Probabilistic critical path method PERT assumes beta distribution as probability distribution of task duration. PERT assumes that experts estimate parameters of task duration ("most likely time", "optimistic time", and "pessimistic time" for each activity) according to beta distribution nature. It's not always true. In the paper we assume that the durations of tasks are fuzzy sets. On the base of expert data we construct membership function of task duration. These fuzzy sets are used for project scheduling and for buffer size calculation. The illustrative example is presented

Opis:
Planning, or as aptly capture the authors of the study “preparation of activities”, is a vital aspect of project management. Most of the problems that occur during the project implementation phase origin from improper or even in a lack of the project planning process. It can be observed that organizations, especially in the conditions of risk and uncertainty, do not take steps to prepare their activities or take them in a very ineffective way. Therefore, undertaking research on the topic of project planning should be considered both important for the development of the discipline of management sciences as well as for providing practical guidance to companies that often undertake complex projects in a turbulent, changing environment. The reviewed research by prof. Michał Trocki, PhD. and prof. Paweł Wyrozębski, PhD. significantly extends the current knowledge of project management and can serve as a benchmark for very well-conducted research. [excerpt from prof. Seweryn Spałek’s, PhD. review]

In rapidly developing World, not only feasibility and technical implementation but also planning and cost management effort shaves an increasing importance. In this study, varied cost-planning construction procurement of housing development Project carried out by Prime Ministry Development (TOKİ), was investigated. For this purpose, work program was prepared based on the contractual time of Project which has quantity and estimation and by using network diagram. After that, alternative CPM planning was obtained by reducing different proportion of time. Reducing of time edited according to the basis of new technological applications. For each alternative Project plan, monthly manufacture and ration costs were calculated, base Project has been moved to the date of delivery by net present value (NPV) method. Additional costs to be brought by Project time reductions were reflected as costs of technology and also saving amount scores corresponding to unit reduction time were determined to be equal to reduce general expenses. As a result of study; it has been determined that the completion of the project in 18 months' time specified in the contract and corresponding to the most appropriate time economically is the most appropriate solution. The authors emphasize that; prior to the procurement of medium and large scale construction projects, performing time-cost studies has a key attribute for optimum solutions both national and construction companies, because performing time-cost studies provides minimum cost of production.

Opis:
The aim of the article is to answer two research questions concerning the influence of organizational factors and shape of project portfolio on the content and scope, as well as on the stakeholders engagement in project planning. The research strategy included a questionnairebased method. The respondents were representatives of the chosen companies located in Poland, from varied types of industries. The key research finding is that most frequently addressed areas of project planning are those of the iron-triangle of project constraints. There is still lack of understanding for communication, risk and quality planning in projects, which is consonant with recent studies of maturity in project management areas. There are significant differences between industries in terms of areas of project planning. Power engineering seems to be more mature in terms of more frequent practices of planning the project schedule, resources and risk. The research showed a number of significant correlations between components of project planning and both organizational and project portfolio factors, which justifies the statement that those factors can be seen as determinants of project planning practices.

Opis:
W artykule podsumowano klasyczne metody planowania projektów.
Classic project planning methods are summed up. It is shown that they are not suited for research projects and it is justified that a research project should be planned in a different way from the other ones. A review of methods from the literature is conducted - of the methods dedicated to research projects, but also of the methods dedicated to other types of projects biased by a high uncertainty and changeability degree. It is indicated how the latter might be applied to research projects. Further research directions are shown, which will allow one to work out planning methods for research projects adapted to their specificity. Attention is drawn to the fact that various types of research projects exist, while each type may potentially require a different planning method. The requirements set to research project plans by such institutions as the European Commission, the National Centre of Research and Development and the National Centre of Science are mentioned, and it is pointed out that these requirements should be changed in order to optimise the expenditure of financial resources earmarked for research.

Opis:
The traditional (e.g. Gantt chart) and modern (network modeling) scheduling techniques reach their limits quite soon in case of large projects. In case of thousands of activities, the current methods do not provide an effective evaluation. This paper would like to show tools that can solve the above-mentioned problem. We have several options for handling these matters effectively. For example: fine scheduling based on resource and cost use, innovative solutions for printing of complex schedules. The latter includes the poster-like presentation of several plan details. These applications can be considered novelties in project planning methodology

Opis:
W drugiej części opracowania zostały przedstawione wyniki studium przypadku - analiza mierników służących do oceny efektów międzynarodowych projektów innowacyjnych realizowanych w ramach wspólnej inicjatywy o nazwie KIC Innoenergy.
The aim of the article is to present ways to measure the effects of innovation projects. To confirm the effectiveness of the work being done to increase the innovation necessary to introduce systems to measure their effects. The first part of the article presents theoretical issues related to innovation, project outcomes measurement and the measurement of the level of innovation. The complex nature of innovation makes its comprehensive measurement requires the use of a composition of many meters. The second part of the study presents results of a case study - an analysis of indicators used to assess the effects of international innovative projects realized under the initiative KIC Innoenergy.
