This article describes an analysis of management as the art of enterprise management in Ukraine's economy. Today, as Ukraine’s economy faces extremely difficult times, the labor market demands creative, energetic, skilled, and multifaceted managers more than ever. For those aiming to master management, it is crucial to follow the path of applying theoretical knowledge and practical skills in specific situations. This research delves into the intricate relationship between management theory and practice within the context of Ukraine's contemporary economic landscape. It examines the evolution of management principles in Ukraine, particularly focusing on the challenges and opportunities presented by the country's ongoing economic transformation. Research Objectives: To analyze the historical development of management thought and practice in Ukraine. To identify the key challenges and opportunities facing Ukrainian enterprises in the current economic climate. To explore the role of effective management in mitigating risks and seizing opportunities. To examine the impact of globalization and digitalization on Ukrainian enterprises and their management practices. Propose strategies for enhancing management effectiveness and fostering sustainable enterprise development in Ukraine. This research employs a mixed-methods approach, combining qualitative and quantitative research techniques. Qualitative methods, such as case studies and interviews, will be utilized to gain in-depth insights into the experiences of Ukrainian managers and entrepreneurs. Quantitative methods, including surveys and statistical analysis, will be employed to gather empirical data on management practices and their impact on enterprise performance. By understanding the nuances of management in Ukraine's dynamic economic environment, this research aims to empower Ukrainian enterprises to navigate challenges, capitalize on opportunities, and achieve sustainable growth.

The embedment of risk management in enterprise management system

Purpose. The purpose of this text is to diagnose the degree to which risk management is embedded in enterprise management system, and in particular to identify risk prevention activities taken in different management domains by enterprises listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange, representing the following three sectors: financial services, construction, and IT. Design/methodology/approach. The research was carried out using a triangulation of research methods. The following research methods were used: analysis of the content of source documentation generated by the analyzed enterprises, one-stage logical classification, exemplification, and comparative analysis. The research involved 107 enterprises listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange and representing the sectors of financial services, construction, and IT. Findings. The main conclusion resulting from the research is that risk management is firmly rooted in enterprise management systems, which manifests itself in the presence of measures taken against risk in various management domains, such as strategic, operational, financial, quality, human resources, project, investment, and innovation management. According to the obtained results, the enterprises under analysis the most often apply risk management measures in the areas of strategic management, operational management, and financial management. Originality/value. The main added value of the results of the conducted research is the presentation of the management domains in which risk prevention activities are located and the identification of the analyzed enterprises’ specific preventive measures that fall within different management domains and allow the perception of risk management as an integrator of all processes carried out in the enterprise.

As air traffic is continously growing and the number of potential hazards for safety is also rising, improvement of management systems is required to ensure an adequate level of safety. The management of change constitutes an important part of the safety management system (SMS) defined in Annex 19 to the Convention on International Civil Aviation. It is one of twelve elements of SMS found in the ‘Safety assurance’ component. The management of change put in place in an aviation organisation demonstrates the considerable development of an SMS. This process is essential for managing safety in an efficient way. The article reports on the state of implementation of the management of change in selected civil aviation organisations and also points out the difficulties related with carrying it out in everyday life. The paper focuses on managing changes of certified aerodromes and air navigation service providers. In the conclusions, tools are proposed that enable the reader to improve the process.

Diversity in the workplace which has been growing in recent years in Europe is not only a response to the ongoing demographic processes (aging of the developed countries and migration movements), but also is dictated by the on-going globalization and increasing diversity of consumer needs. The concept of diversity management is gaining more and more popularity in Poland. The number of companies undertaking diversity management activities is increasing, which is supposed to contribute to eliminating the phenomenon of discrimination in the workplace and building an organizational culture open to diverse employees. Enterprises should, therefore, manage diversity not only because discrimination is unethical and prohibited by law, but also because it can bring diverse benefits to the company. Differences between people affect how people behave, feel, act and how they are perceived. They also affect how people work. Taking them into account may allow the organization to use all the competencies and abilities of a team of employees, and thus obtain optimal results in both the quality and quantity of work. Also, public institutions promote diversity management, pointing to them as the desired norm of functioning of Polish enterprises. After all, with public organizations, which schools are, rests the responsibility for the future of every nation, because it is school that educates, communicates knowledge and prepares for life in the society of young people. That is why it is so important for school employees to fulfill their obligations as well as possible and be fully devoted to the needs of the profession. Due to the growing importance and timeliness of the analyzed issues, the aim of the article is to determine the significance and benefits of managing diversity in educational institutions, identify challenges and define the responsibility of managers in managing employees in a diverse work environment. The research method chosen by the authors is the analysis of the subject literature in the field of diversity management, as well as research carried out by various authors in the area of the discussed issue. The conclusions from the study led to the formulation of specific recommendations that may be useful for school principals and people interested in school management to improve the functioning of the diversity management system, and thus, to improve the efficiency of educational institutions.

Risk management is an activity which integrates recognition of risk, risk assessment, developing strategies to manage it, and mitigation of risk using managerial resources. Some traditional risk managements are focused on risks stemming from physical or legal causes (e.g. natural disasters or fires, accidents, death). Financial risk management, on the other hand, focuses on risks that can be managed using traded financial instruments. Objective of risk management is to reduce different risks related to a pre-selected domain to an acceptable. It may refer to numerous types of threats caused by environment, technology, humans, organizations and politics. The paper describes the different steps in the risk management process which methods are used in the different steps, and provides some examples for risk and safety management.

Data collected through an online survey and through a number of detailed company assessments throw light on the relative strengths and weaknesses of different elements of Knowledge Management (KM) frameworks as applied globally. The online survey –a quick self-administered test, shows the strongest elements within the framework to be Technology and Behaviors and Culture. The weakest elements are KM Governance and KM Roles. The assessment – a detailed diagnostic process based on in-depth interviews, shows the strongest elements within the framework to be Technology and the Discussion of Knowledge. The weakest elements are KM Governance and KM Roles. A comparison of the results from the two sources is reassuringly close. More data may allow a more detailed analysis. Preliminary results suggest that national culture may influence the development of Knowledge Management Frameworks, with a correlation between strong Individuality and weak KM Governance and Roles.
