną i kulturową. Mimo prowadzonych badań i systematyzowania informacji na temat sektora ICT wciąż istnieje luka badawcza dotycząca jego znaczenia na arenie międzynarodowej. Powstaje zatem pytanie, jaki wpływ na zrównoważony rozwój ma występowanie klastrów sektora ICT w krajach Unii Europejskiej? Było to przesłanką podjęcia badań umożliwiających określenie stopnia znaczenia sektora w krajach UE. Punktem wyjścia rozważań było zdefiniowanie technologii informacyjno-komunikacyjnej i klastrów. Do oceny sektora wykorzystano: wskaźnik lokalizacji (LQ), wskaźnik specjalizacji (SI) oraz indeks klastra (CI). W wyniku przeprowadzonych badań wskazano czynniki decydujące o wzroście znaczenia sektora w krajach UE.
For many years, the changes taking place in society and the economy have clearly been global. Information and communication technologies (ICT) contribute to these changes and are reflected in the products and services offered. ICT companies are rapidly adapting to the new conditions and requirements of the information society, where information processing using information and telecommunications technology is an important economic, social and cultural value. Despite research and systematisation of information on the ICT sector, there is still a research gap concerning its international relevance. The question therefore arises: what impact does the presence of ICT clusters in the Countries of the European Union have on sustainable development? This was a prerequisite for conducting research to determine the importance of the sector in EU countries. The starting point of the deliberations was the definition of information and communication technologies and clusters. Location index (LQ), specialization index (SI) and cluster index (CI) were used to assess the sector. The research identified the factors determining the growth of the sector in the countries of the European Union.

Opis:: Celem opracowania jest analiza wskaźnika poziomu kosztów polskiego sektora ICT w latach 2008-2015. W części teoretycznej przedstawiono znaczenie sektora ICT dla wzrostu konkurencyjności gospodarki i problematykę związaną z analizą i klasyfikacją kosztów przedsiębiorstw. W części empirycznej przedstawiono analizę wskaźnika poziomu kosztów sektora ICT z lat 2008-2015. W oparciu o dane z roczników GUS dokonano porównań wartości wskaźnika poziomu kosztów uwzględniając: sektor ICT, produkcję ICT, usługi ICT, a także sektor produkcji i usług ogółem z analogicznym rozdzieleniem danych (produkcja i usługi ogółem, produkcja, usługi). Wyniki analizy wskazują na wzrostową tendencję analizowanego wskaźnika dla polskiego sektora ICT, która spowodowana jest coraz wyższymi wartościami wskaźnika w obszarze usług ICT.
The aim of the study is to analyze the indicator of costs level in the Polish ICT sector in the period 2008-2015. The theoretical part presents the importance of the ICT sector for improving of the economy competitiveness and the issues related to the analysis and classification of enterprises costs. The empirical part presents analysis of the costs index in the Polish ICT sector in 2008-2015. The analysis was based on data from the Central Statistical Office publications. The comparisons of the costs index values were carried out including: the ICT sector, the ICT production, the ICT services and the total production and services sector with the analogical distribution of data (total production and services, production, services). The results of the analysis indicate that the analyzed indicator in the Polish ICT sector is characterized by growing trend. It is caused by the ever higher indicator values in the field of the ICT services.

Opis:: Over the past decades, the intensive development of information and communication technologies (ICT) has prompted numerous studies assessing the relationship between ICT and economic growth. Initial doubts about the importance of the Internet for economic growth have recently been replaced by conclusions supporting the positive significance of this technological revolution. However, despite the abundant research conducted in recent years, the obtained outcomes do not allow for a consensus, particularly regarding the impact of specific types of ICT. This paper investigates the connection between Internet usage and economic growth. The estimation is based on a broad group of economies (88 countries) from 2006 to 2020 using data from the International Telecommunication Union database. The results suggest a statistically significant relationship between Internet usage and GDP growth.
Intensywny rozwój technologii informacyjno-komunikacyjnych (ICT) w ostatnich dziesięcioleciach zaowocował licznymi badaniami oceniającymi związek pomiędzy ICT a wzrostem gospodarczym. Początkowe wątpliwości co do znaczenia Internetu dla wzrostu gospodarczego zostały ostatnio zastąpione wnioskami potwierdzającymi pozytywne znaczenie tej rewolucji technologicznej. Jednak pomimo licznych badań prowadzonych w ostatnich latach, uzyskane wyniki nie pozwalają na osiągnięcie konsensusu, szczególnie w zakresie wpływu poszczególnych technologii ICT. W artykule zbadano związek pomiędzy korzystaniem z Internetu a wzrostem gospodarczym. Szacunek opiera się na szerokiej grupie gospodarek (88 krajów) od 2006 do 2020 r. z wykorzystaniem danych z bazy Międzynarodowego Związku Telekomunikacyjnego. Wyniki sugerują istotną statystycznie zależność pomiędzy korzystaniem z Internetu a wzrostem PKB.

