Opis:
The report presents the evaluation results of educational projects implemented in 2022 by the Academy of Programming and Robotics (AP&R) operating at the non-governmental organization (NGO). The Academy conducts educational activities for children and youth, primarily from rural areas, usingthe STEAM model project method, with the substantive and didactic support of the University of Zielona Góra. The funding for teaching resources and class operations comes entirely from obtained grants, leading to evaluations by financing institutions, mainly local governments. The evaluation results show that the classes received high ratings, even though the concept of STEAM education remains relatively unfamiliar to both the Participants and Observers. Participants have a limited perception of the practical usefulness of interdisciplinary classes. In contrast, Observers highly appreciate the educational value of integrated education, particularly in the fields of technology, computer science, programming, mathematics, and physics. The implementation of the STEAM model is particularly successful in classes related to the construction and operation of Renewable Energy Sources (RES) installations. The collaboration between AP&R and the University has spanned over 5 years, providing valuable experience, and enabling the collection of conclusions and recommendations for continuous improvement of educational practices. These insights aim to enhance the effectiveness of the educational projects.

Opis:
The paper describes the outcomes of evaluating the Internet and electronic media abuse prevention program conducted among 3rd-grade primary students. The literature review shows that a significant group of children and youth abuse ICT. The overuse of modern communication technologies may lead to a decrement in social functioning, psychological wellbeing and educational achievements. The risk of smartphone overuse is higher among youngsters; therefore, prevention programs should address this particular group. The evaluation was designed in a quasi-experimental scheme. Two measurements were conducted on a sample of 1207 students. Wilcoxon test indicates the significant increment in knowledge about communication rules and relationships on the Internet, about the influence of ICT on health and safety and emotional and difficult situation management skills, which were treated as securing factors. Moreover, a significant increment of the monitoring activities among parent was observed.

Opis:
This study investigates K-12 teachers’ ICT competence levels, the differences in teachers’ ICT competences based on their demographic characteristics, and factors that have an impact on their ICT competences. The data were collected from 1,429 K-12 teachers by means of a questionnaire. The findings of the study indicate that the majority of the participants do not perceive themselves as competent in basic and advanced ICT. Gender, prior preservice education ICT courses, and computer ownership are significantly related to the perceived ICT competences of K-12 teachers. Personal interest, possession of a home computer, and family and friends were rated as the most influential factors in acquiring ICT competences.
