The following thesis shows the figure of a priest as a repository of traditional values stored inside Polish symbolic universum. Featured figures of priests represent three possible interpretations of this phenomenon: Priest Piotr originates from Mickiewicz's profethic tradition, Priest Robak is an example of a priest-emissary involved in politics and military combat and Priest Marek is a literary transformation of historical figure, Marek Jandołowicz, the spiritual father of The Bar Confederation.

W artykule dokonano analizy liturgicznych tekstów mszalnych ze święta Jezusa Chrystusa Najwyższego i Wiecznego Kapłana. W pierwszej części wspomniano formularze mszy wotywnych o Najświętszym Sercu Pana Jezusa i wskazano na motywy ustanowienia święta Jezusa Chrystusa Najwyższego i Wiecznego Kapłana, które jest obchodzone w czwartek po uroczystości Zesłania Ducha Świętego. Teologię danego święta ukazują przede wszystkim modlitwy prezydencjalne, czyli: kolekta, modlitwa nad darami, modlitwa po Komunii oraz antyfony na wejście i na Komunię. Do tych modlitw należałoby dodać prefację, ale święto to, nie posiada własnej prefacji. Ramy artykułu nie pozwoliły także dokonać egzegezy perykop biblijnych czytanych w święto Jezusa Chrystusa Najwyższego i Wiecznego Kapłana. Główne treści teologiczne święta sprowadzają się do ukazania Chrystusa jako Wiecznego i Najwyższego Kapłana, będącego jedynym Pośrednikiem między Bogiem i ludźmi, kapłaństwa ministerialnego pełnionego przez biskupów i prezbiterów oraz kapłaństwa wspólnego wiernych.
This article analyzes the missal texts of the feast of Jesus Christ the Priest. The first part desciribes the forms of votive masses dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and indicates the reasons for establishing the feast of Jesus Christ the Priest, which is celebrated on the first Thursday after Pentecost. The theology of this feast is presented primarily by the presidential prayers, that is to say: the Collect, the Prayer over the Offerings, the Prayer after Communion and antiphon for the Introit and Communion. A preface should be added to these prayers, but this feast has no preface. The framework of the article also prevented the exegesis of the biblical pericopes read on the feast of Jesus Christ the Priest. The main theological content of the holiday presents Christ as the Eternal and High Priest, who is the only Mediator between God and men. The issue of the ministerial priesthood of bishops and priests and the priesthood of all believers was also emphasized.

Opis:
The aim of the article is the issue of the media image of two priests, created for the needs of popular culture in biographical feature films. The first of them is the American priest Stuart Ignatius Long, portrayed in the film Father Stu. The second is the Polish priest Jan Kaczkowski, shown in the film Johnny. The films, due to the fact that they present people called to the priesthood, priests of the Catholic Church who devote themselves to religious activities, meet the criteria of religious cinema. The research issue was to determine whether the film productions about the mentioned priests are film hagiographies of clergy, confessional religious cinema or only loosely refer to the true biographies of priests. Priests, who struggled with their own handicap and illness for most of their lives, which they never hid from their faithful, did not hinder their pastoral ministry.

Biskup Jan Bernard Szlaga reprezentuje współczesną polską teologię biblijną. Problematyka sakramentologiczna, także temat sakramentu kapłaństwa, jest bardzo ważna w jego nauczaniu. W swoim przepowiadaniu formułuje program aktywizacji życia dla kapłanów. Zwraca uwagę na konieczność konstytuowania silnych relacji między Bogiem a kapłanem, także miedzy kapłanem a człowiekiem. Dla tworzenia i pogłębiania tych relacji kapłan musi być człowiekiem modlitwy i wiedzy. Istnienie tych dwóch relacji jest warunkiem zbierania dobrych owoców kapłańskiej pracy, która się wyraża przez szafowanie sakramentów, głoszenie Słowa Bożego i świadectwo jego życia.
Jan Bernard Szlaga (bishop) represents Polish biblical theology. Problems connected with sacraments, especially with sacrament of Priesthood, are very important in his teaching. In his predication he presents the program of animation of priests’ life. He pays attention to necessity of strong relations not only between God and priest but also between priest and people. Priest must be deep‑ rooted in prayer and knowledge in order to create these relations strong and develop them continuously. These two relations are necessary condition of fruitful priest’s mission which is ministry of sacraments, predication of God’s Word and testimony of life.

A che cosa serve il sacerdozio all’interno di una società e in che cosa consiste il suo vero significato e la funzione? Il sacerdozio e i sacerdoti erano sempre uguali o si dovrebbe piuttosto parlare di una evoluzione di tale istituzione religiosa? Per poter rispondere a queste e ad altre domande faremo un percorso di quattro tappe. Cominceremo dalle religioni che si chiamano naturali, poi si fermeremo un po’ per domandarsi che cosa era il sacerdozio dell’Antico Testamento, quando è nato e quale era il suo ruolo. Poi passeremo al sacerdozio della nuova alleanza per verificare che cosa è cambiato al riguardo con la venuta di Cristo. Infine, prenderemo in considerazione l’evoluzione del sacerdozio dal tempo di Gesù fino ad oggi per vedere fino a che punto la chiesa è riuscita a rimanere fedele al quadro ideale del sacerdozio presente nel Nuovo Testamento.

Jan Długosz in his cards made a presentation of Annales…fifteenth century priest and reformer – Jan Kapistran. My purpose was to show the characteristic this person, something valued by chronicle writers. Długosz used different methods, to convince the reader about theconcepts of hero sainthood, for example descriptions such as: famous, reverend, smart-which come from the catalog, which were used by the author many times, symbolical, numbers – three, forty, a hundred, which enforce belief, that next to Jan amazing things are happening. Miracle making, prediction, healing, gift of tiers most appeared in this source biography. Comparing the preacher to St. Augustine strengthened the belief in the sanctity of the hero.

Wills belong to the most valuable sources associated with the Old Polish funeral ceremony, from this for making a will all adult inhabitants of the old Republic of Poland were also obliged irrespective of the state, the sex and the function performed in the society (secular or clerical). This document mainly included the regulations concerning the funeral, property records, and also list of the liability and debts of the testator. Moreover in the will we can find piece of information about social relations and the attitude of the deceased to family, relatives, friends, neighbors, servants, or also lieges. According to the Canon Law clergymen the biggest and also the most valuable part of personal assets left to their church and the parish which they ordered. The dying priest also handed the considerable part of belongings over – for one's close family, journeymen and servants. Amongst written objects we can mention – devotional items, furniture, clothes, the underwear, the crockery, everyday articles, the livestock, or also farm tools. Objects mentioned in the will are attesting not only to the affluence of the testator, but also let get to know and understand determinants a daily presence of those people, as well as their emotions and mentality.
