Opis:: In this paper, a novel technique is created to enable the extension of the single Laplace transform method (SLTM) to solve nonlinear ordinary differential equations (ODEs) is presented. The main parts of the recommended technique are the Adomian polynomials. By developing several theorems, which include the Laplace transformation of nonlinear expressions, the Adomian polynomials are made possible. Several famous nonlinear equations including the Blasius equation, the Poisson Boltzmann equation, and numerous extra problems relating nonlinearities of many types such as exponential and sinusoidal are resolved for description. As it was revealed in the specified equations, and problems, our technique is conceptually and computationally simple. Some nonlinear examples are taken from the literature for checking the validation and convergence of the proposed technique. The suggested method is methodical, precise, then restricted to integration.

Opis:: An analytical Study of double diffusive MHD flow of a chemically reacting alumina nanofluid past an infinite flat plate is made. Laplace transform method is employed to determine the solution of the governing equation and its analysis showed that increase in both Reynolds number and Prandtl number bring about an increase in the rate of heat transfer coefficient. Skin friction is shown to reduce as the Reynolds number increases. Increase in Reynolds number and Schmidt number, increases the mass transfer coefficient of alumina nanofluid. Generally, comparison is made with other work and an appreciable trend is observed.

Opis:: The boundary element method (BEM) is applied to analysis of statically and dynamically loaded plates with branched and intersecting cracks. The numerical solution is obtained by discretization of external boundaries and crack surfaces using quadratic three-node boundary elements. The problem of coincident crack boundaries is solved by the dual BEM in which for nodes on crack surfaces simultaneously the displacement and the traction boundary integral equations are applied. The dynamic problem is solved by using the Laplace transform method and the solution in the time domain is computed by the Durbin numerical inversion method. The Laplace transform method gives very stable and accurate results and requires small computer memory. Static stress intensity factors (SIF) are computed by the path independent J-integral and dynamic SIF by the crack opening displacement (COD) method. Numerical examples of a branched crack in a rectangular plate and a star-shaped crack in a square plate are presented. Static SIF are compared with available results presented in literature showing good agreement. The maximum dynamic SIF are approximately two times larger than the corresponding static SIF. The influences of angles between branches of the crack and dimensions of the plate for the star-shaped crack on dynamic SIF are analyzed.
Metodę elementów brzegowych (MEB) zastosowano do analizy obciążonych statycznie i dynamicznie tarcz z pęknięciami rozgałęzionymi i przecinającymi się. Rozwiązanie numeryczne otrzymano w wyniku dyskretyzacji brzegów zewnętrznych tarczy i krawędzi pęknięć z zastosowaniem kwadratowych trójwęzłowych elementów brzegowych. Zastosowano sformułowanie duale MEB do analizy pokrywających się krawędzi pęknięcia, w którym stosuje się jednocześnie dla węzłów pęknięcia brzegowe równanie całkowe przemieszczeń i sił powierzchniowych. Zagadnienie dynamiczne analizowano metodą transformacji Laplace’a, a rozwiązanie w dziedzinie czasu wyznaczono metodą numerycznej transformacji odwrotnej Durbina. Metoda transformacji Laplace’a pozwala na wyznaczenie stabilnego i dokładnego rozwiązania i wymaga małej pamięci komputerowej. Statyczne współczynniki intensywności naprężeń (WIN) obliczono za pomocą J-całki niezależnej od konturu całkowania, a dynamiczne WIN na podstawie rozwarcia krawędzi pęknięcia. Przedstawiono przykłady numeryczne rozgałęzionego pęknięcia w tarczy prostokątnej i pęknięcia gwiaździstego w tarczy kwadratowej. Statyczne WIN porównano z wynikami dostępnymi w literaturze, wykazując dobrą zgodność rozwiązań. Maksymalne wartości dynamicznych WIN są około dwukrotnie większe niż odpowiednie statyczne WIN. Badano wpływ kąta między pęknięciami rozgałęzionymi i wielkości tarczy z pęknięciem gwiaździstym na dynamiczne WIN.

Opis:: In this paper, we are putting forward the periodic solution of non-linear oscillators by means of variational iterative method (VIM) using Laplace transform. Here, we present a comparative study of the new technique based on Laplace transform and the previous tech-niques of maximum minimum approach (MMA) and amplitude frequency formulation (AFF) for the analytical results. For the non-linear oscillators, MMA, AFF and VIM by Laplace transform give the same analytical results. Comparison of analytical results of VIM by Laplace transform with numerical results by fourth-order Runge–Kutta (RK) method conforms the soundness of the method for solving non-linear oscillators as well as for the time and boundary conditions of the non-linear oscillators.

