Opis:: Celem artykułu jest analiza działań podejmowanych przez Dzienne Domy Senior+ oraz Kluby Senior+, związanych z organizacją aktywności dla podopiecznych. Artykuł opiera się na przeglądzie literatury oraz wynikach badań ilościowych przeprowadzonych wśród dyrektorów placówek Senior+ na terenie Polski. W badaniach zostały uwzględnione takie aspekty, jak formy i rodzaje aktywności turystycznej preferowane przez seniorów, korzyści płynące z udziału w turystyce, a także sposoby organizacji wyjazdów oraz ich finansowania. Analiza uzyskanych wyników sugeruje, iż ośrodki Senior+ organizują aktywności turystyczne dla podopiecznych, pomimo napotykanych ograniczeń finansowych. Oczywistą rekomendacją wynikającą z badania jest zwiększenie środków przeznaczonych na aktywności turystyczne w Dziennych Domach Opieki i Klubach Senior+. Warto jednak również zwrócić uwagę na potrzebę kształcenia kadr ośrodków w zakresie organizacji turystyki dla seniorów oraz tworzenia przystępnych materiałów szkoleniowych dla osób zajmujących się organizacją turystyki dla osób starszych i z niepełnosprawnościami w języku polskim.
The aim of the article is to analyze the activities undertaken by Senior+ Day Homes and Senior+ Clubs related to the organization of activities for their residents. The article is based on a literature review and the results of quantitative research conducted among directors of Senior+ facilities in Poland. The research took into account aspects such as the forms and types of tourist activities preferred by seniors, the benefits of participating in tourism, as well as methods of organizing trips and their financing. The analysis of the results suggests that Senior+ centers organize tourist activities for their residents, despite the financial constraints they face. An obvious recommendation resulting from the study is to increase the funds allocated for tourist activities in Day Care Homes and Senior+ Clubs. However, it is also worth paying attention to the need to educate the staff of centers in the field of organizing tourism for seniors and to create accessible training materials for people involved in organizing tourism for the elderly and people with disabilities in Polish.

Opis:: Celem artykułu jest prezentacja programu Senior+, który umożliwia rozwój i wzmocnienie aktywności u osób starszych, na przykładzie działalności Domu Seniora+ w Jarosławiu. W artykule autorka skoncentrowała uwagę na założeniach programu. Obecnie kładzie się duży nacisk na zachowanie sprawności intelektualnej, psychicznej i fizycznej seniora, m.in. aby zapobiec wykluczeniu społecznemu. Dlatego też, interesujące dla czytelnika mogą okazać się przedstawione formy aktywnego spędzania czasu przez uczestników programu, a także ich opinie na temat uczestnictwa w programie Senior+.
The purpose of this study was to present the special programme Senior+, which helps to improve the self-development and strength in group of older people, who are the members of that programme in Senior Citizen’s home in Jarosław. The author of the thesis focused on the assumptions of the programme. Nowadays, special attention is paid to keep Seniors in good intellectual, mental and physical health, mainly to avoid social exclusion. Therefore, it may be interesting for the reader to read the article about the forms of leisure activities of programme participants, as well as to meet with their opinions about the Senior+ Programme.

Opis:: Polacy są starzejącym się społeczeństwem. Dlatego ważne jest stworzenie takiego systemu wsparcia, który zapewni seniorom aktywność społeczną, a dzięki niej również sprawność. W realizacji tego zamierzania miał pomóc program rządowy prowadzony w jednostkach samorządu terytorialnego za pośrednictwem dziennych domów i klubów „Senior+”. Cieszyły się dużą popularnością – w latach 2018–2020 liczba korzystających z nich osób wzrosła ponaddwukrotnie. Do programu przystąpiła jednak zaledwie co trzecia gmina. Przyczyniły się do tego wysokie koszty tworzenia placówek, zbyt małe dofinansowanie samorządów oraz konieczność zapewnienia przez gminy wkładu własnego.
Poles are an ageing society. That is why it is important to create such a support system that will provide seniors with social activity, and – consequently – seniors’ efficiency. The government programme “Senior+” was aimed to do so, and it was supposed to be implemented by local self-government units through day centres and clubs. Actually, the programme lowered the costs of establishing support centres for the eldest, simultaneously contributing to seniors’ increased social life activity. “Senior+” Day Centres and “Senior+” Clubs enriched the offer of social assistance addressed to the oldest persons. An unquestionable asset of the “Senior+” offer was a safe and senior- -friendly environment it provided. In the years 2018–2020, the number of persons who used this offer doubled, which is an evidence that they were indeed attractive, and this dynamics significantly exceeded that observed as for other forms of support. However, due to the high costs of establishment of such centres, due to relative low co-financing level, and due to the necessity to provide own financing, only one in three municipalities used the advantages of the “Senior+” Programme.

The article is about the contemporary agenda of the policy for senior citizens in Poland, concerning especially the long-term care issue. In the first part, there are key concepts of the article defined, such as “agenda in the public policy”, “policy for senior citizens” and long-term care issue”. In the second part, there are several policy documents and programmes for the aged examined, which provides the overview of the current elderly and long-term policy and its agenda. The analysis includes the governmental documents and programmes, as well as the activity (concerning long-term care for the elderly) of some other central institutions such as the Ombudsman and Supreme Audit Office and Office of Competition and Consumer Protection. The article ends with the conclusions.

