Opis:: In this paper, a new method based on color features of microscopic image and least-squares support vector regression model (LS-SVR) is proposed for indirect measurement of copper concentrate grade. Red, green and blue (RGB), hue and color vector angle were extracted from color microscopic images of a copper concentrate sample and selected for the comparison. Three different estimation models based on LS-SVR were developed using RGB, hue, and color vector angle, respectively. A comparison of three models was carried out through a validation test. The best model was obtained for the hue giving a running time of 30.243 ms, root mean square error of 0.8644 and correlation coefficient value of 0.9997. The results indicated that the copper concentrate grade could be estimated by the LS-SVR model using the hue as input parameter with a satisfactory accuracy.

The article outlines the basic structures of the State Security Committee (attached to the Council of Ministers) of the USSR carrying out operational activities in thirteen countries of the Middle East with particular emphasis: Lebanon, Egypt, Syria, Iraq and North and South Yemen. Moreover, the specificity of the region was presented, as well as its impact on the profile of events undertaken there, especially in the scope of operations carried out within the organizational units of the 1st Chief Directorate of the KGB responsible for conducting foreign intelligence, as well as their possible impact on the subsequent activities of the Foreign Intelligence Service of the Russian Federation in this area.

Opis:: INTRODUCTION: The combined therapy of pegylated alpha interferon and rybavirin is a gold standard of chronic viral hepatitis C (cvhC) treatment. AIM: The aim of the study is to evaluate the laboratory test differences between the group of cvhC patients which achieved and did not achieve sustained virologic response (SVR). MATERIALS AND METHODS: 51 patients (25 women, 26 men, age 48.7 ± 12.8 years) were divided into two groups depending on SVR achievement. SVR was achieved in 41.2% of patients [(SVR(+)]. The concentration of hemoglo-bin, hematocrite, the number of erythrocytes, leucocytes, platelets, glucose, bilirubin, creatinin, uric acid, fT3, fT4, TSH, C-reactive protein (CRP), the activity of asparaginian and alaninian transaminases, alkaline phosphatase, gammaglutamylotranspeptidase, were estimated before the start of treatment and after 12, 24, 48 and 72 weeks after beginning it. Statistic analysis was performed by ANOVA of Friedmann, U Mann-Withney and t-Student tests. RESULTS: The activity of AspAT, AlAT in the SVR(+) group was lower from the 12th week until the 72nd week of observation. GGTP activity was statistically significant lower in the SVR(+)group. The decrease in TSH concentration in the 12th week and the increase in fT4 concentration in week 24 was clearer in the SVR(+) group. The hematocrite was lower in the SVR(+) group in the 48th week from the beginning of therapy and 24 weeks after the end of it. CONCLUSIONS: Patients treated with pegylated interferon 2a and rybavirine due to cvhC rarely achieve SVR if the GGTP activity is higher before the treatment and if the aminotranferases activity is higher during therapy. Latent hyperthyreosis can be a good predictive factor.
WSTĘP: Złotym standardem terapii przewlekłego wirusowego zapalenia wątroby typu C (PWZW-C) w naszym kraju jest terapia skojarzona pegylowanym interferonem alfa (PEG-If-) i rybawiryną. Celem pracy była ocena różnic w wartościach poszczególnych parametrów morfologii krwi obwodowej oraz wyników badań biochemicznych w toku leczenia chorych z PWZW-C, u których osiągnięto i nie osiągnięto trwałej odpowiedzi wirusologicznej (sustained virologic response – SVR). MATERIAŁ I METODY: 51 chorych (25 kobiet i 26 mężczyzn, średnia wieku 48,7 ± 12,8 roku) zakażonych genotypem 1b wirusa HCV podzielono na dwie grupy: pierwszą stanowili chorzy (41,2%) których terapia zakończyła się osiągnięciem SVR [SVR(+)], drugą stanowili pozostali chorzy [SVR(-)]. Przed rozpoczęciem terapii oraz po 12, 24, 48 tygodniach od rozpoczęcia, a następnie po 24 tygodniach od zakończeniu leczenia oceniano: stężenie hemoglobiny, hematokryt, liczbę erytrocytów, leukocytów oraz płytek krwi, aktywność aminotransferazy asparaginianowej (AspAT), aminotransferazy alaninowej (AlAT), fosfatazy alkalicznej (ALP) oraz gamma-glutamylotranspeptydazy (GGTP), stężenie glukozy, bilirubiny, kreatyniny, kwasu moczowego, fT3, fT4, TSH, białka C-reaktywnego (CRP). Analizę statystyczną przeprowadzono przy użyciu testów: ANOVA Friedmana, U Manna-Withneya oraz t-Studenta. WYNIKI: Aktywność AspAT, AlAT w grupie była niższa w grupie SVR(+) od 12 tygodnia aż do 72 tygodnia. Aktywność GGTP była znamiennie niższa w grupie SVR(+). Spadek stężenia TSH w 12 tygodniu oraz wzrost stężenia fT4 w 24 tygodniu leczenia był wyraźniejszy u osób SVR(+). Hematokryt osiągnął niższe wartości w grupie SVR(+) w 48 tygodni od włączenia i 24 tygodnie po zakończeniu terapii. WNIOSKI: Chorzy leczeni z powodu PWZW-C rzadziej osiągają SVR w przypadku podwyższonej aktywności GGTP przed rozpoczęciem leczenia i utrzymywania się zwiększonej aktywności aminotransferaz w trakcie terapii. Korzystny wpływ może mieć utajona nadczynność tarczycy.