Opis:: European SMEs can hardly access optimized transport solutions and normally generate a scattered demand producing a large number of transport means. The paper shows how the approach taken within the KASSETTS project based on proposed operational scenar-ios, developed in the Central Europe and ena-bled Central Europe manufacturing SMEs to jointly and effectively participate in the dynamic construction of efficient transnational transport solutions by means of knowledge and intelli-gent ICT services provided by the EU wide network of intermediary organizations acting as logistic coordinators. The proposed concept proved to have a positive impact on the effec-tiveness of transport routes.
Europejskie małe i średnie przed-siębiorstwa mają niewielki dostęp do zoptyma-lizowanych rozwiązań transportowych. Niniej-szy artykuł pokazuje w jaki sposób zapropono-wane scenariusze w ramach projektu KAS-SETTS rozwinęły się w Centralnej Europie i pozwoliły na dynamiczne tworzenie skutecz-nych rozwiązań w transporcie dla małych i średnich przedsiębiorstw za pomocą wiedzy, inteligentnych usług IT dostarczanych przez organizacje Unii Europejskiej, które funkcjonują jako koordynatorzy logistyki. Zaproponowana koncepcja okazała się mieć pozytywny wpływ na efektywność w działaniach transportowych.

Opis:: The dynamic growth of the ICT sector calls for continuous concern for learning and development on the part of ICT specialists. The ICT sector's traditional paternalistic relationships among employees and employers have been replaced in favor of more temporary, flexible, partner-oriented arrangements at a faster rate than in other sectors. This requires changes in the approach to employability, which not only has an impact on their potential for success, but primarily defines their chances of 'survival' in the unstable and demanding labor market. The presented empirical results of research demonstrate the relationships between certain individual predictors of employability level among ICT sector workers in Polish SMEs. The presented data are a fragment of final research conducted within the context of the multi-year mailto:Indic@tor program.

Opis:: There has been a large volume of published studies describing the attitudes of teachers and students towards ICT usage to study English; nevertheless, limited research has been conducted to examine the use of ICT in terms of frequency of use, purposes, perceptions, and expectations among EFL students. Thus, the purpose of the current study was to address this research problem. The research used a convenience sample of 149 English major students who were invited to respond to the questionnaire survey. The findings indicated that the participants spent more time using ICT for private purposes than for English learning purposes. Most of them showed their positive attitudes towards ICT use to study English and expected that ICT should be used more frequently in the classroom in order to maximize language learning and teaching. Gaining an understanding of the way the learners employ ICT for their non-educational purposes may help “shed light on how best to determine their educational uses” (Fujimoto, 2012, p.165). Pedagogical implications were also given in this current inquiry.

Opis:: This study examined the ICT integration used by student teachers from a public university during their teaching practices in four high schools in Indonesia. This qualitative inquiry with a case study approach focused on video-based observations and focus group discussions as techniques of data collection. We utilized random sampling for the video-based observation and purposive sampling for the focus group discussion with 60 participants in the discussion and 10 classes in the observation. We organized our analysis and discussion around the field facts and participants’ perceptions on the contexts whether or not the integration of ICT was carried out in their pre-teaching practices. Despite the fact that most participants who were student teachers informed that they had good competency levels and experience in the use of technology and believed that technology would have many benefits in improving their teaching performance, the findings of this study showed that they did not integrate ICT in their teaching practices. The major reason for this lack of technology use was the school condition. The findings can be a reference for the importance of a systematic and comprehensive development of method of the teaching practice in the 21st century to help the appropriate transition of student teachers, as they will become professional teachers in the future.