Opis:: In this paper we examined the efficiency of one of the methods for numerical inversion of the Laplace transform: the Gaver-Stehfest method to find a solution to a one-dimensional gas flow model with axial dispersion. The algorithm was used to determine values of the axial dispersion coefficients DL and Pèclet numbers Pe on the basis of the pulse tracer technique. The obtained results of Pèclet numbers indicate that the gas flow is neither plug fl ow nor perfect mixing under operation condition. Numerical results are provided to confirm the efficiency of the presented method. Calculations were performed with the use of the CAS program type (Maple®).

Opis:: This paper presents an analysis in terms of their accuracy of selected numerical methods for the inversion of the Laplace trans form. They were used to find solution of a gas flow model in real measuring system. The measurement unit, its application as well as its useful model were described in details in a work. We examined the Gaver-Stehfest method and the Honig and Hirdes method. The first one is based on combination of Gaver functionals. The second one is based on the Fourier series expansions. The results have confirmed the fact that the selected methods are suitable to solve analyzed problem, and showed that the algorithm developed by D. P. Gaver and H. Stehfest allows to obtain the best results of calculations. All calculations were using the computer algebra system Maple®. The presented algorithms have been implemented by the authors.

Opis:: The velocity potential of the fluid satisfies the Laplace equation with nonlocal boundary conditions on a free surface. This differential problem is transformed to an evolution equation in Fourier variables. The Fourier transform images of boundary functions are approximated by Picard's iterations and the method of lines on meshes related to roots of Hermite polynomials. Due to convolutions of sine and cosine functions the integral terms of Picard's iterations reveal unexpected instabilities for wave numbers in a neighborhood of zero.

Opis:: Laplace Transform is often used in solving the free vibration problems of structural beams. In existing research, there are two types of simplified models of continuous beam placement. The first is to regard the continuous beam as a single-span beam, the middle bearing of which is replaced by the bearing reaction force; the second is to divide the continuous beam into several simply supported beams, with the bending moment of the continuous beam at the middle bearing considered as the external force. Research shows that the second simplified model is incorrect, and the frequency equation derived from the first simplified model contains multiple expressions which might not be equivalent to each other. This paper specifies the application method of Laplace Transform in solving the free vibration problems of continuous beams, having great significance in the proper use of the transform method.
Struktury ciągłej wiązki są bardzo często spotykane w projektach budowlanych. Przykłady obejmują: mostki ciągłej wiązki, stopy budynków, rury do wymiany ciepła w wymiennikach ciepła oraz wrzeciona obrabiarki. Nieodłączną częścią projektowania struktur ciągłych wiązek jest dynamiczna charakterystyczna analiza konstrukcji jako podstawy projektu antywibracyjnego. W celu uzyskania dynamicznych charakterystycznych parametrów struktur ciągłych wiązek, uczeni z kraju i z zagranicy przyjęli w celu poszukiwania rozwiązań liczne metody, w tym metodę elementów skończonych, metodę sztywności dynamicznej oraz metodę transferu matrycy. Metoda analityczna, w której wykorzystywane jest przekształcenie Laplace’a, mająca na celu rozwiązanie problemu wolnych drgań ciągłych wiązek, jest preferowana przez wielu badaczy i szeroko stosowana do rozwiązywania takich problemów w wielu dziedzinach. Niemniej jednak, istnieją pewne błędy w stosowaniu przekształcenia Laplace’a. W związku z tym, w niniejszej pracy przeprowadzono badania i analizę dotyczące różnych metod stosowania przekształcenia Laplace’a. Ponadto, w niniejszym dokumencie wyjaśniono metodę prawidłowego zastosowania przekształcenia Laplace’a podczas rozwiązywania problemu wolnego drgania ciągłej wiązki.

Opis:: This paper presents equivalent impedance and operator admittance systems for fractional order elements. Presented models of fractional order elements of the type: sαL,sub>α and 1/sαCsub>α, (0 α 1) were obtained using the Laplace transform based on the expansion of the factor sign to an infinite fraction with varying degrees of accuracy – the continued fraction expansion method (CFE). Then circuit synthesis methods were applied. As a result, equivalent circuit diagrams of fractional order elements were obtained. The obtained equivalent schemes consist both of classical RLC elements, as well as active elements built based on operational amplifiers. Numerical experiments were conducted for the constructed models, presenting responses to selected input signals.