Opis:: Traditional time series forecasting models, like ARIMA and regression models, can hardly capture nonlinear patterns. Support vector regression (SVR), a novel neural network technique, has been successfully used to solve nonlinear regression and time series problems. The SVR model applies the structural risk minimization principle to minimize the upper bound of the generalization error, instead of minimizing the training error, employed by most conventional neural network models. Thus, parameter determination for an SVR model is appropriate for achieving high forecasting accuracy. Several evolutionary algorithms, such as genetic algorithms and simulated annealing algorithms have been used in parameter selection, but these algorithms often suffer from the possibility of being trapped in local optimum. This study used an improved ant colony optimization algorithm in an SVR model, called SVRCACO, for selecting suitable parameters, with encouraging local search in areas where forecasting accuracy improvement continues to be made, then, autocatalytically converge to promising regions. Numerical examples of exchange rate forecasting from the existing literature are employed to assess the performance of the proposed model. Experimental results show that the proposed model outperforms other approaches from the literature.

Opis:: Least squares support vector regression (LS-SVR) has been widely applied in time series prediction. Based on the case that one fault mode may be represented by multiple relevant time series, we utilize multiple time series to enrich the prediction information hiding in time series data, and use multi-kernel to fully map the information into high dimensional feature space, then a weighted time series prediction method with multi-kernel LS-SVR is proposed to attain better prediction performance in this paper. The main contributions of this method include three parts. Firstly, a simple approach is proposed to determine the combining weights of multiple basis kernels; Secondly, the internal correlative levels of multiple relevant time series are computed to present the different contributions of prediction results; Thirdly, we propose a new weight function to describe each data's different effect on the prediction accuracy. The experiment results indicate the effectiveness of the proposed method in both better prediction accuracy and less computation time. It maybe has more application value.
Regresja wektorów wspierających metodą najmniejszych kwadratów (LS-SVR) jest szeroko stosowana w predykcji szeregów czasowych. Opierając się na fakcie, że jeden rodzaj niezdatności może być reprezentowany przez wiele relewantnych szeregów czasowych, w niniejszej pracy wykorzystano wielokrotne szeregi czasowe do wzbogacenia informacji predykcyjnych ukrytych w szeregach czasowych oraz posłużono się metodą uczenia wielojądrowego (multi-kernel) w celu mapowania informacji do wysoko wymiarowej przestrzeni cech, a następnie zaproponowano metodę ważonej predykcji wielokrotnych szeregów czasowych z wykorzystaniem wielojądrowej regresji LS-SVR służącą osiągnięciu lepszej wydajności prognozowania.Metoda składa się z trzech głównych części. Po pierwsze, zaproponowano prosty sposób określania łącznej wagi wielu jąder podstawowych. Po drugie, obliczono wewnętrzne poziomy korelacyjne wielokrotnych szeregów czasowych w celu przedstawienia różnego udziału wyników prognozowania. Po trzecie, zaproponowano nową funkcję wagi do opisu różnego wpływu poszczególnych danych na trafność predykcji. Wyniki doświadczenia wskazują na skuteczność proponowanej metody zarówno jeśli chodzi o lepszą trafność predykcji jak i krótszy czas obliczeniowy. Proponowane rozwiązanie ma potencjalnie dużą wartość aplikacyjną.

