    Walt Disney created many memorable animated and live-action characters that will always be associated with the Disney name. Without Mickey and Disneyland, the entertainment industry would not be where it is today. Many people might think of Walt Disney as one of the luckiest guys in the world with the greatest life, but his story is anything but great by far. Walt worked very hard for what he has accomplished nothing came to him easy, the Disney Company was forced into bankruptcy many times, he did everything he could to fulfill his childhood dreams, and to become successful. He did not let anything get to him and he did not let anything interfere with what he wanted. Walt Disney was a creative, imaginative, and visual person, who created a billion dollar empire and made a magical world for all ages to enjoy. He revolutionized the entertainment industry. Other legendary filmmakers have come and gone, but Walt Disney to this day remains one of the most important and honored producers and animators of 20th-century. This thesis illustrates Walt Disney’s journey. From the day he was born to his death and his legacy and impact on American culture.
    Walt Disney stworzył wiele niezapomnianych animowanych i żywych postaci, które zawsze będą związane z nazwą Disney. Bez Myszki Miki i Disneylandu, przemysł rozrywkowy nie byłby w tym miejscu w którym jest dzisiaj. Wiele osób może pomyśleć, o Walt Disney jako jednym z najszczęśliwszych facetów na świecie z doskonałym życiem, ale jego historia wcale nie jest taka wspaniała. Walt bardzo ciężko pracował na to, aby móc osiągnąć swoje cele, nic nie przyszło mu z łatwością, jego firma (The Disney Company) została zmuszona do bankructwa wiele razy, robił wszystko, co mógł, aby spełnić swoje marzenia z dzieciństwa, i odnieść sukces. Nie pozwolił, by cokolwiek mu w tym przeszkodziło. Walt Disney był kreatywny, pomysłowy oraz bardzo wizualnym człowiekiem, który stworzył imperium warte dzisiaj miliard dolarów. Stworzył magiczny świat dla wszystkich grup wiekowych. Zrewolucjonizował przemysł rozrywkowy. Inni legendarni filmowcy pojawiali się i znikali ale Walt Disney do dzisiejszego dnia pozostaje jednym z najważniejszych inajbardziej utytułowanych producentów i animatorów dwudziestego wieku. Praca ta ilustruje podróż Walta Disneya. Od dnia, w którym urodził się aż po jego śmierć, jego dziedzictwo oraz jego wpływ na kulturę amerykańską.

    Opis:
    The story of Heliodorus' defeat in 2 Macc depicts God's extraordinary victory over His enemies. The defeat of Heliodorus and his troops described as a personal work of God is an event which happened without any direct human intervention. The present article analyzes this issue in light of ancient heroes' fights with a deity. These heroes paid the penalty not so much as a consequence of their fight, but because of their revelation of a supernatural power. The juxtaposition of many ancient sources, in which we find both the fights of heroes against gods and 'crime and punishment' themes, reveals the conventionality of literary forms used by hagiographers. Pseudo-Philo's LAB is one of the works in which this tradition is present. The story about Mica's idolatrous sanctuary contains some threads which are analogous to 2 Macc, and can be examined from two perspectives. The fi rst one concerns a detailed description of punishment, whereas the second one focuses on an ironic dimension of the story. The analysis proposed in this research presents the composition of 2 Macc 3 as a certain literary convention. At the same time, it connects the rules of interpretation of this text with those relating to historical legends about theomachoi.

    Opis:
    In modern architecture, slates, phyllites and schists are becoming more and more popular, and the example of Polish deposits of slates, phyllites and schists indicates that, in the last 10 years, the traditional method of using these rocks as raw material, e.g. for the production ofgranular surface, silty carriers of plant protection products or refractory material, has become gradually dominated by their use as dimension stones. The paper presents the first ranking of the decorative aspects, carried out for slates, phyllites and schists originating from active deposits: Orlowice, Jawornica, Dewon-Pokrzywna, Jeglowa and Jenków, located in the Sudetic Block and Fore-Sudetic Block (Lower Silesian Block, SW Poland). Evaluation of the decorative aspects of slates, phyllites and schists, which takes into account the colour, textural and structuralfeatures of the rock, its ability to be polished, and petrologic type, revealed that the primary and secondary petrographic types documented in these deposits have a high decorative value, mainly because of attractive colour and structural arrangement of mineral components. It should be noted that in the group of over 150 different varieties of colourful metamorphic slates on the stone market in the European Union, Polish slates, phyllites and schists are characterised by unique colours. Therefore, the high decorative value and unique colours characteristic of the Polish slates, phyllites and schists is their essential trait that conditions their use as decorative stone material with a wide range of applications.

    W trakcie realizacji tematu wytypowano medium błonotwórcze firmy Ferro, zdolne do wytwarzania trwałej powłoki po naświetlaniu promieniami UV, oraz pigmenty firmy Merck, umożliwiające uzyskanie powierzchni metalizujących. Doświadczalnie ustalono ilości medium i pigmentu niezbędnego do uzyskania lakieru o reologii zapewniającej jego drukowość. Lakiery, naniesione metodą sitodruku bezpośredniego na płytce szklanej i szkliwionej płytce ceramicznej, naświetlano promieniami UV w celu utwardzenia powierzchni, określając czas niezbędny do utwardzenia powłoki lakieru. Wydrukowane i utwardzone powierzchnie lakieru poddano ocenie wizualnej pod kątem jednorodności powierzchni, gładkości, siły krycia i efektu metalizującego. Wykonano badania odporności chemicznej i twardości utrwalonej powłoki oraz badania starzeniowe nieutwardzonych lakierów.
    For the purpose of the research we selected a medium by Ferro able to form durable coatings after UV curing, and Merck pigments giving metal effect to surfaces. By means of experiments the correct amounts/of the medium and the pigments, required to obtain varnish with rheological properties ensuring its printability. After screen printing onto a glass plate or a glazed ceramic tile the varnishes were exposed to UV rays in order to harden the surface thus establishing the time necessary to harden the varnish coating. Next the printed and hardened surfaces were examined visually with regard to their surface homogeneity, smoothness, hiding power and metal effect quality. Aging tests and chemical resistance tests of the UV cured surfaces were also carried out.
