Opis:: In this paper, development trends of information systems, information systems technology and enterprise information management were analyzed in the context of Industry 4.0 tools. In the first part (par. 1–2), fundamental definitions referred to the subject were presented as well as historic background of Integrated Management Information Systems. In the second part (par. 3), evolution and trends in ERP class systems, electronic economy tools and Product Lifecycle Management software were described. In the third part (par. 4–5), observed trends in information systems technology, in relation to Industry 4.0 tools, were discussed including manufacturing resources, production objects and novel management strategies approach. Many conclusions were related with actual manufacturing practices observed by the authors.

Opis:: W artykule wskazano, że systemy informacyjne (SI) są jednym z kluczowych czynników budowania przewagi konkurencyjnej każdej organizacji. Ze względu na fakt, że niemalże wszystkie organizacje nimi dysponują, to niezawodność SI zyskuje na znaczeniu, stając się istotnym czynnikiem budowania tej przewagi. W pierwszej części artykułu opisano model sukcesu SI DeLone’a i McLeana, analizując jego elementy i wskazując na istotne z punktu widzenia niezawodności powiązania między nimi. Następnie określono, jak rozumiana jest niezawodność SI i wykazano, że jest ona jednym z czynników niezbędnych do zaistnienia sukcesu SI. Na podstawie typologii zawodności SI wykazano bezpośredni związek tego pojęcia ze wszystkimi czynnikami występującymi w modelu sukcesu SI. Na tej podstawie zaproponowano model niezawodności SI oraz zestawienie 4 typowych obszarów niezawodności SI, które powinny podlegać analizie w każdej organizacji chcącej zbudować lub utrzymać przewagę konkurencyjną z wykorzystaniem istniejących w organizacji SI.
The article indicates that information systems (IS) are one of the key drivers of competitive advantage in any organization. Due to the fact that almost all organizations have them, the reliability of the SI is gaining importance, becoming a factor in building this advantage. The first part of the article describes a DeLone and McLean SI success model, analyzing its elements and connections between them, and pointing to their importance from the SI reliability point of view. Subsequently, SI reliability is defined and it is demonstrated that the reliability is one of the factors necessary for the existence of the IS success. Based on the typology of the IS unreliability, a direct relation between this concept and all the factors existing in the IS success model is identified. On this basis, IS reliability model is presented. It is also underlined that factors from this model should be analyzed in any organization wanting to build a competitive advantage using IS existing in organization.

Opis:: Przedstawiono pojęcie niezawodności systemów informacyjnych (SI) w organizacji. Niezawodność ta wpływa na zdolność rozwijania potencjału organizacji (zwłaszcza tego związanego z wykorzystaniem SI). W oparciu o teoretyczny model niezawodności SI w organizacji opracowany przez autorkę zaproponowano definicję pojęcia. Zweryfikowano model za pomocą badań empirycznych przeprowadzonych w 400 organizacjach działających w Polsce.
The notion of information systems (IS) reliability in organization is discussed in the paper. Nowadays, when almost every organization operates using some kind of IS, its reliability seems to be one of the key factors influencing organization’s potential to develop. Definition of IS reliability in organization is proposed based on theoretical model of IS reliability in organization developed by the author. The model is verified using the empirical research based on statistical analysis of factors building IS reliability in organizations operating in Poland. The analysis is based on survey conducted among 400 organizations from Poland.

Opis:: An excessively high level of information asymmetry between the supplier and the client occurring during the whole life cycle of an MIS is an important factor influencing the success of a project. The methods chosen to minimise information asymmetry in IT projects constitute an important research area which can impact their successful outcome. The aim of this article is to present research results on the use of Agile Methodology as a tool for minimising information asymmetry as part of an IT project completion consisting in a DMS system implementation with the use of outsourcing. The article may be interesting both for theoreticians of business informatics and for practitioners specializing in IT project implementation.