Opis:: In this paper, two methods to predict and calculate the area of the tunnel face after the blasting were used. The first one is an artificial intelligence method using an artificial neural network system (ANN) model, and the second one – the support vector regression (SVR). After building predictive models for the area of the tunnel face after blasting by both methods, on the basis of comparing the results obtained in both methods, the performance of these models was assessed through the root mean square error RMSE and the coefficient of determination R2. RMSE and R2 values of the artificial neural network system (ANN) model were obtained as 0.1473 and 0.903 in training datasets, respectively. These values are 0.1497 and 0.9107 in testing datasets. In the SRV model, RMSE and R2 were equaled to 0.1228 and 0.9331 in training datasets, respectively. These values are 0.1708 and 0.9055, respectively in testing datasets. It can be concluded that artificial intelligence using ANN and SVM models can be used to predict the area of the tunnel face after blasting with high accuracy.

Opis:: As the capacity and scale of distribution networks continue to expand, and distributed generation technology is increasingly mature, the traditional fault location is no longer applicable to an active distribution network and "two-way" power flow structure. In this paper, a fault location method based on Karrenbauer transform and support vector machine regression (SVR) is proposed. Firstly, according to the influence of Karrenbauer transformation on phase angle difference before and after section fault in a low-voltage active distribution network, the fault regions and types are inferred preliminarily. Then, in the feature extraction stage, combined with the characteristics of distribution network fault mechanism, the fault feature sample set is established by using the phase angle difference of the Karrenbauer current. Finally, the fault category prediction model based on SVR was established to solve the problem of a single-phase mode transformation modulus and the indistinct identification of two-phase short circuits, then more accurate fault segments and categories were obtained. The proposed fault location method is simulated and verified by building a distribution network system model. The results show that compared with other methods in the field of fault detection, the fault location accuracy of the proposed method can reach 98.56%, which can enhance the robustness of rapid fault location.

Opis:: The purpose of this study is to develop mathematical models based on artificial intelligence: Models based on the support vectors regression (SVR) for drought forecast in the Ansegmir watershed (Upper Moulouya, Morocco). This study focuses on the prediction of the temporal aspect of the two drought indices (standardized precipitation index – SPI and standardized precipitation-evapotranspiration index – SPEI) using six hydro-climatic variables relating to the period 1979–2013. The model SVR3-SPI: RBF, ε = 0.004, C = 20 and γ = 1.7 for the index SPI, and the model SVR3-SPEI: RBF ε = 0.004, C = 40 and γ = 0.167 for the SPEI index are significantly better in comparison to other models SVR1, SVR2 and SVR4. The SVR model for the SPI index gave a correlation coefficient of R = 0.92, MSE = 0.17 and MAE = 0.329 for the learning phase and R = 0.90, MSE = 0.18 and MAE = 0.313 for the testing phase. As for the SPEI index, the overlay is slightly poorer only in the case of the SPI index between the observed values and the predicted ones by the SVR model. It shows a very small gap between the observed and predicted values. The correlation coefficients R = 0.88 for the learning, R = 0.86 for testing remain higher and corresponding to a quadratic error average MSE = 0.21 and MAE = 0.351 for the learning and MSE = 0.21 and MAE = 0.350 for the testing phase. The prediction of drought by SVR model remain useful and would be extremely important for drought risk management.