Opis:: Main goal of this paper is to draw more attention to the pervasiveness of technostress (TS) in the consulting domain. As TS tends to be perceived differently in terms of what it entails, this work has focused on researching, instead, the breadth of its relationship with the salient demographical variables: gender, age, organizational rank and family status in an under researched organizational setting. This makes for the first novel contribution of the paper. The interplay in question has been investigated from the quantitative point of view. Knowledge space has been built on the data obtained via a quantitative questionnaire. The research sample consisted of 702 consulting employees (417 men and 275 women), aged 18-65. Data analysis draw on the explanatory potential of ANOVA and stepwise regression models. Results reveal that female participants and employees older than 35, experience significantly more Techno-Complexity compared to other groups. No significant effect of family status on Techno-Complexity was found. Senior-rank employees experience more Techno-Overload and Techno-Invasion, compared to their co-workers in more junior positions. Our findings point out to the necessity of workplace-stress prevention solutions focusing specifically on gender, age and the seniority level of an employee. In addition, they provide important signposts for how such fast-paced organizations as consulting companies can revitalize their human resource management (HRM) practices to foster a healthy workplace environment conducive of workplace productivity and innovation.
Głównym celem niniejszego artykułu jest zwrócenie większej uwagi na wszechobecność technostresu w branży konsultingowej. Ponieważ technostres jest zwykle postrzegany w różny sposób pod względem tego, co się z nim wiąże, niniejsza praca koncentruje się na badaniu zakresu jego związku z istotnymi zmiennymi demograficznymi: płcią, wiekiem, rangą organizacyjną i statusem rodzinnym w niedostatecznie zbadanym środowisku organizacyjnym. Stanowi to pierwszy nowatorski wkład tego artykułu. Omawiana interakcja została zbadana z ilościowego punktu widzenia. Przestrzeń wiedzy została zbudowana na danych uzyskanych za pomocą kwestionariusza ilościowego. Próba badawcza składała się z 702 pracowników konsultingu (417 mężczyzn i 275 kobiet) w wieku 18-65 lat. W analizie danych wykorzystano potencjał wyjaśniający modeli ANOVA i regresji krokowej. Wyniki pokazują, że kobiety i pracownicy w wieku powyżej 35 lat doświadczają znacznie większej złożoności technologicznej w porównaniu z innymi grupami. Nie stwierdzono istotnego wpływu statusu rodzinnego na złożoność techniczną. Pracownicy wyższego szczebla doświadczają większego przeciążenia technologicznego i inwazji technologicznej w porównaniu do swoich współpracowników na niższych stanowiskach. Nasze wyniki wskazują na konieczność wprowadzenia rozwiązań zapobiegających stresowi w miejscu pracy, koncentrujących się w szczególności na płci, wieku i stażu pracy pracownika. Ponadto, dostarczają one ważnych wskazówek, w jaki sposób tak szybko rozwijające się organizacje, jak firmy konsultingowe, mogą zrewitalizować swoje praktyki zarządzania zasobami ludzkimi (HRM), aby wspierać zdrowe środowisko pracy sprzyjające produktywności i innowacyjności w miejscu pracy.

Opis:: Autorki przedstawiają syntetycznie oficjalny wizerunek stanu wykorzystania ICT w gospo-darce na podstawie badań i publikacji publicznych służb statystycznych (GUS), a w szczególności danych dotyczących pięciu technologii ICT stosowanych przez polskie przedsiębiorstwa. Niestety, publikowane mierniki mają znikomą użyteczność w kontekście rozpoznania prawdziwego poziomu wykorzystywania ICT w gospodarce, choć pogłębiona analiza ukazuje prawdziwe oblicze tego zjawiska. W odniesieniu do wyników ogólnopolskich badań GUS prezentowane są także wyniki pogłębionych badań własnych w przedsiębiorstwach przemysłowych województwa pomorskiego, które stanowią rozszerzenie diagnozy i wykazują wyraźnie, że wykorzystanie ICT w polskich przedsiębiorstwach jest dalekie od satysfakcjonującego.
The authors present synthetically an official image of the use of ICT in the economy on the basis of studies and publications of public statistical services (CSO – Central Statistical Office), and, in particular, data on the five ICT used by Polish enterprises. Unfortunately published measures are of low usefulness in the context of recognition of the true level of ICT use in the economy, although an in-depth analysis reveals a true face of this worrying phenomenon. With regard to the results of the nationwide survey of CSO the authors present the results of their own more detailed research conducted in industrial enterprises of Pomorskie Voivodeship, which are the extension of the diagnosis and show clearly that ICT use in Polish enterprises is far from satis-factory.

Opis:: The ageing society and the necessity to meet the needs (including transport ones) of elderly people are a challenge for an increasing number of countries, including the EU Member States and Poland. Different types of modern ICT solutions are being proposed as a way of improving the meeting of the needs of elderly people in order to prevent their social exclusion. The growing popularity of solutions and services that use information and communication technologies (mainly the Internet and mobile applications) can also be observed in transport services and is perceived as a means to better meet transport needs. The aim of the article is to examine the extent to which seniors use ICT solutions to meet their transport needs when, for example, obtaining access to a car or car ride. A literature review, statistical data analysis and results of primary survey studies carried out on a sample of U3A students were used. The results of the analysis do not allow generalization on the entire population of elderly people but point to some interesting conclusions. For instance, at least one of the considered solutions (e.g. sharing travel by car as a driver or passenger) was used by almost two-thirds of those that responded using the Internet. Also, the solutions given were rated rather positively by the respondents in terms of their usefulness and ease of use. Those findings, apart from indicating further directions of research, allow for a cautious statement that these types of solutions can actually serve to better meet the transport needs of seniors.
