Opis:: Missing data are quite common in practical applications of statistical methods. Imputation is general statistical method for the analysis of incomplete data sets. The goal of the paper is to review selected imputation techniques. Special attention is paid to methods implemented in some packages working in the R environment. An example is presented to show how to handle missing values using a few procedures of single and multiple imputation implemented in R.

Opis:: In our paper, we give the simulation results concerning the multiple-comparison procedures, especially their error measures, such as FWER and FDR. We compare the powers of four popular multiple-comparison procedures, applied to three standard statistical models. All of our simulations were carried out by using the R-project package.

Opis:: Celem podjętych i przeprowadzonych badań była predykacja wielkości emisji CH4 z sektora rolniczego w Polsce na podstawie wielkości produkcji zwierząt gospodarskich. Prognozy prowadzono z wykorzystaniem sieci Flexible Bayesian Models. Poziom istotności analizowanych parametrów rozpatrzono w oparciu o testy Kendalla i Spearmana.
The aim of the study was the prediction of CH4 emissions from the agricultural sector in Poland on the basis of livestock production. Projections were carried out using the Bayesian Flexible Models network. The level of significance of the analyzed parameters were considered based on the Kendall and Spearman tests.

Opis:: Building teams has a fundamental impact for execution of research and development projects. Often the success of the project depends on the competence of employees implementing these projects. Therefore, it becomes essential to build the team where skills complement each other in terms of knowledge, personality and practical skills. On the other hand an important element is the process of assessing the candidate. The person dealing with recruitment often bases its decisions on intuition / subjective impression and they tend to be unreliable. The article presents a proposal to use Fuzzy AHP and TOPSIS methods in team building for R&D projects on the basis of employees skills using for this process the most well-known tool, namely spreadsheet.

Opis:: In this paper, an approach to evaluate R&D projects in telecommunications is presented. These Project have particular features that cannot be properly incorporated by classical evaluation methods. This approach incorporates different criteria, both quantitative and qualitative, and also management flexibility and uncertainty. Thus, it is an approach that can be applied to real data of R&D projects in a telecommunications company.

Opis:: Supervised classification covers a number of data mining methods based on training data. These methods have been successfully applied to solve multi-criteria complex classification problems in many domains, including economical issues. In this paper we discuss features of some supervised classification methods based on decision trees and apply them to the direct marketing campaigns data of a Portuguese banking institution. We discuss and compare the following classification methods: decision trees, bagging, boosting, and random forests. A classification problem in our approach is defined in a scenario where a bank’s clients make decisions about the activation of their deposits. The obtained results are used for evaluating the effectiveness of the classification rules.

Opis:: One of the key issues in the management of R&D projects is tracking the process of their implementation, and the PR of the development of created solutions. The information about the current progress of the project and the identification of risks in different spheres of its implementation provides the possibility to take appropriate corrective actions on a continuing basis. This article presents a systemic approach and a practical application of a complex assessment of the maturity level of implementation and commercial potential in tracking and predicting the development of innovative technological solutions developed through R&D projects. It presents prediction capabilities for the development of technological solutions based on the analysis of evaluations using the example of tracking research projects conducted within the framework of the Strategic Programme, „Innovative Systems of Technical Support for Sustainable Development”. The article proposes directions for further research, which, in the process of predicting the development of solutions, factors in various aspects occurring at the design stage, preparation for the implementation, and commercialization.

Opis:: Introduction/background: The automotive sector is one of the most important industries for many industrialized countries. More than 20,000 parts per vehicle are sourced from suppliers from all over the world. Innovation projects in the automotive sector are the most complex and increasingly implemented in an open innovation model, i.e. with the participation of designers from multiple companies (R&D organizations, OEM, component suppliers, raw material suppliers). R&D projects driven by technology developments such as autonomous driving, electrification, in-car connectivity and multimodality are leading to a transformation of the industry (the largest since the invention of the car in 1885). The application of ITC (including the use of Industry 4.0 solutions like blockchain) means a new level of management of R&D projects carried out in an open model and control of the value creation chain throughout the product life cycle. Aim of the paper: The aim of the article was to introduce the concepts of inter-organizational innovation project management, project risk management, project management using ITC. Materials and methods: The research method used was: a systematic literature review. Results and conclusions: The article sought to confirm the thesis that automotive corporations are the forerunners of new solutions in the management of inter-organizational innovation projects.