Opis:: In the presented paper the author focuses upon the participation of the elderly persons in museums’ offer. The author sees senior citizens as a group of special needs and expectations for the museum institutions. The needs of elderly people are characterised with respect to the research conducted in English, Australian and Francophone museum environment. The results of the research concerning the presence of senior citizens at museums and the typology of their attitudes towards the museum expositions are being reviewed. One of the important considerations of the paper is to see the role of a senior citizen as a companion, mediator and initiator of visits in the museum in his/her family environment. The author recalls chosen examples of museum programs dedicated to elderly people. All these analyses are made in the light of social changes and demographic projections observed in contemporary Europe (already known as “Silver Europe”) as well as the main museum trends on the turn of the twenty first century, those oriented in their activity to diverse (also in age) audience. Pointing to elderly people as a potentially developmental group of recipients of museum offers, the author, (referring to Kennet Hudson) proposes the double metaphorical term for the museum open to the senior citizens needs – “the museum with a chair”.

Analizie zostały poddane wywiady przeprowadzone ze 107. krakowskimi firmami należącymi do programu. Badanie te wykazały, że na tym etapie funkcjonowania Ogólnopolska Karta Seniora, z punktu widzenia przedsiębiorców, nie realizuje założeń programu, przez co nie jest narzędziem integrującym seniorów z rynkiem.
The work focuses on exploring the issues of the situation of seniors and the silver economy in Poland, with particular emphasis on Krakow. The aim of the research was to answer the question: is the National Seniors Card a tool for integrating seniors into the market? Interviews with 107 Krakow companies belonging to the program were analyzed. These studies have shown that at this stage of operation, the National Senior Card does not implement the program assumptions and is therefore not a tool for integrating seniors with the market.

Opis:: Ze względu na postępujące zjawisko starzenia się społeczeństwa na świecie coraz większą popularność zyskują rozwiązania z zakresu tzw. budownictwa senioralnego. W swoim głównym założeniu skupiają się one na potrzebach i środowisku życia seniorów. Mówiąc o osobach starszych, należy zaznaczyć, że nie ma jednej, ustalonej granicy wieku określającej takie osoby. Często ze względu na długi okres przeżywania starości, stopień oraz sposób użytkowania przez nich przestrzeni ich potrzeby ulegają znacznym zmianom. Dlatego też przestrzeń, w jakiej spędzają czas, nie może być jednakowa i odgórnie zdefiniowana, lecz powinna jak najlepiej odpowiadać zdywersyfikowanym potrzebom jej użytkowników. Artykuł ma na celu analizę stosowanych w Polsce form kształtowania przestrzeni wewnętrznej mieszkań przeznaczonych dla osób starszych w zależności od stopnia ich niezależności bądź wymaganej pomocy. Porównane zostaną realizacje powstałe w ramach inicjatywy „Wzorcowe Mieszkanie Seniora” oraz inwestycji senioralnych Atlantis Senior w Opolu. Wyznaczone zostaną kluczowe elementy takiej przestrzeni oraz rozwiązania, które powinny być brane pod uwagę podczas tworzenia założeń funkcjonalno-przestrzennych powstałych z myślą o osobach starszych.
Due to the increasing aging of the world population, solutions in the field of so-called senior housing are becoming more and more popular. They focus mainly on the needs and living environment of seniors. There is no age limit for older people, as the degree and way in which they use space and their needs change. Therefore, the space in which they spend their time cannot be defined uniformly and from above, but should respond as closely as possible to the diversified needs of users. The aim of this article is to analyse the forms of interior design applied in Poland in relation to the level of independence and support required. The projects developed under the “Sample Senior Housing” initiative and the senior investments of Atlantis Senior Developer in Opole are compared. It identifies the key elements of such a space and the solutions that should be taken into account when developing functional and spatial assumptions for older people.

Opis:: This article traces some of the major achievements of a local Taiwanese initiative – the Active Ageing Learning movement, which provides seniors with greater opportunity to engage in learning in later life, whether for expressive or vocational reasons. Taiwan has faced considerable increases in the numbers of older people proportionately in the general population as it moves from an “aged society” to a “super-aged society”. This article’s purpose is to provide a historical account of developments and challenges in senior learning as an example of an East Asian nation’s efforts to move away from social welfare paternalism to older citizens as active educative agents in a mainly post-work environment. Data were derived from a combination of document analysis of policy documents and research located within professional practice. The pathway towards a more sustainable learning society in which seniors play an important role has been met with resistance and has faced several challenges. In addition to analysing achievements, this article investigates these challenges and provides suggestions for greater clarity and integration of learning opportunities for elders in Taiwan. The article concludes that both challenges and successes need acknowledgment. As a major recommendation, in order to meet the demands of a super-aged society, Taiwan can profit from planning and implementing regional centres as sites of learning located conceptually and physically between top-down government-driven directives and more democratic bottom-up community-based initiatives. To be successful, such centres will require substantive training and development and a collective push from the state, civil society members and private enterprise.
