Opis:
Homework as a didactic tool is highly useful for students because it makes them practice the acquired knowledge. Simultaneously, it provides the teachers a feedback how the students can understand discussed problems. In case a homework is processed and evaluated electronically, more data can be collected which gives the teacher wider spectrum of information. Solving problems in automated systems usually bring s the possibility of gaining the data attached to the solution process itself, which - when evaluated - brings information about this process. Such features give the teachers valuable information about students’ understanding the lecture topic, provide them with feedback information about laboriousness of a particular homework or test and its most time-consuming problems and tasks. They facilitate differentiation between the various reasons for failure of individual students, help to reveal the critical moments and the most difficult ideas of the task (for students) and thus enable teachers to arrive at conclusions which can help them to form the next steps in the teaching process. In this paper we present a wide range of information obtained from the data stored in one such system.
Zadania domowe odgrywaj ą niezwykle istotną rolę w procesie dydaktycznym, umożliwiając zrozumienie i ugruntowanie wykładanego materiału. W niniejszej pracy przedstawiono wyniki badań przeprowadzonych w Uniwersytecie Karola w Pradze (Republika Czeska).

Opis:
In this paper, I will report qualitative research findings on how undergraduate students at a small-sized university in Thailand perceive Facebook group usage in a writing class. The findings suggest that the Facebook group can be used as blended learning (a hybrid instructional model) and learning management system (posting announcements and comments relevant to the class and their writing assignments) for the students to learn with, not to learn from, as facilitated by the instructor. The reasons were that they positively viewed the Facebook group usage as a practical, trendy and beneficial teaching tool, which helped to motivate them to learn English virtually and enhance their positive attitudes towards learning the language. When they encounter virtual communication apprehension, the Facebook group usage appeared to be a booster neutralizing their positive attitudes towards virtual interactions. Such positive results may derive from the fact that the students grew up as digital natives and the Millennial Generation using Facebook, the prominent social network site, as parts of their daily life. Teachers of English, who may be seen as digital immigrants or digital immigrant accent, may need to consider use of learning technologies in their writing class.

Opis:
The aim of this study is to introduce the features of the learning management system (LMS) used in the online learning environment at Abant Izzet Baysal University (AIBU) and provide the number of users in and usage of the LMS. Distance education at AIBU in Turkey started in the fall semester of the academic year 2014-2015. Regarding all the conditions of the university and characteristics of both open source and commercial learning management systems (LMS), an LMS integrated with an online conference tool was purchased from a private company. The LMS has basic features such as the most well-known LMSs except social media tools like blogs, wikis, etc. Also, the LMS was used by 8798 students and 44 instructors for four courses in the spring semester. However, although all instructors created synchronous sessions on a weekly basis regularly, the percentage of students’ attendance to synchronous activities is 10.

This study seeks to analyze the students’ need, the conceptual model, and generate a living values-based digital learning resource model in Civic Education. The research and development design was adopted, with the subjects being junior high school students in Bandung City and West Bandung Regency, Indonesia. The students need living values-based digital learning resources in accordance with 21st century learning and skills. Conceptually, the model of living values-digital based learning resources is one that incorportaes living values and living values education principles into civic education learning materials through various platforms in the Moodle-based Learning Management System (LMS). The model product in the form of a Moodle-based LMS contains teaching materials, living values, media, discussion forums, assignment uploads, and evaluation for the civic education. The model is thought to develop student’s character.

Opis:
The article designs a method of eLearning courses which are customized with regard to the future professional lives of students. The method is based on the disaggregation of the branch of study to single semantic learning objects. Semantic learning objects are interconnected by prerequisites and they contain metadata about the importance of learning objects for mastering specific professions. At the beginning of his/her study each student takes a test to determine which profession could be potentially suitable for him/her and the individual's graduate profile is developed. According to the individual's graduate profile the Learning Management System (LMS) automatically generates a proposal for the optimal study path. For each student the semantic learning objects which are the most important regarding to his/her future profession are selected.

Opis:
Gamifikacja jako forma wzbudzania motywacji wewnętrznej poprzez wykorzystanie elementów zaczerpniętych z gier cieszy się coraz większym zainteresowaniem instytucji edukacyjnych i nauczycieli. Jednak pomimo iż wzrasta liczba dostępnych podręczników gamifikacji, to jej praktyczna implementacja nadal wymaga znaczących nakładów sił i środków. W niniejszym opracowaniu zaproponowano i skonkretyzowano wizję struktury funkcjonalnej takiego systemu.
Gamification, as a form of inducing intrinsic motivation by using elements characteristic for games, is gaining more and more interest in educational institutions and among teachers. Notwithstanding the increasing number of available gamification textbooks, its practical implementation still requires substantial effort on instructor’s behalf. Although the popular Learning Management Systems already provide modules allowing to include gamification elements within the courses, making use of them is labor-intensive, and the range of provided features is very limited. The solution is to use a Learning Management System not only having a wide range of gamification features embedded already at its design stage, but also suitable for easy use by course designers and teachers. This paper proposes a detailed vision of the functional structure of such a system.

Opis:
Since 2004 implementation of e-learning has been systematically and continuously encouraged and supported at Charles University (CU). Open source system Moodle was chosen as an optimal Learning Management System for creation and management of e-learning courses. Evaluation of the five-year experience with e-learning shows that the continuous support of a suitable environment for the management of e-learning courses leads to the development of spontaneous implementation of this approach into the teaching process. A positive impact of e-learning on teaching outcomes was demonstrated by a course focused on medical informatics.