Opis:: The main aim of the paper is a statistical analysis of changes in household income distribution at the regional level in Poland taking into account the impact of government spending on social assistance. Various linear models (incorporating relations for spline functions) and the vector autoregression models (VAR) were used in the research. The linear models formulated for voivodships (NUTS 2) contained a dichotomous variable with values dependent on the existence of social programmes introduced by the Polish government in 2016. An independent variable representing expenditure per capita on social assistance specified for the national level was also used. The results for these models were compared with the findings of both microsimulation studies obtained on the basis of the Household Budget Surveys (HBS) and the total assessment of the social programmes, and they indicate a significant influence of social assistance expenditure on the amounts of available income. The calculations were conducted using data from the Statistics Poland databases: Local Data Bank (and in particular, data from the Polish HBS for the years 2000-2018) and from the Macroeconomic Data Bank, and from the annual reports on the implementation of the state budget. They were performed by means of the R-project environment and R-commander overlay, using the lm function as well as the vars module for the R-project environment. The study also involved using the Gretl package.
Głównym celem artykułu jest analiza statystyczna zmian rozkładu dochodów gospodarstw domowych w Polsce na poziomie regionalnym z uwzględnieniem wpływu wydatków rządowych na pomoc społeczną. W badaniu wykorzystano modele liniowe, które zawierają relacje wykorzystujące funkcje sklejane, oraz wektorowe modele autoregresyjne (VAR). Modele liniowe dla województw zawierały zmienną dychotomiczną o wartościach zależnych od funkcjonowania programów socjalnych wprowadzonych przez polski rząd w 2016 r. Wykorzystano również zmienną niezależną określającą wydatki na pomoc społeczną per capita na poziomie kraju. Wyniki dla tych modeli zostały porównane z podobnymi miarami wyznaczonymi w badaniach mikrosymulacyjnych na podstawie badania budżetów gospodarstw domowych oraz z łączną oceną programów społecznych. Wskazują one, że wydatki na pomoc społeczną mają znaczący wpływ na wartości dochodu rozporządzalnego. Do obliczeń wykorzystano dane z baz GUS: Banku Danych Lokalnych (w szczególności dane z badania budżetów gospodarstw domowych za lata 2000–2018) oraz Banku Danych Makroekonomicznych, a także dane z co-rocznych sprawozdań z wykonania budżetu państwa. Użyto środowiska R-project oraz nakładki R-commander z zastosowaniem funkcji lm, jak również modułu vars dla środowiska R-project. Posłużono się także programem Gretl.

Opis:: W artykule przedstawiono główne zadania realizowanego przez Konsorcjum Naukowo-Przemysłowe „Zgazowanie węgla” Projektu Strategicznego NCBiR pt.: „Opracowanie technologii zgazowania węgla dla wysokoefektywnej produkcji paliw i energii elektrycznej”. M.in. zaprezentowano koncepcję procesu tlenowego zgazowania węgla w skali pilotowej, opartą na prowadzeniu procesu w reaktorze ciśnieniowym (CFB) i wykorzystaniu w tym procesie ditlenku węgla w charakterze surowca, jak również rozwijanego w ramach Projektu NCBR procesu podziemnego zgazowania węgla kamiennego.
This paper presents the main tasks of the strategic NCBiR Project: “Development of coal gasification technology for high--efficiency fuel and power production” implemented by the Scientific-Industrial Consortium. The project presents, among others, the idea of the oxygen gasification process, conducted in a pressure reactor on a pilot scale with the use of carbon dioxide as the gasification agent as well as the idea of underground hard coal gasification process developed within the framework of the NCBiR Project.
