Opis:: The process of development of research competence of school students is described in the paper. The terminology of competence approach is discussed. Research competence modeling is presented. Opis:: The article describes the research process of student members of the Kharkov Small Academy of Sciences of Ukraine using differential equations in the study of natural phenomena. The studied issue was the dependence of the wind speed on the path it traveled into the thick of the forest. Mathematical problem was formulated practical and theoretical calculations were carried out. The work corresponds to certain areas and approaches to building training within the framework of STEM-education, which at the present stage of education development in Ukraine is actively discussed and is gradually being introduced into the learning process. W artykule opisano proces badawczy studentów z Charkowskiej Małej Akademii Nauk Ukrainy, wykorzystujących równania różniczkowe w badaniach zjawisk naturalnych. Badanym zagadnieniem była zależność prędkości wiatru od drogi, którą pokonywał on wędrując w głąb gęstego lasu. Sformułowano problem matematyczny i przeprowadzono obliczenia teoretyczne. Opis:: This article is focused on the implementation of preschool children’s program for the development of ‘STREAM Education or Path to the Universe’. Different possibilities for educating a creative personality are revealed through the project research. In this article the authors’ program called ‘The Fixies’, a project-research activity for kids aged 4 to 5, is presented. The authors describe the experience of using this programme in the Chernihiv branch of Unikum Academy, the Institute of the Gifted Child National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine and in Chernihiv 42 kindergarten. The experience gained while organizing a STREAM laboratory, which provided opportunities to use the project-research activity in the kindergarten, is described in this article.

Opis:: The article reveals the opportunities, types of organization and ways to use the citizen science results at the Pedagogical University. It’s been proved that future teachers of different specialties have certain personal qualities that affect their training for scientific research activity. These qualities differ significantly. All in all, the average values of personal qualities indicators point out that future teachers can be quite successful in certain types of scientific research activities, considering their strong personal characteristics and improving the weak ones. It is proved that if the pedagogical university organizes the participation of students in citizen science, then they better develop the skills of self-organization and other personal qualities, essential for a modern teacher-researcher.

Opis:: Celem artykułu jest próba odpowiedzi na pytanie, czy w obecnych czasach możemy mówić o regresie czy raczej o postępie w działalności naukowej archiwów. W polskiej literaturze brak kompleksowych opracowań poświęconych aktywności naukowej archiwów państwowych. Do jej podejmowania obligują lakoniczne zapisy ustawy o narodowym zasobie archiwalnym i archiwach oraz statuty tych instytucji. Przejawem pewnego kryzysu działalności naukowej archiwów jest jej mylenie lub utożsamianie z aktywnością popularyzatorską czy edukacyjną. Duże znaczenie dla postępu lub regresu w omawianym obszarze ma polityka prowadzona przez poszczególnych naczelnych dyrektorów archiwów państwowych, która bywa niespójna i bardzo zmienna. Aktywność naukowa polskich archiwów pośród pozostałych ich zadań jest słabo widoczna w działalności poszczególnych archiwów państwowych. Informacje o niej rzadko pojawiają się na stronach internetowych archiwów wprost. Są również zmarginalizowane w wadliwie skonstruowanych sprawozdaniach rocznych. Tezy o kryzysie w omawianej materii nie potwierdzają natomiast rosnące liczby publikacji (w tym także czasopism) wydawanych przez archiwa oraz referatów wygłaszanych przez ich pracowników na konferencjach naukowych.
This paper examines the research activity of archives and seeks to answer the question: are archives making progress in this area or are they actually taking a step back? In the Polish literature, there are no comprehensive studies dedicated to the research activity of state archives. However, pursuant to the brief provisions of the Polish act on the national archival fond and archives, as well as the articles of associations of state archives, these institutions are obliged to undertake such activity. One symptom of decline is conflating or identifying the research activity of archives with their cultural or educational undertakings. One factor that greatly affects the progress or decline in the discussed area are the policies implemented by heads of individual branches of state archives, as these tend to be inconsistent and unpredictable. On state archives’ websites, mentions of research activity of Polish archivists are barely noticeable among their other tasks. Also, state archives very rarely use their own websites to directly communicate their research activities. These activities are marginalized in defectively designed annual reports on the activity of archives. However, the argument that archives are undergoing a crisis in terms of research can be challenged by the growing number of publications (including journals) by the archives, as well as papers presented by their employees at academic conferences.

Opis:: Background. The aim of the study was to provide information about the socio-economic status, research activity, and mood disorders among PhD students of the Academy of Physical Education in Wrocław, Poland. Material and methods. This study covered 61 PhD students (mean age 28.4 years). The research employed the diagnostic survey method. The author’s survey examined the employment status and economic situation. An additional method, used to assess depression symptoms, was Beck Depression Inventory. Results. In the fields of physiotherapy and physical education, 96% and 78% of PhD students, respectively, had found employment. The total of 72% of physical education and 50% of physiotherapy students had published at least once. As many as 30% of all respondents reported symptoms of mood disorders and complained about mental health problems. Conclusions. Mood disorders are a serious problem in PhD students of the Academy of Physical Education in Wrocław. While physical education students show greater activity in the field of scientific research, more physiotherapy students are professionally active.

Opis:: The authors state that the rapid penetration of design into every field of human life, the convergence of material production with art, the development of design technologies, and increasing the social impact of design have significantly heightened professional requirements for modern designers.
