Opis:: In the article there are described methods and functions of swan motif used in films Picnic at Hanging Rock by Peter Weir and Black Swan by Darren Aronofsky. In the work of Australian director very important on that mat- ter are the following: the main character (Miranda), pictorial intertexts, plot structure and some of the formal elements. In Black Swan various connec- tions between the film and Peter Tchaikovsky’s ballet Swan Lake are crucial. In the article there is also presented initiation process of both film characters, which is important for the swan motif. It is an area of comparison of these relatively different works as well. Last part of the article discusses elements of kitsch in the mentioned motif (because of considerable amount of it in low standard art) and tries to prove that methods of exploiting the swan motif by both Peter Weir and Darren Aronofsky are far from kitsch.

Opis:: Peter Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake – from fine arts to popular culture, focuses on the analysis and the interpretation of the most important and the most interesting productions of Tchaikovsky’s masterpiece. It opens up our minds to how the play functions today in the different fields of culture and to the significance the swan plays in forming the whole libretto of the work. It includes a historical outline of the production and a detailed discussion on two of its premieres showing how one ended in failure while the other went on to become the popular Swan Lake that we see performed around the world today. This thesis also compares performances of the work between authors who sought to create classical versions and those who strive for something a little more different including modern dance. The final chapter shows how Swan Lake is perceived in popular culture. It includes the most representative of adaptions of the work, compared with the most diverse adaptions and those associated with pop culture itself. The thesis comes illustrated with photographs showing the reader the arguments presenting in the work.
Praca Jezioro łabędzie Piotra Czajkowskiego – od sztuki wysokiej do kultury popularnej skupia się na analizie i interpretacji najważniejszych i najciekawszych inscenizacji tego baletu oraz na ukazaniu ich funkcjonowania w różnych dziedzinach kultury. Zajmuje się również motywem łabędzia i jego znaczeniem dla ukształtowania się libretta Jeziora łabędziego. Zawiera ponadto rys historyczny tego dzieła Czajkowskiego i szczegółowo omawia dwie jego premiery, ukazując dlaczego jedna z nich zakończyła się klęską, a druga sukcesem, od którego rozpoczęła się, niegasnąca do dziś, popularność Jeziora łabędziego. Praca ta zawiera przegląd zarówno tych spektakli, których twórcy dążyli do ujęcia klasycznego, wiernego oryginałowi, jak również takich, do stworzenia których choreografowie szukają inspiracji poza samym baletem lub/i poza techniką tańca klasycznego. Ostatni rozdział ukazuje zakorzenianie się baletu Czajkowskiego w kulturze masowej. Zawiera najbardziej reprezentatywne i różnorodne jego wcielenia i popkulturowe adaptacje. Praca urozmaicona jest różnorodnymi fotografiami, mającymi za zadanie ułatwić czytelnikowi wizualizację prezentowanych zagadnień.

Opis:: The increasing climatic changes and their possible negative impact on the marine and coastal environment prompt the search for alternative estimating and predicting dangerous phenomena. Hydrodynamic modeling is an underappreciated model which enables forecasting waves and their effects. In the presented work, the author assessed the influence of the dynamics of undulations on the morphological changes of the Gulf of Gdańsk coast in three transects representing different geomorphological zones of the shore. Using the SWAN wave model, simulations were carried out reflecting the hydrodynamic conditions of the most giant storms in 2015-2020, calculating the amount of eroded sediment material in bottom and suspension transport. In addition, based on the significant wave height data from ERA5-ECMWFfrom 1981-2020 and the assumed scenarios, a prediction was made of a potential increase in coastal erosion caused by the rise in the mean value of the significant wave height. Taking into account the implemented and set atmospheric, hydrodynamic, and sedimentological conditions, it has been estimated that the highest erosion characterizes the cliff area in Gdynia-Orłowo (transect B), where the average amount of erosion of the bottom sediment is 0.5 kg/m/s, of the sediment in suspension - 20 kg/m/s, and the average speed of the transported sediment exceeds 2 m s-1. The lowest dynamics of changes is characteristic for the western part of the Vistula Spit (transect C), where the average velocity of the transported sediment is 0.28 m s-1, and the average size of the eroded bottom sediment is 0.014kg/m/sand 0.15kg in suspension/m/s. In the analyzed storm events, at all locations, the greatest erosion was generated by the wave conditions from January 2019. The maximum wave height in the open sea was record-breaking, over 13 meters. Depending on the analyzed area and its geomorphology and exposure to storm waves, the predicted amount of erosion varied significantly. For Scenario A, assuming a 15% increase in the average frequency and height of the significant wave, the forecast of coastal transport is 138-161 thousand m3/year, for Scenario B (30%) 150-175.5 thousand m3/year, and for Scenario C (50%) 180-210 thousand m3/year. In addition, the aim of the work is a cause-and-effect analysis of wave activity on the coast of the Gulf of Gdańsk and the assessment of its impact on quantitative changes in the sediment transport balance.

Opis:: W opracowaniu przedstawiono architekturę QoS sieci, umożliwiającej zapewnienie żądanej jakości świadczenia usług transportowych w mieszanych sieciach ad-hoc - infrastruktura. Różnicowanie usług dla czterech klas ruchu osiągnięto dzięki rozszerzonemu protokołowi SWAN oraz różnicowaniu usług w warstwie 3. Opisano pomiary niezbędne do efektywnego różnicowania usług w sieciach WLAN. Przedstawiono również przykładowe wyniki pomiarów zrealizowanych za pomocą modułu pomiarowego warstwy MAC, potwierdzające poprawność różnicowania usług w takich sieciach. Opisano także metody zapewnienia QoS w sieci przewodowej pomiędzy komunikującymi się terminalami.
The ad-hoc and infrastructure QoS network architecture that allows for required quality transport services provisioning is presented in this study. The services differentiation for four traffic classes is achieved through the extended SWAN protocol and layer 3 differentiation. The measurements indispensable for effective services differentiation in WLAN networks are described. The measurement examples from MAC layer measurement module that confirm the services differentiation correctness are presented. The methods for supporting QoS in fixed networks between terminals are also described.

Opis:: Nowadays the "gold clinical standard" of hemodynamics diagnostic and cardiac output measurements is pulmonary artery catheterization by means of the Swan-Ganz catheter and thermodilution. The method itself is sensitive to numerous disturbances which cause inaccurate results. One of the well-known disadvantages of thermodilution is the overestimation of results at low values of cardiac output. This effect may concern the limited slew rate of the thermoelement mounted at the tip of the catheter. In this paper the relationship between the dynamic response of the thermoelement and the uncertainty of cardiac output measurements by means of thermodilution has been investigated theoretically and experimentally.
